Jediism

Welcome to Jediism!

To begin with, Jediism is not the same as that which is portrayed within the Star Wars Saga by George Lucas. George Lucas' Jedi are fictional characters that exist within a literary and cinematic universe. The Jedi discussed here refer to factual people within this world that live or lived their lives according to the code Jedi, of which we recognize and work together as a community to both cultivate and celebrate. Jedi is a real living, breathing way of life. Jedi bases less of its focus on myth and fiction, and more upon those real life examples of Jedi found in the hearts of heroes and within the actions of such.

2004-07-19 [.ash.]: Is there anymore information?

2004-07-19 [Apollo of Crowingblade]: of course there is, I just need to get around to uploading it

2004-08-24 [askdjnso]: I adore the fact that the UK made this a recognized religion.

2004-08-25 [Apollo of Crowingblade]: Which is the first reason i need to move there, second being legalized drugs.

2004-08-27 [Kyler]: Who "invented" this religion?

2004-10-14 [Apollo of Crowingblade]: Technically it was invented by George Lucas

2004-10-15 [rshgngnflgn of vasilica]: Because he was the first to state it.

2004-10-15 [Apollo of Crowingblade]: Exactly young panda-san

2005-04-05 [Bookwyrm]: I see this less as a religion and more of a set of moral laws and disiplines that, if followed, will create an ultimately good and possibly happy life. It would be great if everyone read these and at least took a few things to heart. Many of these ideals and disciplines could really lead to a peaceful era, but...let's not get ahead of ourselves ^-^'

2005-05-14 [Hedgehog]: Just a couple of things: Firstly, I'm not sure what you mean by 'legalised drugs', but apart from the medicinal ones, (and some not really worthy of note) only nicotine and alcohol are legal. Second: As far as I am aware, the UK recognised 'Jedi Knight' as being a religion (I'm not sure of the actual term used) because someone on the internet came up with the bright idea of getting lots of people to put this down on the last Census, and since enough people did it, the UK *had* to recognise it as an official religion. To be perfectly frank, I''m skeptical about most of those people actually being followers of the religion you describe here, but more likely Star Wars fans with a sense of humour

2005-05-14 [Hedgehog]: That said, I haven't really researched the issue, so there's a fairly good chance I'm horribly wrong.

2005-06-22 [Radagast]: Humm, aren't drug sentances softer here than in america?

2005-06-23 [Apollo of Crowingblade]: Radagast: I'm not sure about your laws over in the U.K., but it seems that they are quite a bit softer. Hedgehog: Legalized drugs would be the ones that are "legal" to obtain. As far as the U.K. Recognizing Jedi Knight as a religion for the most part it was just a joke, but the Jedi Knight that I describe here is followed, and if you did some research you would find that quite a few people do follow this "religion".

2005-06-24 [Hedgehog]: I would like to note that I am in no way attacking your religion. Just pointing a fact in response to [askdjnso]'s remark.

2005-07-17 [Strange Case of Ashley]: I wanna join! Can I be a Jedi? pwease?!

2005-07-17 [Apollo of Crowingblade]: Read up on the information I've provided, apply it to your life. If you have any questions just ask.

2005-07-17 [Strange Case of Ashley]: Yes sir! *serious, diligent face... looks comical*

2006-04-23 [prowlie]: -looks embarrassed- well... i may have possibly been one of the many who put that in the last census.... no i dont really practice it or any religions for that matter... yes i am a star wars fan yes i have a sense of humour. [Hedgehog] is clever.

2008-05-08 [Cyrano meets Merso]: I htink that the word religion is take to easy nowadays::)
