Alexi Ice]
Character name - Icycle 'Ice' Snow
Character setting - Japan during the Ninja Era – Fantasy - Sakani
Age - 21
Race: - Half human/ Half dragon demon
Appearance - Ice is short standing at only about five eight and weights a little more than one hundred and sixty pounds. His skin is cream white and his hair is a pale silver color. On the left side of his face he bears a yellow slitted dragon eye with patches of deep green scales trailing from his upper lip up past his hair line about the width of his left eye (Seventeen in total, the size of nickels). His other eye is the same light silver color as his hair. His stomach is covered in pink scars from where the demon inside of him has attempted to crawl its way out. In most instances he walks around in a black and silver regulation battle uniform and a green mask with a dragon snout and eyes.
History - Ice was born in a frozen wasteland where his father ruled as king. His mother disappeared less than a year after he was born and because of this his father began abusing him constantly. By the time he was seven he was banished to a mental hospital for attempting to murder the king. Just five short years later his own father banished him from the village and labeled him a disgrace. He found his way to a nearby village hidden in dense jungles and ended up in a fight for his life against several other ninja. He was only fifteen at the time. During the battle he ended up rolling over a small lizard demon who was smashed into his eye, unfortunately they fused together against both of their wills and he ended up murdering the ninja’s that were attacking him. It later turns out that Saphira is a dragon demon who wanders about in lizard form so as to not draw attention to herself. Neither Ice nor the demon inside of him named Saphira want anything to do with each other and often battle it out for possession of his body. Eventually Ice threatens to kill himself if Saphira does not stop torturing him and the two make a contract to work together until he dies.
Personality - Ice has issues. He is sarcastic, clever, rude, and snide and has a major height complex. His sense of justice is warped and he believes that you must kill in order to save. He is severely depressed and has tried to kill himself on a number of occasions which have obviously failed. He is critical and over thinks things to an impossible point. His cognitive thinking is off the charts but he hides it behind his shy nature. When alone his thoughts are consumed by anger and revenge but he attempts to act as normal as he possibly can. He is very duty bound and believes strongly in ‘The Cause’ (Whatever he thinks the cause is.)
Occupation - Special op. Ninja for the village leader
Abilities - Ice has natural fighting skill from his days in Sakani and has the innate ability to talk and think himself out of most life threatening situation. Saphira allots him the ability to become a ‘half-dragon’ and harness her teeth, her claws and her wings in order to defeat his enemies. He is also able to suck out the energy of those closest to him earning him the label of ‘Vampire’; (A creature that drains another of spiritual energy in order to make it stronger.) He is also skilled in an attack called ‘Liquefy’ where he can fade into objects by becoming nothing more than fine mist. This ability also allows him to fuse with water and ice based objects and life forms.
Let us begin!
Mr. L, a tall, skeletal man with thin black hair stood waiting in front of a high arched window. The evening's dull light was broken into patches by the trees outside, casting odd moving dots over Mr. L as he sighed and checked his pocket watch. He glanced at the open door of his office, hoping Icycle would make his appearance.
Icycle strolled up from one of the nearby allyways, his jeans torn and his shirt smeared in dirt, a dribble of blood on his lip. "I'm going to go ahead and guess that you are the man I'm supposed to meet?" He snuffed, his voice deep. With a quick glance he gave the stranger a once over. He didn't look like too much of a threat.
"Indeed. Come in and sit. You're late as it is, so try to be quick about it," Mr. L drawled, clearly annoyed. He strolled over to his desk and picked up a manila folder with ICYCLE written across it's face.
Ice sighed. He followed the man with a weary gait. "You can just call me Ice, ok? In fact. Don't call me Icycle. I fucking hate that. What's your name? Or rather what should I call you?" He asked, taking in the room around him. His golden eye flashed as he wiped the blood off his face. "I do apologize for my lateness."
Mr. L was a little taken back. "My, we're a little hyper, aren't we? You might want to get some medication for that..." Mr. L sat on the corner of his desk and looked at Ice. "I do believe I asked you to sit." He nodded at a high backed chair sitting in front of his desk.
"I'm good, thanks. Does it bother you that I'm dominating you?" He glared, clearly irritated by his before comment. "Also, it's rude not to answer questions asked by your guests. Mind you, I don't have to be here today." He placed his hands on the desk and leaned forward "I'm doing you a
favor " His lips pulled back, revealing a double row of fangs to back up his threat.
Mr. L cocked his head to the side, wearing an expression like his brain had fallen out. Finally he shook his head and shrugged. "Stand. Fine by me. As for questions, you wont be asking them. I will. So please refrain from saying anything that is not an answer to my inquiries, thank you very much." Mr. L then rolled his eyes, clearly not menaced by the boy in the slightest. "So, you're a half human, half dragon demon... Interesting. So who was the dragon demon, your mum or your dad?"
"Whatever you say. It's not hereditary, my mother and father are both human. The dragon, Saphira is her name, and I are under a very tight contract. We were unfortunatly fused during a battle some time ago in which she was absorbed into my body. As you can see..." He pointed to the scales around his moon-yellow eye "We are becoming one. I can borrow her powers to fight and she can have my body when my soul deteriorates." Ice stood at the back of the room, near the door, in case he needed a quick escape.
"Interesting," Mr. L said and looked down at his papers. He closed the folder and placed it on his lap. "So your mother randomly disappeared... did you ever figure out why that happened?"
Ice grimiced. "That's not something I like talking about. The bitch up and left me when I was little...knowi
ng she's still alive...makes me sick. I had to live in that shithole while she..." He slammed his pale fist into the desk. "She left me to suffer. I don't know how to contact her, but I know she's alive. My... Father" He growled the word "is the one who told me before I....extracted my revenge upon him." His face was drained of what little color it had possesed, the stranger had clearly hit a sore subject.
"Speaking of your father, he began to abuse you after your mother left... What is the rationale of that? Was he generally angry and venting on you, or did he blame you for some reason?"
"To the whores credit, she protected me when she was around. Once she dissapered he turned on me. Granted..." Ice finally sat down, edgy, his fingers twitching against the wooden desk. He sat on the edge of the leather chair, his leg spazzuming. "I was never the best child. I hate...hate...HATE that man. I always have. He beat my mother and anyone else he could get his filthy hands on." He sneered then, his eyes glazed over in memory.
"Why?" asked Mr. L, sounding peeved. "Why the Hell was he randomly beating people. Did he have a drinking problem? Mental illness? Rough childhood? Anything, really."
"Anger issues." Ice said, his voice dead and his multi-colored eyes distant. "He'd freak over the littlest things. Mom often told me it was because of the way he was treated when he was a kid, his dad tried to shape him into the ruler of Sakani, the Ice village, known for it's armies, weaponry and soljers. We are top in the military rankings. We are all warriors. Well....I say we but..I've long since left the village. We all had the same childhood, bloody and broken in order to shape us into some breed of super soljer." He had lost most of the edge to his voice, more reserved then he had been upon entering the office.
"Rough childhood it is then." Mr. L was clearly unmoved and uninterested in Ice's emotional state. "So apparently you attempted to kill your father and they sent you to a... mental asylum? Then exiled you. Why didn't they just exile you, or furthermore, why a mental asylum? Why not a jail? Why did you spend five years in a mental hospital and then get kicked out of the country?"
Ice's face peeled into a smile, wicked, a bit of his boyhood flushing his features. "I learned how to escape. I was in a padded room, the security was much higher than the jails, most of those people are fried for war crimes anyway. It could not have held me. By that point, even though I was young, I had a lot of potential. Though I'll admit I was stupid. Didn't think things through. When I was locked up in that stark white room I became friends with myself. I learned a lot, focused on the element I was born from. That's when I learned my signature teqnique, 'Liquify', and escaped from that god forsaken place." His fingernails dug holes into the desk, his leg still shaking repeatedly. "My father had only one option left. He implanted an experimental 'fence' into my neck, I belive in your time it's like a shock collar for dogs, you can thank my father for that, by the way. I'm not allowed to wander into a certian radius without reciving 100,000 volts. I tried it once. Had Saphira not helped me, I would have died."
"Ok ok STOP," said Mr. L, making a shooing motion towards Ice. "Stop touching my desk. I am serious. Just lean back and try to stop your... leg seizures or whatever the Hell is wrong with you." Frustrated, Mr. L pushed his hair back and glared at the ceiling as though he was cursing God for sending him this child. After a long inhale he said, "Anyway... interesting, that whole bit. Ahem..." Mr. L looked back into his folder. "Oh, I had I question..." he said aggressively, setting the folder aside. "And I hope this doesn't offend you. Your name... Icycle Snow. Is it typical, where your from, to name people random nature words? For instance, did you have any neighbors named Mud Puddle, or Stick Tree? Or was it a Snow White kind of thing, you know, where your mother was trying to make you seem unique?"
Ice snorted "Sorry. I'm edgy." He said, leaning back and placing a tight fist on his leg. "It's a villiage royalty thing. The ledgends say our village was created when Ice and Fire had this epic battle, when the lake was flooded with mercury, and Ice formed a bond with the toxic lake and won the battle. If you ask me, it's all a load of shit. The 'Snow' is the royal family. There are two branches, one of fire, and one of Ice. Since I WAS next in line for the throne, I got the most coveted name. My fathers name is Avalance, and my brothers is Drift. Thought I doubt you need examples of Snow based names." He paused, annoyance and confusion crossing his features "I don't belive there is a 'Snow White' in the villiage."
"Never mind," said Mr. L, looking haggard. He shifted, placing his ankle on his knee and folded his hands upon his lap. "So, excuse my ignorance, but I don't quite get how the... demon got into you. You fell on it... and it got stuck in your eye?"
Ice frowned. "Fell is a loose term. More like I was violently assulted by that stupid little lizzard while I was in a battle. I was hit so hard I went sprawling onto the ground. She was lodged into my eye. Note why I don't have a human eye anymore. She crawled into my brain cavity to escape the battle and my body ended up absorbing her." His frown stayed permanantly placed on his face "Or so she says. I think she is just using me because she wants her own human form."
"My, that sounds painful," Mr. L commented then cleared his throat, not giving Ice a chance to respond. "Apparently, according to the information I have about you, you are depressed. You don't seem at all depressed to me. See, their are certain symptoms that accompany depression and you don't seem to have any of them, so would you mind explaining that aspect of your personality?"
Ice sighed, feeling as if he were trapped again. He stood up and paced the room a couple of times before responding. "Symptoms of depression: sleeplessness, thoughts of suicide, apathy, reslessness, anxiety, loss of apetite, irritable and short tempered." He trailed off "I hate to disagree, but depression is more of an inside trait. If I hid it well enough, you would have no way of knowing." He scrunched his face up "Where did you get your information on me, anyway?"
"Aren't we a little walking talking medical dictionary," Mr. L laughed. "As for the origin of your information, that is confidential, also unimportant. Now, the next question I was going to save for later but I am sure it will bring up questions of its own. According to my sources, you believe in 'The Cause'." Mr. L put air quotes around the last words. "However, I have no idea what that means. Care explaining?"
Ice smiled again, wicked like the last time. "I wish to eradicate people who do wrong from this world. I get a little...into it. I once attacked a man for jaywalking. I'm tired of people like my father being allowed to exist in this world. They should be taken care of. Swiftly and silently if at all possible."
"Well wouldn't you be breaking the law for attacking a jaywalker? That's extremely hypocritical of you."
He shook his head, clearly confused. "I'm a ninja. We work as police in our village to stop things like that. When were not out of the village we patrol it, looking for people who are commiting crimes and doing wrong." He continued his pacing. "It might be hypocritical of me, considering what a hastle I was as a child." He sighed "Can you blame me for wanting them dead, though? all my life I've suffered, from my mother who abandoned me, my father, even my useless theripist who raped his own daughter. These people make me SICK . They deserve death. Something I am happy to give them." He sneered, trying to keep his boiling anger in check.
"Excessive force is a crime and your job is not excuse. As for being a self righteous lunatic who is obsessed with killing people, I'd wish you luck in the future but hey, I'm sorta against the death penalty. And with that, I'm afraid our time is up, my next appointment will be around any second now and I would really like for you to leave. Good bye, Ice," said Mr. L curtly, getting up and walking to the back of his desk.
Ice let his words drip with venom "Yeah, nice to meet you. It's been a pleasure, I assure you. Have a good evening Mr. L. " Without another word he faded into non-existance, the fine mist particals floating under the door and dissapering into the wind.
