2007-01-12 [Willow Rose]: [Delladreing], how did you pick your pagan name?
I'm on this one thing where we needed to have one, and the owner said to pick something that meant something to me. Rose is my favorite flower, and "willow" brings back some great memories to me, so the name "Willow Rose" means something special to me, but I want a simpler one but I just can't find one that I feel fits me...
2007-01-12 [Delladreing]: Honestly? I created Dela my alter ego. Deladreing is a form of Elvish for my real name Fiona Savage. I created it for this site. It was when I was on this site however that I started writing pagan pieces, ergo the name Dela became my pagan one.
I'm afraid that's all there is to it for me.
Just use a name that feels right to you like you say. Doesn't need to be fancy. "Dela" sounds like a fishermans wife to me. Or a French sentence that never got finished.
2007-01-12 [Willow Rose]: Well like I said, the Willow Rose names means something to me, but it just seems too... frilly.
I thought maybe I'd find something I liked from one of those name generators, because I know people who have gotten really pretty simple names from them, like the fairy ones or Elvish ones... But let's just say my name doesn't make very nice ones. -.-
2007-01-12 [Delladreing]: So just make one up :p
2007-01-12 [Fireblade K'Chona]: Pick a name you always *wish* you'd had and plug it in. For the first eleven years of my life I wanted to be named Anna.
2007-01-13 [Willow Rose]: I've always wanted the name "Alexandrya", "Aurora", or "Alyndria".
2007-01-13 [Fireblade K'Chona]: I actually quite like my name, though, so that's all right them. :P It's not a very cool name, but it works for me, and my last name is pretty unique. Despite the fact that I occasionally get mocked for it.
2007-01-13 [Azuri]: Ive always liked my name, Felicia isn't something you hear everyday and that made me happy. Although it always gets mispronounced and misspelled.
2007-01-13 [Fireblade K'Chona]: My name gets misspelled *all* the time. I swear there are like 20 ways to spell it. -sigh-
2007-01-13 [Azuri]: I most liked the way my husbands dad spelt it the first time he had to. He spelt it Phylissha. Which was a completely new one on me XD
2007-01-14 [Rondel]: A lot of it comes down to this: if someone says the name, are you going to recognize it as you, and feel comfortable responding? That's what a name is supposed to be, after all -- a designation of self. You can pick the fanciest or simplest name you can think of, and if it doesn't feel like *you*, it's the wrong one. If it *does* feel like you, if you wouldn't feel silly having your best friend, or your parents, or your 3rd grade teacher, find out that you're using that name, and call you by it -- then it's the right name, regardless of its form, construction, language, floridity, or anything else.
2007-03-19 [Jitter]: I have noticed the fake name thing in almost everything -.- Just to show cool you rename yourself to Shadowwolf or something...Ga
2007-03-19 [Delladreing]: ...I love you all the more for being able to quote that XD *hugs*
2007-03-19 [Jitter]: x) /hugs back I read only 6 books because I can't find the rest in greece but I love his writing style :) And I adore the games xD
2007-03-19 [Delladreing]: The Turtle Moves is my other wiki baby :P
2007-03-19 [Jitter]: ^^
2007-03-19 [Azuri]: Bah you make me want to read them and I have no access to them :(
2007-06-10 [Delladreing]: I just always thought she was.
2007-06-10 [Azuri]: *nod nod* after I was "shown the light" if you will I realized how stupid she was.
2007-07-28 [Rondel]: *shrugs* I'm not sure how stupid a person is if they've figured out a way to cash in on a mass marketing trend, and the hordes of sheep-like followers thereof... ...but it doesn't mean I feel a need to hail them as the great enlightener. ;)
