Home Settlement: Little Courton, a very small village close to Basingshire.

Appearance: Haelene is a not-too-short, not-too-tall sort of person, standing at around 5'5". She has a lithe frame, which looks and is suited to dancing. The most striking thing about her features is the small birthmark that sits below her left eye - it takes a paler colour than her honey-milk complexion and comes from the corner of her eye, going down in a slight curve, and stopping a small way down her cheek. She has pale lips that sit below a button nose and dark green eyes that hide beneath locks of almost black hair, which remains perpetually messy.
Clothing/equipment: She's a fan of pale greys and deep purples, so those are the colours she wears, though others find a way of sneaking their way in. She doesn't seem to care about her clothing so often looks mismatched but always wears the same long frayed, button-up grey coat (notably, the sleeves are too long and it looks as if it were designed for a male with a considerably large build). She almost always has something on a string around her neck, normally some random object that she doesn't want to lose or forget.

History: As a child, she was a climber, she could often be found sat in one of the trees dotted around Little Courton instead of playing with the other children, though this was not due to not wanting to be social, but more because she couldn't really remember their names. Though she was seen with them on occasion and made a few friends.
Her parents own a small shop in the centre of the village, selling allsorts of unique knickknacks, both homemade and imported. The shop thrived until her early teens but unfortunately custom lulled in when Hael was in her early teens. In light of this, she took to dancing in the streets and Taverns of nearby villages to try and earn more money for her family - the shop was her haven and she didn't want to see it closed. This, and the exploits of her family, kept the shop afloat for a few more years. However, there was not much money to be made in the villages so the shop was soon back in crisis, it was at this point that Hael decided to travel. After a tearful goodbye and the packing of bags Haelene was off, trudging down the many roads to Elleek.
Personality: There is one word that can summarise Hael and that is 'quirky'. Haelene has a habit of forgetting things that do not interest her, sometimes this includes directions. She tends to get lost or lose things if she doesn't find a way to make it interesting, which causes her a fair few problems. However, if she finds something interesting enough to remember she will remember everything about it - having photographic memory tends to help. She's a kind and gentle being but she has the heart of an adventurer.
