I CHING: An ancient Chinese system of oracular divination that reveals patterns of subtle forces. The questioner is required to interpret the information provided through deep introspection and intuitive thought. The I Ching dates back to about 2852 B.C. Also known as the Book of Changes.

ICHTHYOMANCY:

Divination interpreting the appearance and behavior of fish. A form of Augury (divination by interpreting the appearance or behavior of animals);
Divination interpreting the entrails of fish. A form of Haruspicy (divination by interpreting animal entrails).
IDOLOMANCY: Divination by interpreting idols, images or figures.

IFING (Old Norse, ifing: "doubt"): One of the rivers that separates Asgard from Midgard in Norse Tradition. The other river is Tund (time). 

IMAGE MAGICK: Using a representation of a person, animal or thing for magickal work. Also called Sympathetic Magick.

IMBOLC, IMBOLG (Gaelic, "in the belly"): The February 1st Greater Sabbat marking the midpoint of the Dark Half of the year and a time of purification and sharing. This sabbat celebrates the Return of the Goddess from the Underworld, bearing in Her arms the Infant Sun, and the beginning of Spring as the slumbering seeds begin to stir within the womb of the Earth. Also known as Brigidmas, Brigit's Day, Candlemas, Feast of Pan, Feast of Torches, Feast of the Waxing Light, Festival of the Lactating Ewes, Gouel Varia ar Gouloù, Gwyl Ffraed, Gwyl Mair Dechrau'r Fwanwyn, Laa'l Breeshey, Lá Fheile Bride, Lupercalia, Oimealg, Oímealg, Oimelc, Óimelc, Oímelg.  

IMP: In Ceremonial Magick and alchemy, a small demon, usually kept inside a bottle or ring and used for healing, divination and charms. Imps are both helpful and malicious and are evoked in Ceremonial Magick. During the Witch Hunts in the Middle Ages, the terms imp and familiar were used interchangeably.

INCANTATION: Words ritually spoken or chanted in a magickal spell or ritual.

INCARNATE (Latin, incarnate: "to enter into flesh): To manifest physically; to have a body.

INCENSE: Any substance, such as gums, resins, or herbs, that produce a pleasant odor when burned. Incense is highly valued for ceremonies, purification, and offerings in most religions.

INCUBUS: A male wraith form or demon. Incubi (plural) plague women with visits for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Succubus is the female form of this demon. Legend held that the succubus would manifest to a male, perhaps in his dreams, and thus acquire his semen. It would then take the form of an incubus and manifest itself to a woman.

INDIVIDUALITY: In Theosophy the Immortal Self, the Higher Self, that develops over the course of all of one's incarnations. Distinct from Personality which is the Self developed in a single incarnation.

INITIATE: A person who has undergone the rite of entry into a coven, circle, or other organization.

INITIATION ("a beginning, entrance into"): Rite or ceremony in which a person is admitted entry into a fraternity or organization such as a Grove or Coven. The term initiation can also be used to denote the elevation of a member in a hierarchical organization.

INNER PLANES: Levels of being or consciousness other than the ordinary, physical or mundane consciousness.

INVOCATION: The ritual to summon or invite a non-material force or entity of a higher order of being than oneself (usually an an aspect of the Goddess or the God). Examples include the ritual of Drawing Down the Moon and the Voudoun practice of the deity speaking through a priest or priestesses body. Also known as Aspecting, Calling Down, Drawing Down.

IOSIS: The third and final stage in alchemy that occurs during Coagulation. Also known as the Purple Phase.

IRON: One of the seven metals of alchemy, associated with the operation of Separation.

ISLAM, ISLAMISM: The monotheistic religious doctrine as revealed by the Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah. There are many sects of Islam and believers are called Muslims.
