"Mermicolions have two powerful mandibles with which they hold their prey and another two pairs with which they chew and grind them into digestible pulps."

Earth Element Magic
"Mermicolions only have very limited earth magic, rarely anything other than sand-related."
-Sand: (uses 1 Faith) Summons the grainy clouds for an aura of protection that fogs enemy vision, reducing their accuracy by Magic Level 4 as well as lowering enemy Stamina by 1 for every turn inside the sand cloud.
-*Quicksand: (Uses 1 Faith) Effects all targets (including allies) , If target moves or dodges attacks during battle, they use stamina based on their size (Small: 0.5, Average/Small: 1, Average: 1.5, Average/Big: 2, Big: 2.5, etc.). All enemy targets moving within quicksand take cummulative damage per turn while quicksand in effect. (1 for 1st turn, 2 for second turn, 3 for 3rd turn, etc)

Burrow
"Mermicolions are large a slow, and the divots they make within the crust are enough that they are easily noticed."
(Uses 2 Stamina) Allows the monster to dig underground, dropping all opponent's Accuracy towards monster by Agility Level 1. User may also move when burrowed and perform a "surprise attack" that gives away position.

Whirlsand
"Mermicolions have incredible control over the sands surrounding them. They use this control to make funnels that drag their prey towards their hungry mouths. No one has accurately measured the range of this whirlsand, but it is suspected to be well over fifty yards."
(Uses 3 Stamina) Allows the monster to draw all targets one range closer to it mouth, if at short range the character is "eaten". If "eaten", a character will take 1 damage to health every turn until freed when monster is killed, if not freed in time then character is digested/dead.

Drops
When killed the monster will drop...
- Carapace: A supply for the creation of leather armors. (Enough for ~5 hardened leather, or ~3 bone studded leather)
- Ant Lion Pincers (x2): A weapon supply. if brought to a Blacksmith of B Rating or Higher, can forge a Mandible Scimitar. A Weapon which gains the bonuses of Insect Demonic material, without altering the weilder to darkness.
- Essence of Earth: Allows Potion Makers, Chemists, and Alchemists to make "Quicksand" potions.

Description

Mermicolions are a dangerous ambush predator of the Centran Desert. If not for their Sandworm competitors, these "Ant Lions" would certainly be the top predator of the region. Sometimes mimicry of the duel between Sperm Whale and Kraken can be seen imitated in the sands of the Centran continent by Sand Worms and Mermicolions. The "Ant Lions" are powerful but they are more often prey than predator to the larger sand worms. Travelers should be wary of sinking sands, or sudden shifts in the dunes below their feet. It is the direct sign of a Mermicolion and could mean sudden death afterwards. Ant Lions have only been described by nomads passing by these feeding monsters as enormous red jawed insects that look much like ants, but with far rounder bodies. Much hairier than ants, although still balding by mammalian comparison.
