Passive or Aggressive: Passive, Makara are only interested in eating crustaceans.

Common Attacks
Trunk, Like a powerful arm or tentacle, Makara can use their trunks to grab sailors from ships and wring them around like ragdolls.
Tusks, much like an elephant, the Makara can pierce through hulls with large tusks projecting from their mouths.
Physical, since the Makara are very large, they are also very strong and able to ram their bodies at speeds high enough to capsize vessels.

Description
Makara are a species of whale that has developed unique features that make them appear far more elephant like. Oddly, they have trunks, which tuck under their mouths to ease streamlining. To add to their elephant-like appearance, these whales have two tusks that protrude from their mouths much like that of the trunked megafauna. The trunk is most likely used for (as anyone's best guess) grabbing and detecting large crustaceans deep under the ocean waves, and their tusks make for excellent fish killers as they swipe back and forth through large schools. These whales, like all cetaceans, migrate from tropics to the tundra region following their prey. Sailors aren't really troubled by these beasts, unless a male thinks the vessel they travel on is another hostile male or the sailors strike first for whaling purposes.
