Abilities/powers: Kaia is a healer. To use her ability she has to be touching the other person and cannot be seriously injured herself. She can heal minor to moderate injuries and mild illnesses easily; more serious injuries would take more time and energy to heal. When Kaia is using her powers, the physical manifestation of her mutation can range from her skin being faintly tinted to brightly glowing depending on how much she is using her ability. She see’s people’s energy fields as colored auras but can’t get any information from them unless she is touching them. The side effect to the person she is healing is a euphoric “drunk” feeling that may linger for a while after they are healed. She has also discovered that she has a mild empathic ability when she is reading someone, especially other mutants.

General appearance: Kaia is 5’9”, 170lbs, tan, with long black hair worn either in a braid or in loose waves. She has golden brown eyes and high cheekbones.
Additional Appearance: Kaia dyes a streak of her hair on the left side a different color every few weeks. She also has multiple piercings on both ears and her left nostril. A scar that is three centimeters at its widest point runs from her left temple to the underside of her jaw.
Personality: Kaia is generally friendly and warm but does not forgive people easily. She is a bit shy, so she is unlikely to make the first move in social situations. Kaia has always felt a bit out of place, even in her tight-knit family. As a result, she has a constant drive to improve herself and impress others. Kaia is highly competitive and susceptible to criticism.
Special Skills: Kaia is really good with children and her only hobbies are reading and hiking.

Weapon(s) of choice: She is not experienced with fighting, but is willing to learn. She grew up in a suburban neighborhood and learned how to hunt with guns and a compound bow so she is comfortable with weapons but hasn’t needed to defend herself.
Medical information: Kaia gets migraines if she over-uses her powers.
Brief History: Kaia is the oldest of four kids raised in a happy home in northern Montana. Her father is a professor at the local community college -though he is currently staying home with her little sister- and her mother teaches high school English. Despite her fortunate upbringing, Kaia has always felt like she does not belong anywhere. Her family has always been accepting of the fact that she was a mutant and encouraged her to attend Xavier’s sooner, but she tried to be “normal” as long as possible. Kaia is finally starting to feel more comfortable with her ability and is ready to meet more people like her.
