2004-09-03 [Vesthrix]: I've started making an RPG system thats based inpart on Fallout's "Special" system desined for text rpgs: Burn Up. I have drifted away from that to make it frendly to other sorts of games and RPGers that haven't (poor things) played Fallout. I however would be willing to make a special version of Burn up for a Fallout game. Thats another option for the poll.

2004-09-04 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I think what you mentioned is a pretty good idea. It would definitely beat some of the other RPGs in here. Let me know more about it as you get it set up.

2005-08-17 [Vesthrix]: Should I but that banner up in my house?

2005-08-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Yeah, go for it. I'm going to put them into Fallout Art for right now.

2005-08-18 [og_ghost]: Holy crap! You made Burn Up? I remember going through that so long ago. However, I think a Fallout RPG should stick to the Fallout system - if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? And the Fallout system sure as hell ain't broke.

2005-08-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Well, since we have some numbers to work with, which I don't think we had at the time of the poll, we'll most likely stick with the Fallout system now.

2005-08-18 [Vesthrix]: Except, from my experience using it PnP, it's broke. Oh well, I can always set up a converson system. No to mention that I would like to pull the Burn Up system back closer to fallout.

2005-08-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Why do you say it's broke? Inquiring minds wish to know.

2005-08-18 [Vesthrix]: I don't remember all the specifics but it didn't work for us. Let's see here: Dice rolls were slow and complexed there for easy to make mistakes in, ranged weapon had problems with being overly powerful. Then again it wasn't the most experienced guy running it and on ET we don't have to worry about being fast fire since combats going to take a few weeks anyway.

2005-08-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I agree. In here, the dice rolls will definitely be easy to balance with the flow of roleplaying. I'm rereading the data you sent me, so I'll check to see what can be done about ranged weapons.
