These pictures show the surgery suite, including the anesthetic machine and the table they put the horse on to operate. The horse has to be carried from the induction/recovery room by a winch and lays on it's back in that table, which is heavily padded. Horses way so much that leaving them lying down for an extended length of time will cut off blood circulation to the muscles on the down side and cause them to atrophy very quickly. This is why you seldom see full grown horses laying down. Ponies and cattle do not have this problem.
