Zoey kissed Jack on the cheek and slid out of the booth. Grabbing her sandwich and apple and nodded. "Meet me up in our room, you know where it is." With that she turned and walked away. Stevie Rae ran up to her and grinned. "He's coming. Don't get excited. But just in case lets run up there and set up." They giggled and hurried up to there dorm.
Stevie Rae and Zoey went up to there room and set up a few games and some extra sleeping bags. They chatted about where Zoey and Jack had been for a little bit and then they put out some snacks on a table. Moments later Damien appeared with soda and 3 decks of cards. "Where are the boys?" Stevie Rae and Zoey both snorted. Damien was gay but he never considered himself a boy. Zoey and Stevie Rae couldn't contain there laughter.
A few minutes later,
Jack walked up to the girls' door and knocked. He was carrying a bag of chips in his off hand, and leaned against the door frame. Thousands of thoughts ran through his head at this moment. His day had gone from weird, to good, to great, straight back to slightly weird again. He stepped aside when he noticed someone's aura nearing the door.
Zoey quickly opened the door and grinned. "Hey good lookin. Why don't you come in and join in the fun?" In the middle of the room Stevie Rae and Damien were playing twister. Sadly Damien had fallen on there back and they both laid on the floor in a fit of giggles.
"Hey! Who you calling good looking?"
Jack laughed and leaned in, kissing Zoey's forehead and walked into the room, "I brought a little something. I didn't have much, this is about all I could scrounge up from my room," he said as he set the chips down on a table. He turned to Stevie Rae and Damien, "Looks like you two are having fun."
A melody played on a guitar played through the wall and under the door to the room, a clear sign that
Magi was coming up to the door for the party. The music he was playing was festive and fun. Magi also had a saddle bag looped over his shoulder with more snacks in the form of mini brownies with chocolate bits in them and more drinks. There came a knock low on the door.
This time Damien opened the door and grinned. "Come on in!" Grinning he turned around and jumped back onto Stevie Rae's bed.
Zoey was laying on her bed, playing with Jack's hand and looked up at Magi. "Hey!" In the background of everything Pearl Harbor was playing. "Sorry, Damien picked the movie." She giggled softly as a pillow was thrown at her. "Hey, this is a good movie!"
Magi laughed lightly. "That's fine...it is a good movie...histor
ical..." He sat his guitar against a wall, and started to play out the brownies and drinks from his bag.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one here who enjoys a good historical movie," Jack said with a laugh. He sat down on Zoey's bed next to her, gripping her hand tightly and looking over to her with a smile.
Grinning, Zoey cuddled up to Jack and laid her head on his chest. Damien turned the lights down and laid on his stomach next to Stevie Rae on the floor. Stevie Rae giggled. "Now no necking up there you two!" Zoey blushed and looked up into Jack's eyes. She'd wanted to kiss him a few time, but she also wanted to take it slow with him, because she knew he could be easy to fall in love with and he could easily hurt her.
Magi sat down on the floor with Damien and Stevie Rae, leaning his back against a leg of one of the beds. He was happy for his friend, he never did like Jack with Jewel.
Jack looked down into Zoey's eyes and smiled. He gently ran a hand through her hair, resting back on his other arm and watching the movie. After a moment, he looked to Magi, nodding to his friend in an approving way. He felt a little bad for a second, thinking back, but he definitely knew that Zoey would be better for him than Jewel ever could have been.
Closing her eyes, Zoey smiled softly. Reaching across Jack's body she laced her fingers with his. A few moments passed by in this position. Opening her eyes she looked up into his face and smiled. "If I tell you something, you have to promise to not run away." When he didn't say anything she continued. "I like you, a lot. I know it's probably already obvious, but I wanted you to hear it."
Jack smiled and blushed, "Yeah, that's a bit obvious by now. But I got to give it to you, you're pretty brave saying that in front of this crowd," He said with a bit of a laugh, nodding towards the rest of the people in the room.
Zoey giggled softly and shrugged her shoulders. "They'll get over it. Just because we're something to be jealous over doesn't mean anything. I mean, not that we're anything, just, you and me. Ugh never mind." Her cheeks were a bright red once she finished what she was saying. I want there to be an us though.
Magi sat there watching the movie, knowing that this was how friends should be like, just hanging out and supporting those that do get together. I have been the background no matter how in the foreground I became... I'm proud of Jack and Zoey...
Jack laughed and shook his head, "There's nothing to worry about...I mean, I really wouldn't mind it if there was a 'We're'" He smiled at Zoey, tilting his head slightly to the side to indicate a question. Man, two days may be quick, but things do seem right with her. There's just something special about her.
Zoey inhaled sharply and met his eyes. "Really? I mean...if your serious than yes! Absolutely." Her smile was bright and huge. "Woohoo! Woohoo!!!" Stevie Rae had heard every word they had spoken and was now dancing around the room cheerfully. Zoey snorted and buried her face in Jack's chest.
Nodding, Jack couldn't help but laugh at Stevie Rae, "Sure I'm serious, now if you could just get your roomate here to calm down. She's acting like she just found the golden ticket to visit Wonkaland." He laughed at his own joke, shaking his head. He leaned down, kissing Zoey on the back of her head.
Magi laughed lightly at Stevie Rae, his eyes not leaving the dancing girl. "Jack, now that you are Zoey are together, don't you think we should set Stevie Rae up?" he asked with a small smile.
Jack nodded, "It sounds like a plan to me. Now who to set her up with?" He looked over to Stevie Rae with an almost devilish smile on his face, "Or maybe this is going to be easier than I thought." His line of sight shifted back to Magi before looking back to Zoey and running his hand through her hair again.
Magi shook his head as if breaking from his thoughts. "Wha...what do you mean, Jack?" he asked softly.
With a cheesy grin on his face, Jack looked to Magi, "Oh, nothing, Magi. It's nothing. I'm just thinking," he sat there and kept running a hand through Zoey's hair.
Zoey rolled her eyes. "Alright everyone, bedtime." Looking into the Jack's eyes she blushed. "Will you stay here?" She whispered softly, for only him to hear. She placed a hand on his chest and rubbed it gently. "I mean, tomorrow's Saturday so no ones going into the dorms. We won't get into trouble, and I wont try anything." Her voice was soft and calm as she spoke to him.
Jack blushed lightly and gave Zoey a very confused look, "Yeah...I was kinda planning on staying here. I mean, we are having a sleepover, right?" He leaned in and kissed Zoey on the forehead, smiling.
Magi stood up. "You two behave yourselves..." he said smoothly. He went over gather up one of the sleeping bags, laying it out on the floor. Magi laid down on it, though watching Stevie Rae from the corner of his eye. "Sleep well....everyone..."
Zoey rolled her eyes and cuddled up close to Jack. Closing her eyes she smiled softly. Stevie Rae just up out of bed and went and turned of the lights. "Night everyone." Zoey smiled and kissed Jack's chin before she closed her eyes and got comfortable.
All of a sudden, Jack shuddered, "Hey, Zoey," He whispered into her ear, trying to keep quiet, "I can't feel Marcus anymore...His life force...it's not there anymore."
"What do you mean, "it's not there anymore"? As in he died, or something?" Zoey raised up on her elbow to look down into Jack's face. She had felt his body tremble seconds before he spoke but she had just thought he had gotten a cold chill.
Magi quickly fell to sleep. However his dreams were pleasantly filled with a new song and tune.
"Yeah, I can't feel his life force at all anymore. It's just...gone," Jack said in a hushed and worried tone, "It's strange though. It doesn't feel quite like he's dead yet. This is just really hard to comprehend, none-the-less explain."
Zoey sighed softly and closed her eyes. "Let's talk about it in the morning." Scratching her head she ran a hand through her hair and laid down on the pillow. Inhaling slowly she let out a soft breath before slowly drifting off to sleep.
Sunday 5:47 p.m.
Polgara sat on a couch in the common room, her nose buried in a book. She pushed her black-tipped bangs out of her eyes as her hazel eyes shifted from one side of the page to the other beneath her lined eyes.
Zoey woke up early in the morning and glanced around. Everyone was still sleeping. Yawning softly she climbed out of bed and headed towards her dresser. Grabbing a set of clothes she moved towards the bathroom, which was right next to her bed, and glanced down at Jack. Smiling softly she went into the bathroom and started up the shower.
Jack stretched out on the floor, letting out a yawn which bared his long canines, unusual for this sect of vampyres, Jack just has naturally longer teeth. He stood up, stretching out his body, "Morning everyone."
Zoey came out of the bathroom just as Jack woke up. Smiling she leaned against the door frame and watched him. Her long dark hair cascaded around her shoulders. She had blown her hair dry she it was thick and rich with color at the moment. Clearing her throat she slid over to stand in front of Jack and laid her head on his shoulder. "Morning."
Jack smiled, wrapping an arm around behind Zoey's back, leaning his head against hers, "and an especially good morning to you, Zoey."
"There's another Ritual tonight. I here, Jewel, is taking us off campus tonight. Is that normal?" Zoey's voice was soft as she grabbed Jack's hand and led him out of the room. This way they could talk without waking the others.
Jack softly held Zoey's hand and followed her from the room, "Right now, the less I could talk about Jewel, the better. I'm almost worried about how she'll react if she finds out we're together tonight. Whether or not it's normal for this."
"Whether or not it's normal for this? What do you mean?" Zoey's voice was calm and light as they walked towards the common room. Glancing around she noticed that Polgara was the only other person in there. "Morning Polgara." She gave the girl a friendly smile. They had talked in the classes they shared together but have never really spent any one on one time together. That would need to be changed.
Magi came into the common room, and then headed over to a large chair that gave a view of the whole room. "Morning ladies, gentleman...."
Jack shrugged and kept walking, "I meant to say whether or not it's normal for this or not... You know, kinda like I'm not sure if this is normal. I'm not really sure, I guess."
"Hmmm, well I'm sure the Vamps know she's going off grounds so." Muffling a yawn, Zoey went and grabbed a mountain dew from the fridge and popped it open. "We have about an hour before the ritual, think anyone's up for some fun in the gym?"
Jack walked up to the fridge and reached in, grabbing a Mountain Dew for himself and popping it open, "Going to the gym sounds like a great idea. I'm in."
Xirena sat cross-legged in an alcove, a notebook in hand. Her pen was moving quickly, taking notes on what she had learned while in class. Because she had pretty much avoided everyone (her unnatural shyness caused that), she didn't much know where everyone was.
Zoey took Jack's hand and led the way back into the common area. "Pol, Xirena, Magi, want to go to the gym and have some fun?" Her voice was soft as she looked around. "Hmmm, where's Xander? He can come too."
"What sort of fun?" Xirena asked from her seat. She stood slowly, closing her notebook and hooked her pen into the spirals. Xirena gave Zoey a weak smile as she walked away from her corner.
Zoey grinned softly. She was happy to have the friends she did. She may not know some of them as well as she liked. But she was getting there. "Well, they have everything, wall climbing, fencing, basketball, jump rope." She giggled softly and shrugged her shoulders. "Honestly, I've always wanted to do wall climbing."
Pol shrugged, "Sure, why not?" she paused and looked around, "I don't know where Xander is..." she looked almost disappointed for a moment to realize that she hadn't seen him in a while
As if summoned, Xander walked through the door to the common room seconds later. As usual, getting out of bed, at any time of the day, really wasn't his strong point and he was too busy yawning and fumbling with his cellphone to even notice anybody at all at first.
"Xander!" Smiling, Zoey threw a small pillow at Xander. It hit him squarely in the chest and fell to the floor in front of him. "Come to the gym with us? We're going to go hang out!"
Not being very prepared for the pillow, Xander almost dropped the phone in surprise and looked up to where the voice came from. "Oh...hi. Uh... that sounds fine" he jokingly put up a hurt look. "Unless you're gonna throw more stuff at me"
Polgara laughed softly, "Good morning, by the way." she said giving him a friendly smile.
Jack smiled, "But we were going to play dodge ball!" He said jokingly. He walked over to Zoey and wrapped his free hand around her hip, "So, rock climbing, you say? I might go get some fencing work in then. Not a big fan of rock climbing."
Zoey giggled at the dodge ball comment. "Well let's head over. Stevie Rae will text me when she's up." Nudging Jack with her hip she frowned. "Is my hero afraid of heights?" Her voice was teasing as she looked up into his eyes.
Jack laughed, "No, not afraid of heights. Just not a fan of rock climbing. There's something about it that I just don't like," he said as he wrapped his arm around Zoey's shoulders.
"I like rock climbing," Xirena said in a quite voice. She rubbed her arm and looked around for a moment.
Magi walked in, guitar over the shoulder. "Did someone say, rock climbing?" he asked, curiously.
Naylinn walked into the room on the far end, and looked towards the group. They all seemed so close even with the newer ones to the group. She held up her drawing journal and started to sketch the scene.
"Yeah, we're all going to the gym. And so are you, Magi." Zoey glanced over her shoulder and noticed Naylinn standing there sketching. "Naylinn, come on! We're all going to the gym!"
Naylinn jumped looking over. "Wha...? Me....I...you're inviting me?"
