Hippy Princess
An Untitled Spell-Poem *New*
Maiden, Mother, Crone
Behold your daughter
Born of the Flame
Cleansed by your Water
Nourished by the Earth
Voice Carried on the Wind
Hear my Plea
Send to me the one
Whose Soul burns for mine
Whose Blood sings with mine
Whose Body aches for mine
Your children wander, seperated
By Time, Place, and Chance
Let the Barriers stand no more
That our Hearts may find our true home
Surya's Footprint
Taken in Big Cottonwood Canyon, just outside of Salt Lake City, UT, in the Spring of 2003
For the Thick Chicks (*a work in progress*)
Yeah, I'm big--plus size--BBW
A "Thick Chick"
I don't just deserve respect
I demand it
Yes I have breasts, So what?
Look at my eyes
Don't start thinking I'm easy
Beacuse of my size
River Watching
Thats my friend Abbi, taken the same day as Surya's, in the same Canyon. She didn't know I had taken the shot untill we got back home. I love the way the light is playing around her here.
A Cry in the Night
Sometimes I wonder how bad life can get
The heartache and memories I try to forget
Then things take a turn for the worse
When all I want is to break this curse
Lovers may come and lovers may go
Neverending tears from my heart flow
Silently at night in my bed I lie
Don't want the world to see me cry
When I can't withstand the pain
And my heart bleeds in the pouring rain
Of tears falling freely from my eyes
I cry out to the dark night skies
Praying for justice or praying for truth
Praying to return to a forgotten youth
I ache for the love that I once lost
Vowing to find him despite the cost
An endless life is the price I pay
To hold him again another day
Nature's Splendor
Again, that same day, same canyon, just a different mountain.
As We Look Back and Sigh
For the Class of 1998
As we look back and sigh
As we tell our friends good-bye
We all seem to realize
Time has flown before our eyes
We look back and tell ourselves
Everything worked out somehow
We showed our spirits through it all
The cold, the rain, the early snowfall
We pushed on through catastrophies
We stood proud through tragedies
Now we look back, remembering
Things that once made our hearts sing
Games, parties, that first kiss
Old friend, do you remember this
Everybody wants to know
Now true feelings start to show
Of cliques we've seen the rise and falls
We always knew who ruled the halls
Time has come to say good-byes
As we wipe tears out of our eyes
As we look back and sigh
Seeking Balance
A display at the International Peace Gardens, Salt Lake City, UT.
Somewhere, Somehow, Someday
You used to laugh at all my jokes
Even if they weren't so funny
You used to love the way I blushed
Each time you called me honey
You used to say you hated
To be so far away
You used to say we'd be together
Somewhere, somehow, someday
I miss the tender words you gave
When others made me weep
I miss your gentle voice each night
Softly singing me to sleep
I miss the quirky little things
That you used to say
I miss the dream of us together
Somewhere, somehow, someday
Simple Pleasures #4: The Nap
A Cry in the Night
Sometimes I wonder how bad life can get
The heartache and memories I try to forget

Don't want the world to see me cry
When I can't withstand the pain
And my heart bleeds in the pouring rain
Of tears falling freely from my eyes
I cry out to the dark night skies
Praying for justice or praying for truth
Praying to return to a forgotten youth

Vowing to find him despite the cost

After the Party
The Question
In my dreams I hear your voice
Wake up crying, can't make a choice
Go on living my forsaken life
Settle down and be a wife
Or end it all and try anew
Spend another life in this search for you?
I drift back to these tortured dreams
And try to remember life is not as it seems
In the darkness I search for truth
Struggling through memories of another youth
Scenes flash of centuries gone by
Am I dreaming again or just living a lie?
