*Combo Tips*
If you use Combos, the battles are a lot easier. So here's a few tips.
You have to pause between button presses.
You can't just hit XXX really fast and pull off a combo.
If you want to practice Combos, start a new game. At the beginning of every
new game, you will go to the Training Grounds with Tal. You can stay in the
Training Grounds as long as you like, and those training dummies (aka guards)
will never die. It's a great place to practice the Combo timing. Good luck!
==================
General Tips [5.0]
==================
* Save often, the general rule of any RPG.
* Keep your party healthy, those potions won't do you any good if you never use
them.
* If one of your party members dies, revive them!
* Use Combos when attacking with Melee Characters.
* Keep moving when attacking with a Ranged Character. Standing still will only
make you an easer target.
* Keep track of the items you've collected, do you have items in your inventory
just sitting around? Maybe you should use/sell them?
* Ailish has a lot of Skill Points, put them to good use.
* Keep an eye out for Pots, Boxes, Barrels, or anything else you can break.
Some of them contain useful items that you'd otherwise have to buy!
* Watch for "invisible" items or areas. Sometimes it's hard to see them, so
be on the lookout.
* Look for hidden chests, they're out there!
* Don't waste your money. You'll need it, so only upgrade items you're
actually going to use. And don't buy a whole bunch of healing potions, you can
usually find them for free.
* EXPLORE, when you get to a new area you should look everywhere! You never
know what you'll find!
* Talk to people in the game. They may have something useful to say.
* Don't be afraid to use your Skill Strikes. If it will get you out of a jam,
then do it! You can always refill your Skill Points with a Skill Potion.
-------------------
In The Beginning...
-------------------
- No Items
After the opening scenes, you'll gain control of Tal. Tal has been ordered to
give a weapons demonstration. This is a perfect opportunity for you to learn
the controls. Don't worry about getting hurt, or hurting the guards. Follow
the instructions on-screen. I'd highly suggest practicing some combos before
hitting the Back button to end the tutorial. It would also be a good idea to
practice using blocking and rolling. When you're finished, hit Back to
continue on with the game.
---------------
Illumina Castle
---------------
- Battle Manual
- Wolf Totem
When you first enter town, a guard will speak to you about getting a map. This
is your first official quest.
Now would be a good time to save your game. You should see the Save Point
ahead of you to the right. The Inn is right beside the Save Point. You won't
need the Inn for now, but it will be useful later. After you've saved your
game, you should explore the town. There are some easy to find barrels, boxes,
pots, and chests along the inner walls of the town.
The Blacksmith is across from the Save Point and Inn. I would avoid using the
Blacksmith at this point. You don't have much money to waste, and you'll get a
stronger sword very soon. You won't be able to afford the armor upgrades for a
while.
On the right wall of town there is a doorway with stairs leading up. This
leads to Tal's room. In his room you will find a chest and a secret item.
Check his bed for a Battle Manual. The game does not prompt you to press the
A button, just keep pressing the A button near his bed until you get the Battle
Manual.
Now it's time to go get that map. The shop is at the far end of town. Talk to
the shopkeeper and get the map. Take a look at his iventory, but you shouldn't
need to buy any extra items yet. You'll notice he has some nice weapons for
sale. You'll also notice they aren't cheap. There are a lot of places to
spend your money, so start saving early. You probably have some stuff that you
found in town to sell, but you should wait. Traders will offer more money for
hides than shopkeepers. Now exit the shop.
A guard will speak to you as you leave the shop. It seems your skills as a
soldier will now be put to the test. I hope you practiced those combos!
The game will tell you to follow the white arrow on the map. This is a little
confusing, but there's only one town exit you can use anyway. Go back through
town to the puppet master's tent. The town exit is right after the Puppet
Master's Tent.
After you go through the door, look to the right. See that weird looking door
on the right side. There's treasure in there! You'll have to hit a switch to
open the door. Go up the stairs along the left wall, and you will see a yellow
switch. You have to hit the switch and then run down the stairs back to the
door. And there IS a 10 second time limit, so HURRY. Run Tal Run! If you
didn't make it to the door in time on your first try, just do it again. When
you get to the door in time, open the chest and claim your Wolf Totem! Now
let's go to the next area.
Keep going straight, you'll cross a large bridge. See that Save Point? Go
explore the docks to the left, break any boxes and barrels you find. After
you're done, save your game at the save point and continue on.
You'll have to go through a long tunnel to get out of the castle. There's not
much to do in here, but there are some pots to break. Keep an eye out, they're
easy to spot.
-----------
King's Road
-----------
After you exit the tunnel, you'll be outside the castle! You'll be ordered to
clear the countryside of baddies. Now it's time to slice & dice. Start down
the road. As you walk down the road, it will start to get a little dark
outside. Here come the baddies! Show them who is boss. Use combos to fight
more effectively. A combo you should use: XXA-AAA. Try not to use your skill
strike. These guys aren't so tough, you'll want your skill points soon.
When you've conquered your enemies, look around the road for breakable
containers. Then continue on to the next area.
----------
Molan Farm
----------
- Orb of Vigor
As you walk down the steps, here come more bad guys! Finish them off. Don't
miss the chest on the porch of the nearby house. Now follow the road onward.
As you pass through the gate, there will be a Save Point on your right. You
know what to do. Continue along the road, and keep an eye out for breakables.
You will come to a part of the road that is a circle. On the left side is a
Wolf Shrine. Go to the shrine and exchange your Wolf Totem for an Orb of
Vigor! DO NOT use it yet. Save this for Ailish. Continue forward to the grab
block. Use Tal's strength (Press A) to move the blocks out of your way.
Continue down the road to the gate.
-------------
Parham County
-------------
As you enter this new area, some more baddies will attack you. Finish them off
quickly, so you can level up! After this fight you should have enough gained
enough experience for your first Level Up! I would highly suggest using the
point to buy Tal 500 more Hit Points. He will need them, VERY soon!
As you continue along the road you will see a cart is blocking the path ahead.
Take the gateway to the left. Immediately turn left after going through the
gateway. Go get that hidden chest! Then go back and cross the bridge to the
Save Point. As you cross the bridge, DO NOT go down the steps onto the sandy
area. Go to the left and use the Save Point. After you save your game, go
down to the sandy area, you will now have to fight a large enemy. And he has
friends... The big guy attacks slowly, but he HURTS. So try to block or AVOID
his attacks. If you can attack him from behind, that's the best way to get
him. When his buddies join him, try to get them all to group up together.
Then hit them ALL with the Shin Splitter, be sure to get the big guy with it
too. This should get rid of most of the smaller enemies. And it will severely
weaken the Grotesque.
After the battle, break the barrel for a healing potion. Use it if necessary.
You may want to go use the Save Point again. Then continue to the next area.
Contine along the road past the soldiers. Stop when you get to the gate.
Before entering the next area, go explore the Graveyard right beyond the gate.
Break the numerous pots, and take note of the "invisible" statue. Now go back
to the gate and enter the next area.
As you enter this area, a battle will begin. After the battle, continue along
the road. There is a house on the side of the road that has an Eagle Totem in
it. You cannot retreive it yet though. You will have to get Ailish first. So
just continue onto the beach, and get ready for a BIG battle. You will have to
fight a ton of normal enemies, and another Grotesque. Try to finish off as
many of the normal enemies as you can before the Grotesque appears. When the
next wave of enemies come, they will bring a Grotesque with them. Now would be
a good time to use a Skill Potion if you have no Skill Points left. Try to
round up the Grotesque and the normal enemies, so that they're in a tight
group. Then hit them with the Shin Splitter. This will make the battle a lot
easier. After you finish the battle, you'll be rewarded with a Level Up and a
new Sword!
Go and break the many barrels, and open the big chest for Mojo.
Equip Mojo (New Sword), and place your Advancement Point. The new armor is
automatically equipped. I'd suggest putting it in Power, this will make Tal's
normal attacks do more damage. Now continue to the next area.
As you go up the stairs there will be a Save Point and an Eagle Shrine. Use
the Save Point, and remember where the Eagle Shrine is. Continue to the next
area.
Boss Battle - Siege Ogre
------------------------ [6.1]
Difficulty: 3/5
Now you will have to fight a Siege Ogre. He's alone, thankfully. He's also
not that tough. He attacks very slowly. If you run, he will chase you. This
gets you nowhere fast. What you want to do is hit & run attacks. Hit him with
two Light Attacks, then Dodge Roll to the side. Just keep doing this, and you
should be fine. If it looks like he's getting ready to swing at you, attack
him only ONCE with a light attack, and quickly roll to the side. Keep an eye
out for his Projectile Vomit attack. He has to charge a little before using
it, so if you see him standing still attack him from behind. You don't want to
get any vomit on your nice shiny armor... After you get his heal to about 60%,
his shield will break. Now he will have a slightly different attack pattern.
Now his Puke attack will be gone, replaced with a Fart attack. Continue to do
the hit & run attacks, but be cautious of his rear. Using Tal's Shin Splitter
will speed up this fight greatly. Try not to attack him from behind, or he may
fart on you. That's right, he farts poison gas. Fart, fart, fart, fart; there
now that we have that out of the way. If he does fart on you, then you will
be poisoned. Use an Emerald Pancea to cure you of Poison, and it will keep
you from getting poisoned again during the rest of the fight. If you have
several Skill Ointments, you can keep hammering him with Shin Splitter until
he's dead.
As you finish him off, it will trigger a scene. Now you have your first Spirit
Strike and the Shadow Armor. Tal is probably hurt, but don't heal him yet.
Soon you'll be in the next town, and you can just use the Inn to refill his Hit
Points and Skill Points. Continue on to the next area.
As you come out of the tunnel, continue up the path until you see the open gate
on the left. Go talk to Jurgen. Lay your skin on him, as he says. Your hides
are worth more here than at the shops, so sell all your extra hides and such.
Afterwards, you should have a hefty amount of money. Continue onward.
---------------
New Brightwater
---------------
- Orb of Vigor
As you enter the village, you will be greeted and told that Ailish is in the
village at the Blue House. There is a chest in the Shadani Encampment to the
left. Continue into the village. As you enter the village, a scene will play.
Right after the scene is over, you'll be placed next to a Save Point. The
Blacksmith, Inn, and shop are also here by the Save Point. Restock if you need
to. And you should use the Blacksmith to upgrade Mojo. Be sure to heal visit
the Inn if you're injured or missing all your Skill Points.
*Tip: Put at least one Bat Fang rune in your weapon, it will help your
character stay healthy during combat.
Check the fountain by the Inn to get some easy money. To the right of the
fountain is a Church. You can give the Priest 70 Florins, then you will be
able to heal your Hit Points at the Church from then on. But, only your Hit
Points. It will not refill your Skill Points AND Hit Points like the Inns do.
My advice is to just save your money and pass by the Church.
Continue past the Fountain to the Blue House. This is the House Ailish is
supposed to be in. Enter, and a scene will play. After, exit the house and
go to the Lighthouse. Just follow the path over the bridge and to the left.
After you meet up with Ailish, be sure to go into the Lighthouse. Check by the
bed for a Stardust Vial.
Now go back down the path from the Lighthouse, and head to the left along the
dirt path. Go right onto the grassy hill. There is a round bench covered by a
small round roof. There is an "invisible" chest for Ailish to Dispel. Open
the chest to claim your Orb of Vigor!
Now head back to the Fountain in the center of the village. If you follow the
path to the right, the one that leads away from the Lighthouse, you'll come to
a forest type area called Brightwater Thicket. There is a chest there with 150
Florins in it.
After you're all done in town head out toward the Shadani Encampment. Time to
leave, the same way you entered the village. Go back through the tunnel.
---------------------------
Return to Brightwater Beach
---------------------------
- Orb of Vigor
- Eagle Totem
- Orb of Might
You'll return to the area where you fought the Siege Ogre, and the game will
enter a tutorial mode for Ailish. Follow the On-Screen directions to get an
Orb of Vigor! You should have three Orbs of Vigor now, I'd suggest using them
on Ailish. Now continue back toward Brightwater Beach.
You'll come back to the Save Point and Eagle Shrine. Save your game. When you
enter Brightwater Beach, you'll have to fight some Crab-like enemies. They
aren't very tough to beat, but they will knock you on your butt if you let them
hit you. After the fight, go back into the house with Ailish, and retreive the
Eagle Totem from the Invisible Chest. Now head back to the beach to fight some
more of the Crab enemies. Afterwards, go to the Eagle Shrine and exchange the
Eagle Totem. You'll get an Orb of Might. You may have noticed Tal doesn't
have very many Skill Points, hint hint. I'd suggest using the Orb of Might on
Tal.
Now go back to the beach and continue along the path back past the house.
-----------------------
Return to Parham County
-----------------------
- Orb of Might
- Eagle Totem
- Orb of Vigor
As you continue up the path, you'll come to a gate. Open it to encounter some
flying enemies. These enemies shouldn't be too hard for you, finish them off
quickly then continue through the next gate.
Right after you enter the area, go to the left. You should be back at that
cemetary, the one with the invisible chest! Use Ailish to Dispel it and claim
your Orb of Might. Again, I'd suggest using the Orb of Might on Tal.
After you're done here, continue along the path. You'll return to where you
first encountered the Grotesque. Again you'll have to battle here, but only
the flying enemies. Watch out for the spin move the large ones do. After the
battle, save your game at the Save Point. Then continue across the bridge.
Continue along the path until you come to a well. This is right before the
Grab Blocks that Tal had to move earlier. If you look closely, you'll
notice that part of the well's wall is invisible. Use Ailish to Dispel it,
then climb down the well and open the chest to claim your Eagle Totem!
You should now backtrack to the Eagle Shrine at Brightwater Beach. You can
exchange that Eagle Totem for an Orb of Vigor. It doesn't take very long to
get back, but you do have to fight a lot of enemies along the way. Once you
have the Orb of Vigor, give it to Ailish and then backtrack back to Parham
County again. Go past the Grab Blocks and the Wolf Shrine.
--------------------
Return to Molan Farm
--------------------
- Hukin's Fate
Continue along the path until you return to the Farmhouse with the Bee Hives.
The House is now unlocked and you can go inside. Do so, there are a couple of
chests. The chest in the first room only contains Florins, but the chest in
the back has another new sword for Tal. Hukin's Fate is kind of like the
Recruit Sword, but with Poison. It's probably a good idea to just keep using
Mojo. Now exit the house, and continue back to the castle.
--------------------
King's Road, Part II
--------------------
When you get back to King's Road, you'll be greeted by a HORDE of enemies.
They come in waves, so try to kill them in groups. Trying to fight one enemy
at a time won't do you any good here.
Use Combos to make this battle easier. If you have a large group of enemies in
front of Tal, then use his Shin Splitter. It also helps if you switch to
Ailish and use her Skill Strikes.
The game prompts you early on to use your Spirit Strike, don't. Wait for the
two Grotesques to appear, THEN use your Spirit Strike. Clean up any
stragglers, then return through the Castle Checkpoint to the castle.
-------------------------
Return to Illumina Castle
-------------------------
When you start to cross the bridge leading to the castle, a scene will play.
After the scene you will be in Tal's room. Exit his room, and a solder will
tell you to meet Arlo in the Training Grounds. You're now free to restock at
the shop, rest at the Inn, or upgrade your items at the Blacksmith. Do
whatever you need to do, then go meet Arlo.
Arlo will give you your new assignment, courtroom duty. Now go to the
courtroom. It's the raised part of town with the Red carpet.
Go through the doors and you will come to a circular room. Turn right, and
cross the metal bridge. It's the door on the right. When the scene is over,
you will be in control of Ailish. Return to town.
----------------------
The Road to Shadani-Mo
----------------------
Take the exit near the Puppet Master's Tent, and return to King's Road.
Continue along the path Through Molan's Farm. Continue past the Wolf Shrine
and the Empty well. After you go through the gate the path will split. You
can either go straight along the path, or left across the bridge to the place
where you fought a Grotesque for the first time. Go and use the Save Point if
you wish, then continue straight along the path through the gate. You should
see sheep in pens to the right, and there is a guy watching over them.
There is a side quest you can do here. The Shepard will give you something if
you can heard his sheep in a certain amount of time. It either costs you 50 or
100 Florins to play. If you don't do it in time, he says come back in a few
days. So I guess you have to come back later...
If you pay him 100 Florins and succeed, you'll get 50 Experience and an
Illumina Opal.
To make the game easier, heard all the sheep onto the grassy area near the
farmer before you start the game. This will also help you get used to
hearding them.
So... Continue down the road. After a bit, the path will split. Both sides
lead you to Woluf Valley, but the left path seems to be shorter with fewer
enemy encounters. The right path does have a Save Point though. Take
whichever path you prefer. When you get to Woluf Valley, you will have to
fight some Wolufs. Imagine that, Wolufs in Woluf valley... After you defeat
them, a scene will play. After the scene Ailish will get her Spirit Strike and
new armor. Now continue along the road through the two signs.
----------
Shadani-Mo
----------
- Orb of Might
- Orb of Power
- Eagle Totem
After a brisk walk, you finally reach Shadani-Mo. Use the Save point. The
shop is over the bridge across from the Save point. When you enter Shadani
Village, a short scene will play. To the right of the Blacksmith there is a
path leading uphill. There are two guards on the side, and one in the center
of the path. When you approach, the middle guard will speak to you. Now you
must speak with the village Chieftan. Afterwards, explore around the village.
There are some hidden chests and many breakables. When you're finished, visit
the Blacksmith if necessary and save your game. Then return to the path and
continue to the temple.
When you reach the outside of the temple, there will be a scene. After the
scene, enter the temple. You will have to fight some enemies, and they can
slow you. You may want to use a Sapphire Pancea.
After the fight is over, have Ailish Dispel the invisible statue. So now you
have three different colored statues to push onto the colored squares. Push
the red one onto the red square, and so on. This will unlock the blue door in
the temple.
Go through the Blue door, you will come to a Save Point. Past the Save Point
is the Fountain Room. You can walk into the Fountain to heal your Hit Points.
There isn't much else you can do in this room at the moment.
Continue on to the next area. You will enter a round room, with a large column
reaching upward. Some enemies will attack you. After you defeat them, travel
up the Spiral Ramp. Have Ailish Dispel the invisible wall. Now check the Red
Torch. Take the incense to the red marker across the bridge. Now go back and
check the Blue torch. Take the Blue incense to the Blue marker. This will
open a new path before you. As you walk toward it, you will be switched to
the other party. Now you will be in control of Buki and Elco.
You'll be on a circular balcony. The Yellow door is locked. There are two
ledges that Buki can climb to. One contains a chest with an Orb of Might in
it. The other ledge has a switch that unlocks the door. Once you've unlocked
the door, go through it.
Continue through to the next room, where you'll have to fight a few enemies.
Then exit the room. Now you'll be back in the first room of the temple, where
you had to push the red/yellow/blue statues. Kill the enemies. Now go to the
yellow crystal with Elco. Fly around to the ring on the other side of the
room. This will unlock the Red door. Enter the Red door, and continue along
the path until you see the chest. Open it to get an Orb of Power. Now
continue along the path. Save your game at the Save Point. Now enter the next
room. You'll have to fight some Light Spawns, they're tougher than the
spiders, so be cautious. Afterwards, open the chest to get a weapon for Buki.
Then continue to the next room.
In this room, you'll have to get Buki and Elco to a far ledge. For Buki, climb
along the walls to reach the ledge. For Elco, fly there. Stand Buki on one of
the symbols on the floor, and Elco on the other. This will unlock the door.
Now you'll be switched back to Tal and Ailish.
Backtrack down the hallway back to the room with all the colored torches. Go
into the room with the incense, and check the Yellow torch. Go drop the Yellow
incense in the fire, and come back for the Blue incense. Drop the Blue incense
in the fire, and this will unlock the Green path. Now enter the Treasuer room!
Open the chest to claim your Eagle Totem!
No go back to the Purple path, and continue to the door. Go through the door
to enter the Long Hallway. The door will be blocked behind you. You will
have to fight some more Light Spawn. After you defeat them, to the other end
of the room. There are two invisible statues that you have to Dispel with
Ailish. Then move them onto the squares on the floor with Tal. This will
unblock the doors. Go through the door to enter the Dragon Chamber.
In this room you'll have to move some more statues around to unblock the door
at the top of the winding ramp. Push the statues with the lightly colored orbs
onto the lighted squares on the floor. Make sure that the lighly colored orbs
point toward the blue circle on the floor in the center of the room. When you
have completed this task, the door will be unblocked. Go through the door and
save your game. Now it's time for a boss fight!
Boss Battle - Queen Ghara
------------------------- [6.2]
Difficulty: 2/5
Queen Ghara isn't very hard to beat, but you have to be patient. She's a big
girl, you aren't going to kill her in a few hits... When the fight begins,
quickly stand in front of one of the torches. There are four of them in the
room. When she begins to charge at you, quickly get out of the way. She will
collide head first with the torch, knocking her out for a few seconds. Now
get behind her and hit her with a 6 button combo or the Storm Kick. When she
starts to get up, go to the opposite side of the room. Why did you move?
Because after she gets up, she does this nova type move. You don't want to
get hit by it... Now she will move to the center of the room. First she will
spit some purple goo at you. It's pretty easy to avoid. If it does hit you,
it won't do much damage, but you will be slowed. If you walk in the residue
the purple goo leaves behind on the floor (or it hits you), it will slow you.
Use a Sapphire Pancea to get rid of the slow, and make you immune to slow for
the rest of the battle! Now she will charge at you again. Make sure you're in
front of a torch again. When she knocks herself out, attack her from behind
with all you've got. Just keep repeating this pattern to defeat her.
------------
Shadow World
------------
- Orb of Might
After the scenes start along the path ahead of you. Follow it until you reach
a Save Point. Save your game, the enemies here are pretty strong. Now go down
to one of the fences on the side and enter the next area. You'll have to fight
several enemies. Be ready to switch to Ailish and use Witch's Kiss if
necessary. After the fight, be sure to break the pots. Then continue up the
next path.
You'll come to a large gate, don't enter it yet. Follow the path rightward to
the side. Check the Ghost Orb, and open the chest for an Orb of Might. Now go
back to the large gate. When you enter this area you'll have to fight more
enemies, so heal your characters if they're injured. After the fight, continue
on to the other end of the area. The exit gate is locked. If you look behind
you there is a small gate on the side. Open the gate and go up the path to
the Save Point. Go into the house by the Save Point and speak with the man.
He will give you a new quest and unlock the gate. Now save your game and head
back to the gate below.
*Tip: If you want to level a little here, this is a good spot. You can fight
these enemies as much as you want. Kill them, then exit & enter one of the
gates so they will come again. And you can go up to the guy in the house to
get healed as many times as you want.
Now exit through the large gate, using the key you got from the guy in the
house. Now you'll have to cross another of those large bridges with ghosts
attacking you while you run across. If you picked up the Ghost Orb earlier
the ghosts will heal you instead of hurting you. When you get to the end
of the bridge the Ghost Orb will vanish. But there is another one off to the
side you can pick up, and you'll need it soon. Now go through the Hall of
Heads, nice scenery eh? And you have to cross another Ghost Bridge. Now
enter the large gate, and prepare for a boss battle.
Boss Battle - Farex Lore
------------------------ [6.3]
Difficulty: 3/5
This guy is pretty tough, and so are his friends... Hopefully you have Tal's
Iron Warrior Skill Strike, because it makes this battle a lot easier. If you
can keep Iron Warrior on your party throughout the fight, then you shouldn't
take much damage. If your party does get injured, heal them all with Ailish's
Witch's Kiss. Farex Lore is the main target, the big one! He will keep
summoning more allies to fight with him, so concentrate on taking him out.
Use Skill Strikes that affect groups so that you hit Farex Lore and his
allies. If you can get Farex Lore by himself, combo the hell out of him with
Tal. Once you've weakened him some, use Tal's Spirit Strike. Then use
Ailish's Spirit Strike. If he isn't dead now, then you won't have to try very
hard to finish him off...
Now continue through the gate and you will come to a small room with a
climbing section for Buki. Open the chest to get a new weapon for Elco first.
Then climb up with Buki. Follow the path, it's a straight shot basically.
You'll find the Navigation Stone at the end of the path. After you pick it up,
Buki will receive her Spirit Strike and an armor upgrade. Now you must go back
to the start of the Shadow World, where you first entered the Shadow World.
Make your way backwards to Hexam's house. When you get there have Hexam heal
you, then save your game and make your way to the beginning of the Shadow
World. Be sure to pick up the Ghost Orbs along the way, so you don't get
injured on the Ghost Bridges.
When you cross the final Ghost Bridge and you are back at the beginning, you
will see a strange looking man. Talk to the ferryman to exchange the Spirit
Orbs for weapons:
First 25 Orbs = Weapon for Buki
Next 25 Orbs = Weapon for Ailish
Next 25 Orbs = Weapon for Elco
Last 25 Orbs = Weapon for Tal
You don't have to collect all of the weapons, but the ones for Ailish and Elco
are pretty nice. The sword Tal gets isn't very good. But after you collect
all four weapons, the Ferryman will then trade Florins for any more Spirit Orbs
you have. Now continue down the path to the place where you entered the Shadow
World and a scene will play.
-------------------------
Return to Castle Illumina
-------------------------
- Orb of Vigor x3
- Dragon Totem
- Cat Totem x2
- Wolf Totem
- Orb of Wisdom
After the scenes, you will be left in Brightwater Village. Now you must find
a boat to rent. Use the Inn if you need to. This is an excellent time to
sell some stuff at the shop, so you can upgrade your gear at the Blacksmith.
After you're done, save you game.
Head over to the Pier beside the Inn. Off to the side of the Pier is a guy
standing beside a boat. Go and talk to him. He'll tell you to go find some
oars. Now go to the Blacksmith. There is a ledge right beside the Blacksmith
that Buki can climb down to get the oars. Once you return the oars to the
boat maker, you can set sail for Illumina Castle.
After your journey by boat, you end up on the docks beside the entrance to the
Castle Checkpoint. Now you have a choice. You can go and install the
crystal, or you can do some side quests. This is a perfect time for collecting
some stray items, because you have all four party members together.
There is an Orb of Vigor in Parham County. Go along the road until the path
splits in Parham County. Ahead of you will be the Shepard and his sheep. Take
the path to the left, and cross the bridge. Go to the save point, then go back
further past the well. There is a building that Tal can move. Then Buki can
climb the wall for the Orb of Vigor.
If you want to do the Sheep Hearding mini-game again, go ahead. Then continue
down the road past the Sheep farm into the Spirit Canyon. There's some items
to collect in Shadani-Mo!
When you reach the point where the path splits in two, take the right path into
the Path of Mo. Save at the Save Point if you wish, then continue along the
path. Continue through Woluf Valley onward to Shadani Village. When you
reach the village, go to the house with the Blacksmith on the porch. Go inside
and down into the basement. There are four chests in here. You have to move
some blocks around with Tal to get to them. They only contain Florins, but hey
upgrades aren't free you know...
Now head back to the Shadani Temple. Go into the temple and take the Blue door
on the left. Follow the path past the Save Point into the Fountain Room.
There is a climbable ledge to the right of the Fountain. Send Buki up to
collect another weapon for her, and hit the switch on the wall. Now there is
a chest on the other side of the fountain that contains an Orb of Vigor. Look
to the left, there is a gap with two Yellow crystals. Send Elco over to
retreive a Dragon Totem. Now exit the temple and return to the village.
Go to Carrick Lore's hut with Buki, it's in the far end of town. Check the
shelves in his hut for a Skull. You can get another weapon for Buki by taking
this Skull to the Hall of Heads in the Shadow World.
Go talk to Malick in the far end of town. It's the second house along the
right wall. He will tell you about the trials of Mo. These trials are
pretty tough. You can do them at this point in the game, but it isn't easy.
If you want to come back and do them later when you have a better weapon for
Buki, then you should. To get to the trials go back to the entrance to town.
To the right of the entrance is a path leading downward. Only Buki can enter
this area, she must face the trials alone. There are 5 trials. If you die,
then you fail. Here are the rewards:
The first few trials aren't so bad, it's trial 4 and 5 that will get you. Do
not waste your Spirit Strike. You'll need it when you get to Trial 5. I used
Buki's Storm Kick to deal with large crowds that I couldn't handle. You'll
need some Skill Ointments, because when trial 4 comes around you'll be using
Storm Kick more and more. When you get to Trial 5, use your Spirit Strike as
soon as there are a bunch of enemies on screen. Wait until they materialize
though. More than anything, be patient. You probably won't beat the trials
on your first try, unless you come back later in the game possibly.
After you've done/not done the trials, there's a Cat Totem in the Spirit Canyon
to collect. Just head out of Shadani-Mo toward Woluf Valley. When you get to
Woluf Valley, go into Spirit Canyon. See the bridge? If you look to the side
of the bridge, there are some vines on the wall that Buki can climb. Go over
there and climb to your Cat Totem! Now go to the Cat Shrine in the Path of Mo.
Exchange your Cat Totems for Orbs. One totem will get you an Orb of Vigor. If
you did the trials and you exchange both totems, you'll also get an Orb of
Wisdom.
Go to New Brightwater and talk to the man at the Lighthouse. He will tell you
that you need to find some things for the people in town. Speak with the
people in town, and they will tell you what they are missing. Then you must
go to Brightwater Beach and collect the items. The items will appear as boxes.
Break the boxes to get the items. You will have to leave the beach, and then
come back to get all of the items. Then return to Brightwater village and
speak with the people to get various items. One of the fishermen on the Pier
will give you a Wolf Totem for finding his missing item.
There is a boy near the Blacksmith, speak to him and he will ask you to find
him Brightwater Pearls. Fighting the crabs on Brightwater Beach is a good way
to get Pearls quickly. After you give him all the pearls he wants, he will
give you a key to his tent in the Shadani Encampment. Enter his tent with
Buki, and climb the wall to get a Cat totem.
Now it's time to go install the crystal. Return to the Castle, and visit the
machine room. The technician at the door will take your crystal, and then some
scenes will play. Afterwards, visit the courtroom with Ailish to start your
next quest.
Head out of the castle, use the same exit as always. Make your way back to
Parham County and cross the bridge by the teleporter. The cart that was
blocking a path here is gone now. Take the new path. Keep going until you
reach the Save Point. There is a trader near the Save Point if you need
supplies. The path ahead is blocked. Use Ailish to dispel the nearby switch.
Then use Buki to climb down the ledge onto a metal catwalk (no pun intended).
After you hit the switch, the bridge will be all set. But don't go back up
yet. Go to the other end of the catwalk, and climb on the wall. Climb over
the rail then down. This next catwalk leads to a room with many breakables in
it and a chest. Open the chest for a Cat Totem. Now return to the bridge.
Cross the bridge and enter the next area. You will have to fight some enemies,
then Ailish will be given her second Spirit Strike and new armor.
As you go through the gate to enter the next area, notice the Dragon Shrine
on your left. Continue down the road. Keep going until you get to some
docks. There are two paths, the path to the right leads to a telescope.
Take the left path, and speak to the Robot.
Now you will be in control of Tal & Elco, and you'll be back on Transentia
road. Move forward slowly, there should be a ladder on your left. Go down the
ladder with Elco. Use the Yellow crystal to fly to the switch across from you.
When you press the switch it unlocks a gate blocking a Chest. The gate will
close after a few seconds, so quickly fly to the right between the two metal
fences. You should be able to see the Chest, fly to it. Claim your Dragon
Totem. Now continue along the road to the Bridge that Ailish & Buki unlocked.
Go over the bridge and continue to the Dragon Shrine. Exchange your Dragon
Totems, then keep going down the road. When you reach the Docks, speak to the
Robot again.
After you disembark from the Airship, move forward along the path. A man will
stop you and ask you to fix the Elevator. He will give you two cogs that you
must place. There is no time limit, so take your time. You should see a
ladder to the right. Climb up the ladder with Elco. Then use the Yellow
crystal and fly to the left. Now climb up this ladder, and again fly to the
left. If you look to the right side of the screen, you should see a ledge with
a chest on it. Fly over to the right and open the chest for a Dragon Totem.
Now continue left to the Pump. Now check the pump to place the cogs. Now drop
back down to the bottom. Now if you look to the right side of the area past
the ladder, you'll see some Grab Blocks. Take Tal over there. Push the Block
sticking out on the side. Now you should be able to go between the middle of
the other Blocks. Go in and pull the Block in front of you out. Now you can
go through the center of the Blocks to the back and get your Wolf Totem from
the Chest. Now go to the opposite end of this area, and continue down the path
to the Elevator. A scene will play as you near the Elevator.
Go forward from the Elevator, there is a Blacksmith ahead, and a Save Point
near the Blacksmith. Purchase any upgrades you need, then save your game.
Head across the bridge and turn right. Walk along the metal catwalk, and
you'll see the Elevator with a Robot standing by the gate to it. Don't use
the Elevator yet, turn left and go down the stairs. Then go left again and
follow the path around to a Chest and some breakables. Now travel back until
you see the Inn Sign on the Catwalk's Hand Rail. Go and use the Inn if your
party is injured, otherwise go back up to the Elevator. Tell the Attendant
that you want to go up to Level 3: University & Kamos. When you get to level
3, be sure to get the chest on the left before you go up the stairs. Now
head up the stairs. When you get to the end of the Catwalk, you will see the
hatch to the University on your right.
Enter the University. Go to the right. Follow the desks around, then speak
with the Instructor. He will give you a test. If you get all of the answers
correct, you will get a Skill Potion. If you get some of the answers right you
will get a Skill Salve. Once you get all the answers right, he will not give
you the test again. But if you only get some of the answers right, he will
give you the test again. So it might be a good idea to purposely miss a
question. You can get as many Skill Salves as you want this way.
Now go up the green staircase. A scene will play when you reach the top.
When the scene is over, you will be on level 4 of the city outside the Research
Center. There is a ladder to the right of the Research Center. Climb the
ladder to find a Chest. Save your game at the Save Point. Now let's go back
to Level 3 of the city. Make your way to the Elevator and take it to level 3.
Go up the Catwalk and turn left at the University. You will see a ladder
ahead of you. Climb up the ladder with Tal and a Robot will speak with you.
Now climb up the second ladder to the platform above.
Challenge Match - War Machine
-----------------------------
Difficulty: 4/5
This guy is a tank, it will take a while to kill him. BE SURE to use Tal's
Iron Warrior Skill Strike. It will save your butt! The War Machine will
mainly attack you with short combos. With Iron Warrior on, they don't hurt
a lot. But don't just stand there taking hits, the damage will add up
eventually. When he swings at you once, you can hit him with two quick attacks
before he will attack agian. Watch out for his combo attack, he will swing up
at you then pause, then he will swing back down at you. Do not attack him
from the front while he's doing this combo, or you will take a hit for sure.
Use Shin Splitter on him as much as you want, it will speed up the fight.
The War Machine has a nova move that will hurt you a LOT. Do not
get hit by it. When you see him crouch and start charging it up, he will start
turning Blue. Quickly get to the other side of the platform so you will
hopefully be out of range. If your Iron Warrior wears off, use the Skill
Strike again. If you can use Tal's Spirit Strike, go ahead. It will make the
battle a lot shorter.
When you defeat the Death Bot it will drop a Huge Gold Bar. Bet you can't
guess what to do with that... Open the Chest for a well-earned Wolf Totem.
Now climb back down the ladders. Go to Kamo's, it is past the ladder.
Sell the Huge Gold Bar and anything else you wish to get rid of. Then
return to the Elevator. If you need to heal Tal, go use the Inn on level 2.
Then return to level 4, and go back to the Research Center entrance.
Enter the Research Center and follow the Hallway to a round room. In the
center of the room is an Elevator. Take the Elevator down. After the scenes,
you will have to fight some Z 1000s. Destroy them to unlock a nearby door.
Enter the doorway with the Green Lights. Go through the hallway until you
reach a new room. You will have to battle some Hunter-Slayers. After you
finish them off the path ahead will be unblocked.
Go to the Desk in the back of the room. There is an invisible wall, use Ailish
to Dispel it. Now you will see four switches on the wall and a door that won't
open. You have to put the switches in the right positions to open the door.
Here are the correct positions:
Switch 1 - Down
Switch 2 - Up
Switch 3 - Down
Switch 4 - Up
After you set the switches, the door will open. But there's another door
behind it! Here are the correct positions to unlock the Second door:
Switch 1 - Up
Switch 2 - Down
Switch 3 - Up
Switch 4 - Up
Now that the second door is open, collect some treasure! Dispel the invisible
Chest with Ailish to get the Wizardwood Stave. Open the Chest next to it to
get the Master Keycard. Now head back to the Entrance room. Now that you have
the Master Keycard you can unlock the Door with the Red lights. Go through it.
You will come to the Computer Room. You'll have to fight some Z 2000s. After
you beat them a scene will play. Go up the stairs to the right of the Door to
Krenn. Save your game at the Save Point, then go through the door. Go through
the hallway until you reach an Elevator room. Look at the left wall, there is
a climbing section for Buki. Go over to it, then climb to the Power Switch
for the elevator. Now return to the elevator in the center of the room.
Hit the Green switch. After you reach level 2, hit the Green switch again.
When you get to level 3 go through the door. Go down the path to the mining
area. You will have to battle Extractoclaws to get the raw minerals. After
the fight is over, return up the path. When you get back to the elevator for
the raw minerals a scene will play. Now the Processing Room's door is open.
Return to the Elevator room and push the Blue button to go up to level 2.
Now enter the Processing Room.
Go through the hallway until you reach the door to the Processing Room.
Go to the open area in the middle of the room, and a battle will commence.
After the fight, Buki will receive her second Spirit Strike and an Armor
upgrade. Now go back to the door, it is now locked. To the right of the door
is a climbing section for Buki. You can't get to it yet though. Use Tal to
pull the Battery nearest you. This will lower a platform so Buki can get to
the climbing section. When Buki reaches the top, move forward a little. A
scene will play. Now you must power the platforms for Buki. Push one of the
Batteries against the platform in front of Buki. Now push the other Battery
in front of the Platform that Buki is now trying to get to. Buki will jump
to the next platform. Now take the Battery from the platform behind her, and
move it to the platform in front of her. When she makes it to the other side,
a short scene will play. Now that you have the processed minerals, return to
the elevator room. press the Blue button to go up to level 1. Now return to
the Computer Room. Save your game at the Save point, then take the Processed
Minerals to Elco. A scene will play and you will have to fight some more
enemies. Now Elco will have to activate two switches.
Go up the stairs on the left side of the Door to Krenn. Stand by the Yellow
Crystal until your jetpack is full. Now quickly climb up the ladder. Fly
across to the next platform, then climb up the second ladder. Now if you
look below you, there are the switches. Fly down to one of them and activate
it. Then fly to the next switch if you have enough fuel left in your Jetpack.
If you need to go back to the Yellow Crystal, do it. After you hit both
switches, another scene will play. Go to the elevator with Elco and save your
game. Then use the elevator in the center.
Boss Battle - Krenn
------------------- [6.4]
Difficulty: 3/5
This battle isn't that hard -IF- you keep moving. You should be moving around
Krenn in a circular pattern, shooting at his Red Eye the whole time. Elco's
Nano-Enhancement Skill Strike is your best friend for this battle. The Proton
Phaser works really well for this fight, since it fires rapidly. You'll be
missing a lot, because if you stop you'll get hammered. So the Proton Phaser
is probably your best bet, use the Nano-Enhancement to boost its damage.
Krenn's most powerful attack is a Laser Beam. He charges up briefly before
firing it. DO NOT get hit by it. If it doesn't kill you in one hit, it will
take away nearly all of your health. Moving in a circular pattern should keep
you safe. Krenn will also come up to you and try to swing at you. This attack
isn't as powerful as the laser beam, but it will still hurt. Again, just keep
moving in a circular pattern.
When you get Krenn down to about 60% of his health, he will roll into a ball
again. An arm will extend from the ceiling, SHOOT IT. The arm will heal
Krenn. The longer the arm stays out, the more health Krenn will get back.
Destroy the arm as quickly as you can. You may want to switch to a more
powerful gun to destroy the arm faster. Watch out for the Suicide Bots that
will come after you while the arm is out. Once the arm is gone, Krenn will
resume his normal attack patterns. He will try to heal himself four times.
You must destroy the arm each time. After you've destroyed the fourth arm, he
will no longer heal himself. Now you can destroy him for good.
There will be suicide bots out all the time now, so don't let one explode by
you. Don't go after them though, concentrate your fire on Krenn. He will
do a spin move now, so don't get too close to him.
After the fight you will get a lot of experience and a new scroll. Now use the
elevator to go back up. Return to the Computer Room. After the scene, exit
the Computer Room. Return to the main Elevator room and go back up. Now exit
the Research Center. Talk to Professor Hayton, then save your game. Your
party is probably in less than perfect shape, so now is a good time to take
a trip to the Inn. Go to the Elevator and go down to Level 2. Go in the Inn.
The guy from the Elevator at the Docks should be there. Talk to him to get
some Luster Wines. Then talk to the Robot Servant to rent a room. Now that
you're rested, exit the Inn. Talk to the Female Robot outside the Inn. She
will ask you to find her Heart.
To get her Heart, go back to the Research Center. You have to go back to the
Computer Room, and take the Elevator down to Level 3. Then go down to the
mining area, where you fought the Extractors. If all goes well, you will be
attacked by Extractors again. If you get down there and don't get attacked,
you'll have to exit the Research Center, then come back again. You'll be
attacked by Extractors again, kill them to get her Heart back. Take her Heart
back to her for a Dragon Totem. Now take the Elevator up to Level 5.
Go up the stairs, then go to the right. Take the long winding catwalk down
to the mining area below. There is a chest with some Florins in it. Now
return up the catwalk. Go to the Observatory at the far end of Level 5. On
your way there, you should notice a climbing section for Buki on the right
wall. The climbing section leads to a locked door. You have to get the key
from Milly Lupa in the Observatory. Talk to Milly and she will tell you that
she is looking for Omnium. Give her the Omnium that you've collected so far.
At first she will give you items. After you collect enough Omnium, she will
give you the key to the room for Buki. You can collect as much Omnium as you
want by going back to the Research Center and fighting the machines. After
you get the key from Milly, return to the climbing section. Climb up there
and unlock the door. The chest in the room contains an Eagle Totem.
Before you continue on to Crystal Reef, now is the time to finish up any
sidequests in Illumina. You should now get ALL of the character's ultimate
weapons. Just visit the Shrines and exchange all your totems. Once you've
collected all 4 Ultimate Weapons, return to Transentia.
Now is the time to stock up, heal your party at the inn, or use the
Blacksmith. After you're done, back to level 4. Save your game at the Save
Point, then head right past the Research Center to the Portal site. Hayton
will meet you there. When you arrive talk to Hayton, then scene will play.
After the scene, you will be in the Shadow World at the portal hub. Walk
around the circle of portals until you find the one to Crystal Reef. Use it.
------------
Crystal Reef
------------
- Orb of Sanctuary
- Orb of Vigor
- Orb of Might
- Orb of Wisdom
After the scene is finished, circle around to the back of the building near
you. There is a chest with some Florins in it. Now go down the path near
the Portal into the town below. When you come down the stairs, go right over
the bridge into town. Keep going straight along the street until you can
make a left. After you turn left, go straight along the bridge. Right after
you cross the bridge, there is a large rock on the left. There is a chest
behind the rock with some Florins. Now get back on the path. Follow the path
until you come to an invisible bridge. Use Ailish to Dispel the bridge. In
the small forest ahead is a chest with the Chilltip Cane for Ailish in it.
Now head back to town. The Blacksmith is where Kamos was in Brightwater
Village. There is a Save Point near where the Inn should be. Kamo's shop is
the house opposite of Finbar's Boathouse along the main path in town. Now head
for the exit out of town past the Blacksmith. To the left is the entrance to
the graveyard. There is an invisible chest in the graveyard. Dispel it to get
an Orb of Sanctuary.
Now continue up the path out of town. You will come to the area on the right
where the Shadani Encampment should be. Now there is a mansion there. Enter
Mewsley's mansion. Speak with Mewsley, then return to the village. The Church
is the first building on the right. Speak with the man standing in front of
it. Now go to the docks and speak with Finbar. Now enter the Boathouse with
Tal. Pull the block nearest you to the side. Now pull the middle block
outward toward the door. Now pull the last block out toward the door. Now you
can get the Holy Symbol from the chest. Take the Symbol back to Casser at the
church. After the scene enter the Church. You can speak with Casser by the
alter to be healed. Speak with the boy in front of the alter.
Now return to Mewsley's Mansion and speak with him. A scene will play then
you will be in front of the Elevator. Walk onto the Elevator and ride it
down. As you walk off the elevator another scene will play, then you will
be inside the Dead Fish Cave. Continue forward through the cave. A scene
will play when you come to the wall with a Picture on it. After the scene
continue forward. You will enter a large room with a doorway in the center.
A scene will play and you will be left with Buki & Ailish. You will have to
fight some Hyd. Warriors and Hyd. Myrmidons. AFter the fight, a gate will
unlock in the center of the room. Go up the path in the center. When you
reach the Large statue, stand in the circle on the floor in front of it. This
will unlock a door in the room and give you your quest. Now cross the bridge
and save your game. Now go back down, and enter the doorway you just unlocked.
You'll see a large staircase in front of you, and a door to the right of the
staircase. Take the door, and go through the hallway to the next door. Go
thruogh the door and follow the pathway to the end. You'll see something
invisible, Dispel it with Ailish. Now ride the platform. When you get to
the island, Dispel the next platform and ride it. You'll come to a climbing
section for Buki. Climb up and hit the switch, another floating platform will
appear. Ride it to the chest on the far wall, you'll get a Shell Key. Now
make your way backwards to the room with the Large staircase.
Go up the stairs. You'll first come to a point where the stairs continue
going up, and there is a path of stairs leading down. Go down the stairs to
a small area with a chest and some breakables. Now go back up the stairs and
continue going up. You'll come to a part where the path splits. But you
can't take the right path, because there is a gap in the stairs. So go left.
Take the first path to the right. Save your game, and then go through the
door. In this room, you will have to hit switches to move bridges around.
Go forward with Buki, and climb up the wall. Hit the green button. Then flip
the switch beside it. Now hit the Green button again. Now switch to Ailish.
Cross the first bridge, then flip the switch on the wall under Buki. Now cross
the second bridge, and flip the second switch. Now switch to Buki and hit
the green button. Now switch to Ailish. Follow the new bridge to a chest with
an Orb of Vigor in it. Now go back across the bridge to the switch. Flip the
switch again. Now switch to Buki again and hit the Green button. The bridge
will move from the right to the left. Go across the bridge with Ailish.
Move forward toward the giant shell. Stand on one of the circles, then switch
to Buki. Take Buki to the end of the ledge and climb down, then go stand on
the other circle. When the shell opens, claim your pearl. Now make your way
backwards to the stairs room.
When you get back to the Endless Stairs room, go straight along the path ahead
of you. Go past the invisible object into the small room full of breakables.
Now Dispel the invisible bridge and open the door. Go through the door to the
next area. You'll see a large green button in front of you. Hit the button
to hear the melody. Now go to the left path. There are five circles on the
ground. You have to stand on them in a certain order to match the melody.
Now this gets a little tricky... Go to the dark corner behind the circles.
You should be looking at the lantern on the other side of the circles. You'll
notice that they circles almost form the shape of a pentagon. Here is the
order to stand on the circles:
Lantern in front...
2
4 5
1 3
Dark corner behind you...
When you enter the melody correctly, it almost forms a star in the pentagon
(aka a pentagram). Be sure to stand on each circle for a few seconds before
moving to the next one. Now you will be able to get the pearl. Go past the
green button to the other side of the room. Walk up to the pool of water and
check it to get the pearl. Now return to the large room with the statue in it,
and place your two pearls on the statue. After the scene, walk across the
bridge and save your game. Then go down and go through the doorway. Travel
down the hall until you come to another door. Go through. Save your game at
the Save Point on the left, then travel down to the platform in the center. A
scene will play, and you will be left with only Ailish.
Boss Battle - Nassaria
---------------------- [6.5]
Difficulty: 1/5
This battle isn't as hard as you might think. It's all about dodging the tail.
First she will swipe at you with her spear. Then she will stab at you. Then
she will swing her tail at you. During the spear attacks, stay to the right
of her, as far back as possible. She won't be able to hit you. When it's
time for her to attack with her tail, move a little to the left and her tail
will miss you. Now she will jump in the water. You won't be able to see her
while she is underwater. Look at your map in the upper-left part of the
screen. The Red Dot on your map is where she will appear next, turn your view
so that the Yellow Cone on the map covers the Red Dot. Now when she appears,
she will be right in front of you. Again, stay to the right during her spear
attacks, then move left when she swings with her tail. Just repeat this
process until you get her down to about 60% of her health.
When you get her life down to around 60% her attack pattern will change
slightly. First she will do a stab with her spear, then swipe her tail.
Then she'll stab again. Then she'll jump straight at you. Stay to the right
during her first stab. Now you have an option. You can try to hit her with
a Skill Strike (such as Blaze Ball), which will make you invulnerable long
enough to keep her tail from hurting you. Or you can just move to the left
while her tail swings, then move back to the right. Stay to the right when she
jumps at you, and she will miss you. Just repeat this pattern until you finish
her off. If you get hurt and need to heal, just fire up Witch's Kiss.
After the battle you will get a new scroll. Now walk back across the bridge
toward the exit. A scene will play, and then you will be left with Tal and
Elco. Tal will receive his Second Spirit Strike and new armor. Save your
game. Now go through the door and go up the path. You'll come to a large
room with two doors. But one of the doors is invisible, so take the other one.
Follow the path, it will lead you back into the Endless Stairs room. Right
after you enter the room, the path will split. Take the left path really
quick and open the Chest for some Florins. Then go back and take the right
path. Go down the path until you come to a Save point. Save your game and
then continue on. You'll come to "The Maze." Don't panic though, it's not
much of a maze. Take the left path, and then the next path will be slightly to
the left. Then take a right and go through the tunnel. Keep going along the
path, you will have to fight enemies along the way. Eventually you'll come to
a room where the path splits. The left path will have stairs leading up, go to
the right path. There's a chest with some Florins. Now go back to the left
path and go up the stairs. Continue down the path. You'll come to a room
with two large shells and a chest. Open the chest to get a new sword for Tal.
Now look closely at that pillar in the back of the room. You can pull it with
Tal. Now enter the hole in the wall you just made. You'll be back in the
Siren chamber with the giant statue. Save your game. Now head out of the Dead
Fish Cave, and return to Mewsley's Elevator. Now go speak with Lord Mewsley.
He will give you the Key to Crystal Reef, and allow you to have the items in
his Warehouse. Speak with him again, and ask him about Ailish & Buki. Then
go to the Warehouse, it's beside the boathouse at the entrance to the Docks.
Open the two chests in the warehouse. You'll notice the fence in the center
needs to be Dispelled, you'll have to come back later with Ailish.
------------------------
Road to Cyantine Citadel
------------------------
Follow the road up past Mewsley's Mansion and out of Crystal Reef. Keep going
along the path, and you'll come to a trader. Sell any items if you need money,
then continue along the path through the tunnel. You'll come to a sign with a
picture of a Volcano on it. It points to the right. Take the left path.
There will be a Wolf Shrine on the Right side, if you have any Wolf Totems left
to exchange. Continue forward along the path, until you come to a bridge on
the right. Cross the bridge and you will see a sign with a picture of an
anchor on it. It's pointing to the right, leading back to town. Go left.
Keep going until you see another Volcano sign. This sign points to the left.
The path on the right leads to a Climbing section for Buki, but you don't have
her in your party right now. So take the left path. When you reach the bottom
of the path, you will see a ladder on your left. Climb down the ladder with
Elco, then climb down the second ladder.
This is a flying section for Elco. There is a Dragon Shrine and a Yellow
Crystal. If you have any Dragon Totems left, exchange them. Now charge up
Elco's jetpack at the Yellow Crystal. Fly across the lava to the platform
in front of you. Charge up his jetpack again at this Yellow Crystal. Now
fly forward, and to the right a little to the next platform. Walk to the
Yellow Crystal at the other end of the Platform, and charge up. NOw fly to
the round Platform with the Yellow Crystal on top. It has a ladder on the
side. Use the ladder. Now charge up at the Yellow Crystal and look a little
to the right of the ladder. There is a round platform directly in front of
you. The round platform has nothing on it, but there is another Platform after
it with a Yellow Crystal. Fly past the round Platform in the middle to the
next Yellow Crystal. Now look down the path of this Platform. There is
another Yellow Crystal and a Chest on a Platform off in the distance. Fly out
to it. Now look to right of the Yellow Crystal. There is a chest on a
Platform below you. There is an archway in front of the platform. Charge up,
then fly out toward the Platform. When you get to the archway, you'll have to
let go of the A button to have Elco sink a little. You have to descend far
enough to be able to fly through the archway to the platform. When you get
there, open the chest to receive a new weapon for Elco. Now that you have
the new weapon, the fastest way to get back to the start is to jump in the
lava. When you get back to the Dragon Shrine, climb up the ladders.
Now continue along the path into Devil's Belch Canyon. There are two exits.
One is on the left, it leads to Cyantine Citadel. The other exit is on the
right, it leads to the Aklorian Stronghold. Take the left exit to Cyantine
Citadel. Go down the bridge, then go down the second bridge. Continue
through this area, you'll see a sign ahead on the right. Go up the path by
the sign. Now you'll be in Ashenbark Woods. Go forward and to the left.
This next path leads to a Portal and a Save Point. Save your game. Now
continue past the save point, and into the Abandoned Checkpoint. When you
come to the large Door at the end, go through. As you walk forward toward the
long drawbridge, a scene will play. After the scene you'll be ambushed on the
drawbridge. Kill the enemies, then continue through the large metal gate.
Save your game, then continue forward through the cracked doors. You'll see a
large metal gate, but it's locked. You'll have to use Tal and Elco to unlock
it. There are 5 blocks on your left. You don't have to do anything with the
3 blocks on the left. Go to the first of the 2 blocks on the right. Pull it
back. Then push it in front of the 3 blocks on the left. Now there are 4
blocks on the left. Now there is only one block left on the right, pull it
back. Now you can access the Yellow Crystal behind the blocks. Immediately
after you exit the room with the blocks, there are some stairs on the right.
They lead to a ladder. Go charge up Elco's jetpack, then climb up the ladder.
Now fly over to the area ahead of you on the right, near the broken stairs.
Climb up the ladder, and go along the path and flip the switch. Now take the
stairs down, Elco will float back down to the room with the metal gate. Now
you can go through the large metal gate. After you kill the enemies, go to the
right. There is a door on the left. Beside the door is an illusion. Go
through the door. Now cross the East Bridge, a scene will play. During the
scene, Elco will receive his First Spirit Strike and new armor.
-----------------
To The Stronghold
-----------------
Orb of Power
After the scene is over, you'll be in the Darkened Garden. Now you will have
Tal in your party, and three new characters: Nico, Alexine, and Kazel. There
is a Save Point to your left, save your game. The Garden has a Blacksmith,
Inn, and Shop. You'll probably want to upgrade your new party's equipment.
Nico, Alexine, and Kazel start with runeless equipment. Use the Inn if Tal is
injured, and restock at Kamos if you need items. Then head to the exit. Go
back across the East Bridge, and go through the door. Immediately after you
go through the door, look to the right. Dispel the illusion with Alexine.
Then go along the path with Nico. Climb up to and open the chest for an Orb of
Power. Now make your way back through the castle to the Abandoned Checkpoint.
Then head through the Abandoned Checkpoint to Ashenbark Woods. Now continue on
to Devil's Belch Canyon. When you cross the two bridges and come to the sign
pointing to Cyantine Citadel, go to the left. Go across the bridge by the
sign pointing to the Aklorian Stronghold. Right after the bridge, there is an
Eagle Shrine on the right. Continue forward. Take the path leading up by the
Aklorian Stronghold sign. Now go forward and go up the next ramp. Kill the
enemies then go up the Hill on the right. Now the path will split three ways.
The path in the middle with the Aklorian sign leads to the Aklorian Stronghold.
The path on the left has a Purple Banner. The path on the right has two Blue
Banners. Take the left path.
Save your game at the Save Point, then head up the ramp to the Tree of Woe.
You will have to fight some enemies. After you kill them you will be rewarded
with a new sword for Tal and a new scroll. Now head back to the right path;
the one with the blue banners. There is a chest with some Florins, and a
person who will tell you about the enemies in Akloria. When you're done,
return to the path in the Middle; the one with the sign. Take the middle path.
You'll come to an illusion blocking your path. Use Alexine to Dispel it. Then
continue forward. After a long walk, you'll come to a Portal. Go past the
Portal to the Drawbridge. After you cross the Drawbridge it will collapse
behind you.
The large door in front of you is locked, so take the stairs on
the right. All of the doors up here are locked. Walk straight ahead from the
stairs, and you will see an illusion on the left. Dispel it with Alexine.
There are two holes in the section of wall opposite the blocks. Use Tal to
push the blocks into the wall so that the holes are filled. Now switch to Nico
and go down the stairs near where the blocks where. Climb up the wall on the
right. Run along the wall and flip the switch. This will unlock the Middle
door. Return to your party, and enter the Middle door. You will come to a
puzzle where you have to move several blocks with Tal. The object is to make
a path to the Climbing wall in the upper right corner for Nico. When you first
enter the room, push the block right beside the door down. The two blocks in
the lower right corner do not need to be moved. Now move the blocks from in
front of the Climbing wall. Climb up with Nico and flip the switch. This
will unlock the door to the right of the stairs. Climb down and return to the
main room, go through the door you just unlocked. After the Scene, flip the
switch on the wall to unlock the main door into the castle courtyard. Now
return to the main castle entrance.
When you enter the main door into the courtyard, you'll see a scene of an
enemy ringing the bell. Then a fight will start. During this fight, you must
keep any enemies from ringing the bell. If an enemy rings the bell, more
enemies will come. To defeat the enemies, you must kill all of them before
they can ring the bell. Just try to stay near the bell, so that you can
quickly attack any enemies that come near it. After the fight, go through the
large door between the two cannons. You'll have to fight some more enemies.
The door opposite the one you came through is locked. It has two
counterweights that you'll have to lift to open it. Go to the door on the side
to the left of the locked door. Open the chest beside Carlos to get another
sword for Tal. Then go through the Blue Door. Check the fountain to get
healed, then go through the next door.
Kill the two Ogres. Go through the gate with Kazel. This puzzle can be
tricky. The key is not blocking the ladders. Pull the block to the left of
the first ladder out. Then push it to the right past the ladder. Now take
the path around the right side of the first ladder. There are two ladders back
here. You can't get to either of them because of the blocks. Pull out the
block on the end. Now there will be a path from one ladder to the next, but
you will have to go back and climb the first ladder to get to it. Go up the
first ladder, and down the next ladder. Now climb the new ladder you just
unblocked. Go to the ladder going down. In this area, you will see the
ladder going up to the switch on the wall, but it is blocked. Pull the block
in the way out. But you won't be able to move it any further. There is a
block under the bridge you just came over, push it back behind the bridge.
Now go back up the ladder. Go down the next ladder, there is a path to the
right, but it is blocked. Push the block out of your way. Now go down the
path and move the block you pushed under the bridge against the wall. Now
pull the block near the ladder to the switch under the bridge. Use the ladders
to return to the final ladder. You'll notice that the ladder needs to be
lowered before you can climb it. Return to the very first ladder, near the
steps. There is a ladder right beside the steps, but it is blocked. Pull out
the blocks and push them to the right of the First ladder. Once you have
unblocked the ladder by the steps, climb it and go down the next ladder. Flip
the switch, now return to the final ladder that leads up to the switch for
the counterweight. Climb up and pull the block to complete the puzzle.
Check the fountain again if you need to heal. Then head back to Carlos' room.
Exit Carlos' room through the other door. You'll be back in the room with
the counterweight door. Go to the door opposite Carlos' door. Save your game.
Now go through the door opposite the Save Point. After you kill the enemies
in the kennels, go through the next door. When you enter the room, a battle
will start. You have to destroy the Three Blue Tubes on each side of the room.
There are Six of them in all. If you don't destroy them, the enemies will
keep coming. After the battle, enter the gate in the middle of the room with
Tal. Nico will climb up the wall. You have to move the Blue Bridges to make
a path for her. The first bridge you will need is right in front of you.
Pull it out to the right, then pull it back to seal the gap for Nico. Now you
have to get the bridge to close the gap on the left. It's in the upper left
corner. Get behind the platform blocking the path ahead of you. Push it
toward the first bridge, then against the glowing glass containers on the side.
The purpose of this being to get it out of your way, since you won't be using
it. Now go to the upper right corner. Pull out the angled bridge, and push it
to the side. Now bring the straight bridge down to the left gap that Nico is
standing by. After it is in place she will walk across. Now push the first
bridge forward to the next gap. Now go to the side where the two useless
platforms are. Leave the one blocking Nico alone for now, pull the one beside
it out, then push it against the opposite wall. Now pull the block in Nico's
Way. Now you can move the angled Bridge from the Upper Left to Nico. You'll
also need the straight bridge that's still in the gap on the left wall. Pull
the useless block beside the straight bridge back toward the entrance. Now
push the sideways bridge forward, and into the corner where the angled bridge
used to be. Now pull out the straight bridge, and push it over to Nico. She
will activate the counterweight.
Now return to the room with the counterweights. To the left of the door is a
ladder, climb up it with Alexine. Walk to the other side of the platform, and
climb the second ladder. Then Dispel the Illusion to your left. A scene will
play, then you will have to fight a beast.
Boss Battle - Behemoth
---------------------- [6.6]
Difficulty: 2/5
This guy is a major tank, it will take SEVERAL hits to kill him. He deals out
a lot of damage if he hits you, so at the start of the battle use Iron Warrior.
Before you can hurt him, you have to hit the two switches on either side of
him. There are tracks pulsing with blue light going from the switches to the
Behemoth. He will shoot golden energy beams at you when you go for the switch.
If you use Iron Warrior, they don't hurt much at all. So just go after the
switches and ignore the beams he shoots at you.
Once you've hit both switches, go to the center and attack him. Attack him
from behind, where he can't hit you. He will swing his axe at you, very
slowly, so don't get hit by it. After he swings his axe, combo him. He will
swing his axe a second time, then you will hear a warning siren go off. When
you hear this siren, quickly move behind one of the barracades. There are four
of them in the room. Move to the nearest one. He will charge up, and then
release a VERY POWERFUL energy nova. After the nova, you'll have to hit the
switches again. Repeat this process until he is dead. Use whatever you have
to inflict as much damage to him as possible. Use your skill attacks and your
spirit strike. This guy can take a lot of punishment...
------------------
Return to Illumina
------------------
After the scene is over, you will need to return to Cyantine Citadel. Exit
out of the Akorian Stronghold. Use the portal outside the Stronghold to
return to the Shadow Realm. From the Shadow Realm, use the Devil's Belch
Portal. This will put you right outside the Abandoned Checkpoint. Enter
the Citadel. As you enter, a scene will play. Then you will be in control of
Elco. Elco will have a choice to make, pick the option you like best. Then
Talos will join your party. Now you must return to Illumina Castle. So head
back to the portal in Devil's Belch, it's right outside the Abandoned
Checkpoint. Return to the Shadow Realm, and take the Illumina Countryside
Portal. Return to Illumina Castle, as you exit the Castle Checkpoint a scene
will play.
After the scene is over, you must go find Tilly in the Queen's Garden. She is
in the middle section, almost right after you enter the garden. After you
speak with Tilly, you must then return her safely to New Brightwater. This is
an escort mission, so you must keep her alive. A powerful weapon that knocks
enemies down is the perfect tool for this job, so the Ion Fluxinator makes an
excellent choice. You'll be on the castle's drawbridge when the scenes are
finished, so head through the Castle Checkpoint, and make your way to New
Brightwater. You will have to fight many enemies along the way, so be sure to
have your Quickshot items all set. You'll want mostly Health potions, but some
skill potions too. As you exit King's Road into Molan Farm, Tetsu will give
Elco his second Spirit Strike and new armor. Now continue to New Brightwater.
Save your game as you come to Save Points along the way. When you get to
New Brightwater, head to Densi's house.
--------
The Void
--------
After the scene is over, head to the Portal by the Lighthouse. Go to the Realm
of Shadows, then take the Devil's Belch Portal. Now go to the Darkened Gardens
in the Cyantine Citadel. Go to the door with the Save Point to trigger a
scene. Afterwards, save your game. If you need to finish any sidequests, now
is the time to do it... If you're ready to face the final boss, talk to
Caprine.
Boss Battle - Talos
------------------- [6.7]
Difficulty: 3/5
Be sure to cast Iron Warrior at the beginning of the battle. Talos will
attack with combos, so your best bet is to block his attacks, and then counter
with a combo of your own. Don't use your Spirit Strike yet, but you can use
whatever Skill Strikes you want.
After you get him down to about 80% of his health, he will start using the
Path of the Warrior Skill Strike. This will slow you down, but he will still
be moving quickly. This is a good time to use Skill Strikes, Blade Dance
works well.
After you get him down to about 60%, he will summon copies of himself. Now
there will be four of Talos. Now is the time to use your Spirit Strike.
When you get his health down to around 20%, he will attack you with a blow that
will leave you with 1 Hit Point. Quickly use a potion that will heal ALL of
your Hit Points, such as a Miracle Potion or Royal Potion. Now finish him off!
#1 When you take the exit near the Puppet Master out of the South Courtyard of
Illumina Castle you will see a locked door on the right. Go up the stairs on
left and hit the switch. Then run back to the chest before the time runs out.

totem.
#4 Fight the War Machine in Transentia. There is a detailed section on the

to the Treasure room, go to the round room where you have to mix the colored
incense to unlock the path. The Green path leads to the Treasure room.
#4 Do the Omnium collection quest for Miss Lupa in the Observatory in
Transentia. You can get all the Omnium you need in the Research Center. She
will give you the key to unlock the door to the power room on level 5, you'll
have to use Buki to climb up to it.
Dragon Totems
-------------
#1 In the fountain room of the Temple of Mo there is a flying section for Elco.
Fly across the gap to get a Dragon totem.
#2 On the road to Transentia you will come to a ladder on the left side. It's
near the trader. Climb down the ladder, and fly across the gap and hit the
switch. Then fly between the two gates to the chest for a totem.
#3 Right after getting off the Airship in Transentia climb up the ladder on the
right. There is a platform on the right side of the screen just out of sight,
fly over to it and get a totem.

you to retrieve her heart. it's in the Research Center. Go back to the
Computer Room, then take the elevator down to level 3 past the processing room.
In the mining area, you will have to fight some more extractors. If they don't
appear, exit the Research Center and come back. After you kill the Extractors
and get her Heart, take it back to her for a totem.
Cat Totems
----------
#1 In the Spirit Canyon, near Woluf Valley; there is a bridge. On one side of
the bridge there is a climbing section for Buki along the canyon wall near a
waterfall. Climb along the wall to get a Cat totem.
#2 You will get a Cat totem for completing the Trials of Mo. The entrance to
the trials is hidden near the entrance to Shadani Village. You will need
Ailish to Dispel the entrance, and only Buki can enter the trials. You will
also need Malick's permission to enter, his tent is near the village chief's
tent.
#3 After you return from the Shadow Realm, there is a boy in New Brightwater
near the Blacksmith. He will ask you to collect pearls for him. After you
get him all the pearls he wants, he will give you a key to his tent. Enter
his tent and climb the wall for a Cat totem.
#4 On the road to Transentia, you will have to climb down a ladder and flip a
switch to lower part of the bridge. There is a climbing section on the wall
near the switch. Climb over and go around to find a chest with a Cat totem in
it.
