2004-08-07 [Adaman]: Update: the Fantasma City of Nidavellir is now finished, yay! If you've been keeping up with cities (which no one has except me and the editors) then you know what to do. Basically no one has taken any of my wonderful generosity with allowing merchant social status for beginning members at the start if they made a business in a city, which I'm now not going to allow easily.

In order to keep the balance of powers within the classes stable, they're going to be like a magical version of Slayers, and highly dependent on their summoning creatures. Anyway, they still aren't 100% complete because there will be small details for me to work out until I can say for certain members can figure it out how to be a summoner on their own.

2004-09-07 [Pnelma Tirian]: because Squaresoft was going to go bankrupt if it didn't succeed. That was their literal final fantasy game if it didn't sell. But now we have 12...so I guess it turned out okay.

2004-09-07 [Adaman]: Well, they've sort of set a popular standard for Fantasy games that relies more on fashion than function. That's my major problem with Squaresoft.

2004-09-07 [Adaman]: I've played Final Fantasy, its really rather boring if you think about how it works. Nothing about it is realistic at all, and the only redeeming value is the graphics. Final Fantasy is merchandise that focuses on looks rather than gameplay. I think that about Layman's it up, although I may be able to go one step lower.
2004-09-07 [Duredhel]: Hmmm, i think it's rather naive to dismiss FF with such ease. Even though it IS a comercial product, i've met countless extremely good RPers who got into RPGs (i mean more advanced RPGs like DnD, which by the way ALSO is a commercial product, or Cthulu) through FF.
2004-09-07 [Pnelma Tirian]: aye, FF's system is rather boring. I never liked turnbased, but a lot of others do it like that. And anyway, in most games, the plot within the game is enough to continue playing. Look at FF7. (Which I am playing at the moment..) If you can maintain that that game is still popular because of graphics, I'll laugh.

2004-09-08 [Adaman]: Okay, I'll admit that early squaresoft (pre-FF8) was really good about making storylines intruiging and followable. After that they slipped a little bit each year until I just stopped paying attention to them all together because let's face it, they are visual appeal now more than anything. With that having been said, its time for a more Fantasma related topic since this is the frontpage. You can continue the discussion about squaresoft in the Fantasma Chat the main reason it was created.

2004-09-08 [Adaman]: You should bug your quest master about that, although I think he's become busy so maybe the party will have to change its regular entrees. Anyway, sometimes parties have down times because members simply forget or don't have time to make entrees. If you're having trouble getting in contact with the other members and the party continues to go on as a vegetable, then I'll have to take emergency management I suppose. Although you could have your characters enter in events at a local city while you're waiting for your party to pick up again.

2004-09-18 [Adaman]: I think its time for a member purge, some people here just aren't participating. I blame it mainly on myself for not making a more strict system of joining, apparently the lack of any work to join lures lazy members. Either that or its just me... some members are safe, mainly because they're on vacation or busy at the moment, but those without excuses are certainly on the list to be removed. Just so you know, keeping the banner up on your elftown house after you've been kicked out will be considered stealing art.
2004-09-19 [Adaman]: I've decided to take a week to relax from Fantasma, especially since I've been getting a tad edgy with some things recently. I'll still be having one day for an exception within the week in order to keep parties I'm "quest mastering" moving along, but other than that you'll have to depend on either [Benu] or [Saba Nyx] for help with questions, or just send me a message but don't expect an answer for at least 3-4 days or an entire week. Hopefully I'll come back recharged and ready to finish up some sections I'm lagging behind and maybe show a little sympathy for some of the members.
