Jerome Lysine & Meara McGreggor

Rp Below

Jerome wandered through the library, a lap-top case slung over his shoulder and a portfolio of papers to grade. Finding a desk unoccupied by students or staff he booted up his computer and i forgot the coffee again.... he sighed. Another long paper grading session well at least it isn't past midnight this time he thought, putting on his glasses and taking out the first paper "ya know...if you're going to take the time to right a fifteen page analysis on why something works...you could at least do me the favor of organizing it" he growled at first page. First year classes where always interesting.

Meara walked into the library, ready for a long night of research. Soem of the wolves and vampires were having issues over boundries so she was going to look up history on the land. She wanted to see who had the rights to what. She saw, more felt his power, Jerome Lysine, a local teacher who happened to be a wolf. "Yelling at your papers wont get you far."

He smiled without looking up "No, it won't but it helps ease the pain of grading a poorly researched paper...though i must admit this particular student can write well...she'll make a good journalist perhaps" he chuckled

"Who is she?" Meara asked, sitting down next to him. She wasn't in any of his classes, and her major doesn't put her incontact with anyone who would. "I've got an extra cup of coffee if you want it."

He smiled "Her name is Analeasea Durnet and don't get me wrong the kid is a good writer...i just wish she would research her topics alittle more...and not ramble on about the same thing for seven pages" he smiled "why that sounds just dandy" he booted up his lap top.

"Research takes percistance and hard work. She's just a regular college student don't expect perfection." Meara said. She knew about research, and more awaited her. Research was how she became so good aat what she did.

"Which is why i generally don't....especially out of a freshman. If it where a senior or a student in grad school then i'd expect that sort of thing"

"Well I wish you luck with your grading. It looks like we both have a long night infront of us." Meara told him then walked over to the table across from his to start her own research.

"oooh what are you researching?" he looked up from his lap top after punching in a string of computer code.

"History of the changing and handleing of land. I'm trying to come up with a solution for a boundry dispute? Meara told him.

"Depends on which boundary disputes you are talking about. Lycan on lycan, or interspecial? If it's a dispute between species then your looking more along the lines of a book than an essay as there are many, and they vary in intensity depending on where you are at" it was obvious he liked talking about the subject. His raised eyebrow highlighted a faint scar to the right of his brow.

Meara looked at him, trying to decided if she should as his opinion. "It's between species. I was actually thinking on the lines of seeing what names the lands were under. Many have to buy land and trade the land through paper work to stay out of regular people's suspicion." Meara deided she pcould use his experiance.

"It is rummored that, at least when a tier one clan fights, more or less the documents are forged and they change hands many times through war" he stopped himself. He had studied a great deal on the class systems of established clans and the long history of war and infighting. Most of which was stored on the notebook sized external hard drive he kept always with him.

"Could you tell me wht\at you know about the clans. I want to manage this isssue with out violence and the more info I have the better." Meara told him. She loved to learn any way, which helped her in her job.

"Well among each species there exists a sort of clan structure usually. I've broken these up into four main groups. Tier one clans are what equates to royalty, the Mafia or otherwise the bourgeoisie. They aren't known for their violence but their struggles are often much more sinister and dark, and often involve members from the Tier two who are the soldiers. The soldiers are the fighters, most numerous and their alliances are often loose at best. Tier three are the assassins for hire. They bear no allegiance and are often the most dangerous of their race. Tier four are the hybrids. They are outcasts, and often congregate together. Wars often erupt of territorial disputes between Tier one and Tier four clans as they are the only ones that really hold territory. The other two are transient" he paused, before continuing "There is also a Clan made up the highest Tier ones from all the other species.....this...this is the Tier zero clan. They are small, often surviving as a lose organization within the southern reaches of the world, and it is believed their technology is derived from extra-terrestrial civilizations but this is largely rumor.....indeed most would say Tier zero is little more than rumor"

"Hmmmmmm." Meara pondered. "I wonder if I could figure out which of the teirs are having the most drouble with the vampires then from there plan my course of action."

"Of the four Tiers the secound one is most likely to fall under that catagory....unless you factor in the humans in which case there currently exists a near outright war as in guns and tanks over a large territory primarily inhabited by humans. The Lycans and Vampires both lay claim, and the two ruling clans behind it are hardly ones to be trifled with" he smiled, pulling up more files off of the hard drive.

"Human's arn't involved actually. The area has high pressure so the lack of oxygen would be dangerous for them. I'm thinkning about giving it to the Vampire, because they can breath easier than lycans, but as a result the vampire swould have to let the lycan's spread the boundries at least 3 acers in the west." Meara old him scanning through his files.

"Be careful when mediating such a treaty between the two. If they are fighting over it, especially if it is a place that you described then chances are they are old and well established groups"

"I;m sure they are, but my job is to be fair. I wont favor either groups, nor will i be bribed. Thats why the batty old witch gave me this job and not a local witch." Meara said. She had all ready recieved several bribs and 'gifts'; however she declided it all.

He smiled "just be careful...both sides use assassins and might i add they are quite good at what they do" he spoke from experience but decided to keep that part to himself.

"I don't think weither sides would like the consequences if they did." Meara siad with a twinkle in her eye. "Lets just say the job comes with certain benifits. The job is dangerous so percautions are taken."

"I'm sure it does. At any rate i have a few people i could introduce you to on both sides of the fence to ensure that nothing goes wrong" he smiled as he finished grading another paper. He was quite capable of multi tasking and this was obvious in that while one hand typed on the computer the other deftly made corrections to each essay that came across.

"I'd like that. I don't know many people since I arrived in town. I want to get to know the people I'll be influencing. After all I'll be a big part of their lives, and so I'm a complete stranger." Meara told him.

He smiled, not entirely sure what he was getting himself into.

"When do you think I could met them And who excatly are they?" She asked.

"Depends on who you want to get into contact with first" he said in an absentminded tone.

"I'd like to start with vamires and werewolves then fey if it's poassab;le. Right now i want to fix the major conflict between the vampires and wolves because they seem like the ones to cause the most violance first. The in wan to work backwards. By the end i hope to have the town on working together rrather than against each other." She could talk all day about her plans.

"Well....i can't get you in touch with the leaders of each...not just yet anyways but i can introduce you to a few people who can get you started on that path. It's formality....no one gets to the head without first being thouroughly vetted and oh how these people love their protocols" he sighed.

Meara giggled. "I've all ready met the heads of the species. What i do is met the people who my decicions will effect. I'd like to me the different people and children. I'm sure i'd learn more from them then the leaders. People like you."

"Ahhh so you have met the puppets very good then" he smiled "and how is that? Could it be that you seek a prespective that will actually help?" he laughed.

Meara looked at him with and retornted with out a hint of anything but total seriousness. "Of cource i do. I'm a witch, I am supost to help people. Human, were-animal, vampire, fey, banchee, ect... I hold to favorites nor judgement. So vampires need blood to live, so fey can't lie, and were-animals have difficulty going out when the moons out. It's part of who they are How can i ask them to be anything but. I just want everyone to live happily and together. "

He smiled "That last bit about the were-wolves is off, but it's common conception so i suppose you can be forgiven" he was in a light mood. He toyed absentmindedly with a lock of his hair as he finished off one of the few remaining papers.

Meara shook her head. "Maybe not for your pack, but many were- animals do. I know for a fact, since it was one of the first things i had to deal with when i moved here, is that many of the were-cats and coyotes have trouble not shifting during a full moon. And werewolves in my home town had the same issue, but unlike you they tended to drink a lot and shift just to see who had the pretties coats." Meara laughted at the memoriey of the last part. She did miss them, but nothing was going to bring her back to that place.

He laughed "ahhh so you had a jock-pack did you? They are the most amusing to watch....especially when someone decides to insult the others coat"

Meara smiled at him; however, memorie lain wasn't one she wanted to go down on. "They're quiet amusing; although, I'd love to met some of the local werewolves tomorrow if that's possable."

He hesitated briefly "Sure, some of them hang out at the bar...if you want to meet one that has morphed..the one's around here are a bit moody sometimes but i think you'll have fun"

"I'd like that. What time and where should I met you?" Meara asked.

He smiled "depends...morphed or human form?"

"I'd like to me the human first, as so both of us can be more comforable together." She told him. "I've got a class around twelve, but I'm free after that."

"Very well, we'll go as soon as your class is done"

"Okay, then I'll see you then!" Meara said gathering her stuff to leave. "By the way thanks. A lot of people were not happy about me taking over for the old woman."

"A new face is always nice, and your hardly one to dissapoint....the old woman was irritating enough...kept insisting on accessing all my files and passwords for some reason....i even re-routed it to infect her computer and she still didn't stop trying" he laughed.

Meara laughted wih him, but had a glint in her eyes. "I gues its a good thing I am realy handy with a computer. However, I don't force my way into people's privacy, just really percistant. See you tomorrow." She waved on her way out.

He smiled before returning to his work "Are you really going to introduce her to us Jerry?" a soft voice came from a nearby alcove "Yes, and why should that concern you?" there was a brief pause "Because she is not one of us" He smiled "Always one to keep the traditions alive aren't you? Ever thought that maybe that is the reason why war is very close to erupting between the races?"

Meara was smiling as she made her way to her bike. She was against cars and public transporttation because of hiw it affect the world. She wondered if the people she met tomorrow would be welcoming. She wasn't sure, exspecialy because of the way the mystical creature was hiding from her in the room. She didn't know what or whom it was, just that it he or she was there. She witch, and her job was to know magic.

That concludes Convo one

We can leave it here, continue or turn it into an actual rp together. Your choice.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm fine wit turning it into an rp
