History of World War II

The Second World War touched nearly every corner of the earth and changed the face of the world forever. From the freezing mountains of Norway, to the steamy jungles of the Pacific islands, this bloody conflict took the axis and the allies to the limit of their military capabilities as each side struggled for dominance over wide swaths of territory. Although fought in the air, sea, and land, this war was just as much fought in the laboratory: from the Second World War came huge leaps in scientific and technological know-how that helped usher in the modern world that we know today. As one of the most monumental events in recent human history, World War II provides us with a fascinating story that runs from its foundations in World War I to the sweeping conflicts the spread throughout the globe to its impact on the very course of history.

2007-06-21 [Bulma]: Soooo I read this stuff and then I take a test on it or something?

2007-06-21 [Bulma]: You don't have The submachine-gun For Secert weapons

2007-06-21 [Dumnorix]: The submachine-gun wasn't a secret weapon in WWII, [Bulma]. It had already been used in the Spanish Civil War.

2007-06-21 [Imperator]: The submachine gun wasn't a secret weapon though, it might have been in World War I but not II. :-)

As for the test thing, I could make one up but usually you're just supposed to read it at your liesure. Besides, I don't have this all completed yet so it would be a rather limited test. Nonetheless, I could make one if you like.

2007-06-22 [Bulma]: That would be veryy interesting Mr teacher :P

2007-06-22 [Imperator]: Alright, I'll make one over the next few weeks because I'm going to be really busy. That will also give you time to just read whatever you like. :-)

2008-02-13 [lostangel]: Um...how can I become a student here?

2008-02-13 [Imperator]: Just ask. :-) I'm so glad someone found my classroom here. Feel free to read whatever you want and leave comments if you need anything.

2008-07-24 [Mortified Penguin]: Ah... World War II. The world's most interesting war... so far.

2008-07-24 [Imperator]: Yes indeed. It is very interesting. The War of Armageddon should be cool though... United States vs European Union vs Russia vs China... Oooooooooo...

2008-07-25 [Mortified Penguin]: I can't wait! ...I'm so going to record it all and put it on Youtube...

2008-07-25 [Flisky]: Umm...I think the Pacific Theatre needs a lot of work. I know it's under construction and all, but I do have some suggestions if you are interested. Starting with Tarawa, a small, often ignored island that eventually had a big impact on battles such as Iwo Jima.

2008-07-25 [Imperator]: Sure! I'd love to hear your suggestions. What do you have?

2008-12-02 [American Revolutionary]: hey how come im no longer on here?

2008-12-02 [Imperator]: What do you mean? As a student? I don't think you ever were...

2008-12-02 [American Revolutionary]: i was so!

2008-12-04 [Imperator]: And now you are again. :-)

2009-04-11 [American Revolutionary]: YAYZ!!!

2009-04-11 [American Revolutionary]: to bring up an intresting fact...did you know that the germans created the first night vision and assault rifle?

2009-04-11 [Imperator]: "Yayz" lol, I like to hear that! :D

No, but I knew they developed a gun that could fire around street corners. :P

2009-04-13 [American Revolutionary]: yes..that too..but yes the sturm-44 was the first assault rifle, and the vampier nightscope
