Character name: Krell Hufsey

Character setting: Upstate New York

Age: 18

Race: Human

Appearance: Stands at an impressive 6'2" and weighing in at around 172lbs. He doesnt really like to wear clothing, but since nudity is frowned on at the school he usually wears sweat pants and sandals. The exposed parts of his body give hints to his wolfy nature as his arms and chest are covered in a thick white hair. Also, his eyes have a canine look as well as his teeth. He has more of a swimmer's body then anything else, but it tends to be dirty from his runs through the woods on the schools ground. Dispite all this he doesnt seem all that imposing...just a little unnerving.

History: Krell was born in a small farming village in Germany to a loving mother and father and two siblings, but no matter how he tried it never felt like home. Around his 14th birthday he noticed a sharp increase in the number of wolves seen around his house as well as a sharp increase in his five senses. A few months later while he was trying to sleep he heard a voice calling his name from outside the house. Upon investigation he found a single wolf waiting for, what seemed like, him. He felt motivated to follow the wolf as it moved into the forest, quickly losing track of how long he had been walking. Eventually they come into a clearing where the moon's light clearly illuminated a large gathering of wolves. As they investigated him they began to howl and bark and growl, but much to Krell's amazement, he could understand them as if they were speaking his own language. Soon after this he grew dizzy and blacked out. Upon waking he found that most of his cloths were torn and he had no idea where he was or what happened. When he finally made his way back home to find that he had been missing for nearly three weeks. Obviously his family did not believe his story, till the police arrived and began relaying reports of a humanoid wolf in the area. After that day his human family never looked at him the same way and never worried if he vanished for several days, until several small pets and some farm animals began vanishing. Soon after, the villagers found out about his powers and tried to capture him. Fearing for his safety, his human family sent him away so that he will be safe.

Personality: Krell is a pretty fun guy to be around, can be seen smiling almost all the time, never get upset when someone makes a dog joke at his expense. All this is covering up his inner-turmoil. The animal in him is always trying to gain control over the human part of his mind. He fears for his loved ones and classmates, but does the best he can to keep those fears hidden.

Occupation: Student

Abilities: Other then the usual suite of feral senses and the ability to grow his fingernails into claws, he can transform into three different wolf related forms. The first is a normal looking wolf with all that entails. The second is more humanoid wolf which has heightened strength and agility. And then there is the third form which he never uses as it is this form where the animal side has enough strength to override his human side and gain control. He also has thick skin, tightly weaved musculature, and very strong bones which make him one hard animal to put down.

Interview:
[Chel.] answers the door to her office, "Oh hello Krell, a little late I see. Nevertheless, come in, come in..." She opens the door and leads you to a comfy seat across from her desk. The walls are dark red in color with a wooden trim. Along the right wall is a collection of books lined up perfectly along a wide bookcase. Chel sits herself down on in a leather chair and props her feet up onto the cherry wood desk. "So- I've read an awful lot about you, but I was wondering if I could know a bit more about your personality. Hobbies? Sports? Anything you would like to tell me."

"Vell, im a pretty outdoorsie type person. Hiking, hunting, eating my kills, and fighting off trespassers." Krell answered as he sat down in the chair offered to him. "Ozer zen zat I dont have any hobbies."

"Alright, good good.." Chel muttered, writing down a few notes on a clipboard. Crossing her legs, she leaned back in her seat. "Now, secondly- talk to me about this sort of- how do I put it... 'mid-shift' that you can do. It seems that typical werewolves don't have this trait and yet you do."

"Vell ze mid-shift is a smaller more agile version of ze full werewolf form. It is much more sensible in some situations as it it still good for combat just as much as moving around." Krell said with a hint of pride in his voice. "Zat and I dont feel like eating people in zhat form."

"Hmm....well, why don't you not shift into the 'third form'?" she asked, jotting down a few things. Chel leaned her elbows on her desk and chewed on the eraser.

"Remember me mentioning ze eating people part?" Krell asked going from pride to slight embarrassment. "If I change into ze third form I usually lose control and ze beast inside me takes over. I usually wake up covered in blood and full to bursting."

"Yes, but are you not able to keep yourself from turning into such?" Chel asked, crossing her legs under the desk. "Oh- how silly of me, did you want any water or coffee?" she asked, gesturing to an espresso machine in the corner of the room. Chel knew this guy was only 18, but it would be rude to not offer. With a quick movement, she moved some of her orange hair behind her ear.

"No sank you." Krell said to the offer of refreshment. "Normally I choose vhat form I take vhen it is needed. However, vonce a month I shift to this form against my vill." He looked around the room, not wanting to make eye contact. "Im vorking on learning to control it."

"Lemme guess- full moon, right?" Chel asked, adjusting her glasses. "Except for the 'three transformations' bit, you seem to be pulled right out of an old werewolf movie."

Krell scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed. "Yea, it is pretty similar to ze old school verevolves im afraid. I often try to find differences between me and zhem so zhat I can use them in defense."

"When was it that these transformations occurred again? And do your parents share any similarities?" she asked, jotting a few things down before looking at him.

"It vas a few months after my fourteenth birthday vhen ze whole sing occured." Krell explained, looking up at the ceiling as if it helped him remember. "It vas in ze middle of ze night too. Ze volves just called to me and I answered. As for my parents, ze are just normal people trying to deal vith my abilities and the effect it has had on everysing."

"The wolves....'called' to you?" Chel asked, tilting her head a bit. "What on earth would incline you to listen?"

"Vell, if you had a volf talking to you and you understood it as if it vas speaking your mozer's tongue you vould listen too." Krell said with a chuckle. "Zhat and some part of me vas screaming for me to listen, call it instincts." He chuckled again after saying this, but this time to himself as if he had said an inside joke.

"Well- I would probably question my sanity to tell you the truth." Chel said honestly with a smirk. "So- I've read your profile and wondered, do you have any weaknesses? I understand you are considered a 'feral' of sorts, but they are by no means unbeatable."

"I do have some veaknesses as you say, ozer zhen ze uncontrolled shifting." Krell began trying to think of them all. "Like you said I am a feral of sorts and have all ze heightened senses. Zhis comes in handy a lot but makes me vulnerable to loud sounds vhich can actually cause damage. Also I do not have ze fast healing so my vounds dont heal automatically and I still require medical attention."

"Alright..." Chel faded as she wrote a few things down on her notepad. She paused and chewed on her pen as she browsed her sheet. "So-" her eyes met his, "You've eaten humans before?"

"I dont know if I have or not." Krell, obviously uncomfortable with the question. "Vhen I get force-shifted into my sird form I black out. Kinda like you vould if you drank too much alcohol. Vhen I vake up I have no idea vhat has happened. Several times I woke up covered in blood and ozer times I vas so full I felt I may vomit. And...zhere have been people who vent missing around ze times of my changes and I cant help but feel responsible."

"Hmm....that can't be good, now can it?" she asked, "Why don't you seek out help for this? There has to be something out there that can stop it..."

"Yea, a bullet to ze head." he said with a hint of anger in his voice. "I have been battling zis internal beast for years now and I have made very little progress. No vone I have ever gone to has been able to help me, eizer."

"Surely a titanium cage could hold you-" Chel said, staring at him, waiting for an interruption.

"Yes it vould, and it does." Krell said with a serious look across his face. "On the occasions where I can tell I am going to force-shift I can usually get someone to assist me by locking me into a cage. Incase I loose the battle against the beast within all my loved ones are safe."

"Seems ironic that you would chose to live in upstate New York. Wouldn't somewhere like- say...Canada suffice more?" she asked, taking a drink of coffee herself.

"It may suit me much better, but zhen no vone vould be able to lock me up and I could end up hurting somevone." He said, "Zhat and Canadian volves arent all zhat friendly and I vould end up spending move of my time fighting zhem."

"I see- well that flat out sucks." Chel said honestly. "But obviously people must know about you, right?" She thought a new approach would be interesting. "I mean, certainly you have fan clubs or something? A real werewolf is even reality tv show-worthy."

"Vhy vould I be known?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. "I keep to myself and only shift vhile in ze voods or in a life or death situvation. Most campers or hikers zhat see me sink I am Bigfoot for some reason."

"You never thought of it? Becoming famous from this rarity?" Chel asked, unbelieving him. "Nothing like the circus or anything like that...but still, a LITTLE recognition would easily rack in a few thousand dollars." Chel then cleared her throat, this day was dragging on much too long...she was starting to lose her posture. "I mean- if you wanted."

"I dont vant money. If I cant get it from ze voods zhen it isnt vorth having." He said, a little upset that the thought even came to her head. "I dont need cloze or food or anysing like zhat."

"But then- why do you live in upstate New York of all places?" Chel inquired, lifting her eyes from his files to look him in the eyes. It was an honest question really.

"Are you saying zhat vhere you live determines vhat you vant in life?" Krell asked back. "It vas vhere my parents sent me vhen I had to leave. It vas close to ze coast and a shorter plane ride."

"I'm just saying- there are also coasts in Canada." Chel shrugged, waving a hand to apologize. She cleared her throat before taking a sip of water. "So- how about a new topic." Scanning her sheet, Chel found something. "Oh- explain an 'average' day."

"Vell, I get up around 6:00-6:30 in ze morning and go out to get me some breakfast. Usually rabbit or fox, but occasionally I get lucky and get deer. If ze latter happens I end up skipping lunch and doing ze same process for dinner." Krell said, trying to run through his usual day. "Vhen im not hunting, eating, or sleeping I am vorking on my control."

Chel was a bit alarmed by this answer. Seems that he was more canine then human, "Do you not enjoy things like- Arcades? Sports? TV? I mean- what a 'typical' teen your age would enjoy?"

"Never really liked zhem." he said with a shrug. "Vhy vould I vant to stay inside a small enclosed space vhen I could go outside and be free to move as I vant. And most of zhose games and TV shows are about stuff I can do anyvays."

"Hehe- well I suppose you would be right on that one." Chel chuckled a bit, adjusting in her seat. "If you don't mind me saying so, you sound more wolf then human. So, would you say that the only real thing you do, as far as human goes, would be...wearing clothing and walking on two legs?"

"Vell, walking on two legs yes, vearing clothing...thats a maybe." Krell said with a devious smile.

Chel lifted a brow, "So what else then? Can you drive? Do you use silverware? Convince me that you are more human then animal." she challenged.

"Vhy should I convince you of somesing I have never claimed?" Krell challenged back. "I feel more animal then human, vhy should I act othervise?"

Chel just bobbed her head, quickly writing some things down. He was very interesting indeed. "Your family is still in Germany, correct?" she asked, merely pressing on to the next topic.

"Yes, zhey stayed Deutchland. Zhey have lived zhere zheir entire life and couldnt bring zhemselves to leave." Krell explained.

"Sad..." Chel frowned, "So they send you to the states? Certainly Europe would be just as safe as it would be to live here? Not that THIS is safe to begin with. ...That is, for someone of your ...stature?"

"Vell, it vould be just as safe for someone zhat vas normal. Unfortuneatly for me all ze locals found out about my animal nature and immediately made ze connection to zheir missing livestock." Krell explained.

"OH!" Chel piped up. "Well now it all makes sense. There isn't any livestock in New York. Well...not a lot. So you just eat raccoons and such? No one misses those."

"Exactly." Krell said as understanding came over her. "And most people have zheir fancy pets put up by zhe time I normal force-shift so zhere isnt much vorry zhere. Except if zhere is a person attacked."

"Ah.... I see. Hold on a moment if you would." Chel said as she quickly crossed something off and rewrote it. After a short while, she looked at him and asked, "But have you ever had a run in with the police? Well...if you can recall or not."

"Zhere vas vone time zhat I vas at ze wrong place at ze wrong time." Krell explained with a smile. "Zhey vere searching for a fugitive and stumbled upon my and my dinner. I still have ze marks." He added as he lifted his shirt to show three bullet sized scars on his lower back.
