Appearance: About 5'5" tall and of sturdy build, she wears her long, dark-blonde hair in a strict bun for her travelling purposes. Her round face and the big bright-blue eyes stay make-up free at all times and she dresses in robust linen-and-leather tunic and pants combos, giving her a rather tomboyish look.
Underneath her travelling clothes she carries with her a set of scars which she takes care never to reveal to anybody.

History: Born to a semi-noble household, Danecay began to show symptoms of magical abilities at an early age. Her parents seized the opportunity to protect their assets by sending her off to an academy to study Shield Magic, even though they were told that Danecay's true strength lay in Attack Magic. The little girl was taught to suppress her natural abilities and managed to master Shield Magic, however, her skills did not develop quite as well, and her parents were very disappointed. Danecay was 17 and about to be shipped off to a monastery, her parents adopting a fully trained natural Shield Mage, when her first outburst of unbridled, up to now repressed, Attack Magic happened, destroing her home and killing her parents and a teacher from her academy in the process. The citizens of her home town came after her with torches and Danecay bolted, living in the forest and various city slums.
She was picked up by an herb merchant, a quiet but hearty elderly woman who did not ask about the past, and Danecay learned the trade. She has been travelling around with a cart full of goods ever since and takes care not to reveal her last name, the connection to her past life, if she can help it.

Special Abilities: Apart from being able to defend herself with a sturdy travelling staff, Shield magic works when working in a group; however, for some reason, she has some trouble shielding herself with her skill.
She can shield herself and others from most physical attacks and takes away much of the force of magical attacks. However, she herself is vulnerable to direct magical assaults, as well as physical attacks she did not see coming.
If put in an extreme situation, Danecay's suppressed attack powers unleash themselves in a fierce outburst, harming friend and foe alike, including herself.

Items / weaponry: Her only piece of weaponry is her travelling staff of sturdy wood - though she could probably do a little damage with her two small household knives if need be.
