Lady Lyenisa walked into her chamber, walking over to the large double glass doors that opened out onto a balcony. She opened them to let in a breeze. Lyenisa sat down in a comfy chair near the balcony. She laid back as she looked out on the landscape.

Corus knocked on the door, waiting for Lady Lyenisa to answer.

Lyenisa stood up and walked over to the doors to her room, opening them. "Oh Corus..." she said softly. "How are you?"

"I am fine my Lady. And you? How are you feeling today?" He asked. If she was well enought he would taker her to met Maddy.

"I am fine... thank you...the air is helping me..."

He smiled at her. "I'm glad. I was wondering if you felt well enought to travel." Corus said.

"Travel? Really Corus?" she asked softly with hope in her eyes. She longed to travel outside of her room and the castle itself again.

"Yes really; however, only if your health premits it. If ypou remember I mentioned that I knew a person who you would love to met."

"Please Corus... please..."

"Are you absolutly sure you feel weel enought t travel?" Corus wasn't going to take any chances.

"Please Corus... I'm sure..."

"Very well, but first let me heal you a bit." Usung some of his magic Corus destroyed some of the disease that plagued her.

"Thank you Corus.... you are a very kind friend...." Lyenisa said softly with a smile.

"Very few people would agree with you my lady." Corus said. "However, Maddy will be one who does. She's the owner of the Willow Inn and tavern" they left to see that the wolf shapshifter was up to.

She follows.

When Corus opened the door for the Princess, the wind blew in his face. "I guess we left the balacny door open.

Lyenisa nodded. "It would seem so..." She moved over to the balcony, closing the doors. She turned back to look at Corus. "Thank you Corus... it was nice to get out of the castle... to really be somewhat free again...."

"I'm Glad." Corus said. "As much as I woul love to talk I have to get back to the inn and finish some plans for the Ball."

Lyenisa nodded. "Thank you, Corus... Thank you for the outing..."

"Your welcome. Now I'll see you tomarrow in the main hall were everyone will be arriving at." Corus left the room to return to Willow Inn and Tavern

Lyenisa went into her bathroom, changing her clothes and wrapping in a robe. She came back into the room and laid down in her bed. "Sage...?" she whispered.

"Yes, my lady..." came Sage's voice as he crawled from under her bed, pulling out his lap harp. "You seem to be in a good mood, lady..."

Lyenisa smiled. "Yes... Corus took me away from the castle for a while... it was nice to be out of the castle... but... I'm tired..."

"I'll play for you..." Sage said softly, sitting down in one of her chairs. He began to play an old lulaby that he had learn many years ago.

Lyenisa was soon asleep.

Sage stood up, and heard his stomach growl. He had been waiting for her, having fallen asleep before waking to her coming back, so he had forgotten to eat. Sage moved to the hidden door way to the chambers that Lyenisa had given him.

Lady Lyenisa awoke on the day of the ball, and prepared for the ball.

Lady Lyenisa entered her room, closing her door behind her. "Stupid Evan...." she muttered. She went over and opened her double balacony doors to let in the air, then heading over and laying back on her lounge couch, closing her eyes.

When Evan knocked on the door he didn't hear a reply so he slowly opened the door, which he then saw the princess with her eyes closed.

Lyenisa turned on the couch, curling up a bit in her sleep. "Evan..." she mumbled.

Even smiled, and sat down next to the princess on the couch. "Some company I've been today." He kissed her forehead then put a blanket around her shoulders. He sat the with his head resting on the back of the couch till he started to doze off.

She ended up snuggling against him. Later she woke to seeing him beside her. She slowly sat up, and gently nudged him. "Evan...."

Evan felt a warm hand on his shoulder, but had no urge to wake, resulting in him to grab the hand nudging him and pulling the person owards him. Lyenisa he thought.

Lyenisa blushed as she was pulled into his chest. Evan...

As Evan slept a dream pruged his mind, one that he had been dreaming about since the death of his parents. It started with the image of a mon of knights running after a fleeing man.
"Stop that monster!" one of the knights yelled. "He has the stone!."
"You'll never catch me you insignifacant fools." Fire was every were. Evan could smell death he woke with a start, and breath heavly. The dream wasn't as bad as the others.

"Evan...." she asked softly, still laying against his chest where he had pulled her.

"Leynisa?" Evan said as he slowlly came back to the world of the living. Evan looked around and remembered he was in the princess's chanbers. "I hope I didn't wake you. I must have dosed myelf."

"No...you didn't wake me...I woke...seeing you there...I called your name...and..." Lyenisa looked down blushing. "...and you pulled me against you...."

A blush spread across evan's face. "I'm so sorry. I came to check if you were all right. I saw you were pale then left the ball."

"I... was feeling sick..." she whispered.

"I hope your feeling better now." Evan said as he stood up and stretched. "If your up to it would you like to accomany back to the ball. I promise not to start anything with Roan or Turan any more."

"That added to me feeling sick... I... didn't like it...especially when Roan first came into the room... you just stared at her...." she whispered. "I....like you..."

Evan smiled at her. "I like you very much as well. As for looking at Roan, she is very pretty, but she is no match for you. You are kind and caring she has yet to come into her responsibility. We are both royalty and knw the weight of a kingdom."

"Why did you just stare at her...? It...saddened me...."

Abarhi slipped noiselessly through the balcony doors, blending perfectly with the shadows my lady, may i borrow him for a moment? Do not be alarmed i have absolutely no intent in harming you he spoke inside her mind.

I....okay....I...

Are you easily frightened M'Lady? The prince here has some questions that need answering, so i hope that you aren't, if you want some more time with him then that's fine with me as well the room grew cool, though it wasn't tangibly cold, more like a dark feeling that weighed in on the mind.

I am sick....sir....a mysterious illness.... my fear is through that....

ever thought it was an induced sickness? Meaning somone is keeping you this way? I find it odd that one of such otherwise good health should remain so ill his voice was tender, and even intentionally soothing.

This illness has killed many in the kingdom.... I am only being able to stay in what health I have with the help the healers....

and i doubt the healers are doing all they can he thought to himself. The shadows deepened in the room until the lights where barely visible could you ask your new boyfriend what he knows about the murders of a former Noble family of his? The Nyx family, they where massacred awhile ago at the behest of his great grandfather

I...I can't...I... Lyenisa looked around, wrapping her arms around her.

why not? Is somthing wrong Princess? I can help if there is

"Lyensia it's fine." Evan said. "I'll answer his questions." He had felt the very moment Abarhi entered the room. "He wont kill me because It'll cause to much attention brought to Turan, resulting in problems for Roan. Plus I have nothing to hide."

Lyenisa nodded. "Alright Evan..."

Abarhi appeared as if out of thin air in front of them, though he had used his talent set to alter his appearance, voice and even smell in their eyes "First off, don't ever compare me to Turan; that brigand has been a thorn in my ass for far to long" he smelled of perfumes and stuff from an aristocratic background.

Evan smirked. "Turan seems to be a thorn fr every one." He leaned back in the couch asnd crossed his fingers. "So what canI help you with? It' not everyday I can called upon for questioning."

"What do you know of the Nyx family of Nobles and their being massacred by your houses' hand?" he said abruptly, he looked to them like the noble that he once was, and nothing like the shadow assasin that he had become.

Evan looked at him in surprised and anger; however, the anger wasn't towards Abarhi. "They should have never been involved. You're asking why my grandfather killed all the vampires? The Griffin god told him that to keep our family in power and safe the vampires must die. Although, he struck a deal with the oldest son of the Nyx family. He would help my grandfather reach the goal the god set forth, in return for his sisters life. However, in the diaries I have read my grandfather never kept the promise." Evan hated the god for causing the death of millions. "The gods only think of us as tools."

Abarhi smiled "So then your family has dealt with the gods? How interesting" his voice was ice cold "So then what became of the elder brother?" Abarhi wasn't expecting to have been so successful "And i find it appalling that your house was so complacent in those massacres, and dont act like i wasn't there...i'm far older than you think"

"You think I don't know that. I may be sixteen, but I can tell when I've met someone much wiser than myself." Evan absently started to fiddle with Lyensia's hair. "All of the Royal families are ruled by the gods. In the begining of time, when the gods were placed as the pillars of the world the royal families all made a pack with them. The result being that the the god in control of the kingdom can kill the entire living Royal line with one breath. That's why my grand father killed murderously. As for the elder brother I do not know. the end of the purges was the end of my grandfather's life, which ends his diary entries."

Abarhi shook his head "The things people will do for precieved power and authorities. I must commend you, for recognising one who celebrates his birthdays in centuries rather than years, and if what you say is true....perhaps it is best that the gods be overthrown after all, and not saved. For my part i am neautral, i come by power the way it was meant to be obtained" he looked softly at lady Lyensia "I pity you, M'lady for you should not have to bear the burden that you do" he headed for the window.

"Wait." Evan called out before Abarhi left. "There are a few more things you should know."

"That being?" he turned slowly.

"One, the plague in this kingdom isn't being caused my Corus. Onthe contrary it's severaly pising him off. Two, my grandfather let more vampires go then was written in the history books. If your looking fro the elder brother, if he's alive he'd be hiden in Roc Kingdom. Three, the gods are changing. Something is going to happen soon, and it isn't going to be pretty. I'll have the chance to met the Griffin god on my corination day. You might want to keep that in mind. The griffin god wanted the vampires dead for a reason." Evan said to him.

Abarhi smiled "Then i will leave you with this my young prince; Power gained through one's self is one that will last then power gained through a source uncontrolable. You cannot control the gods, and they as you know are fickle at best"

It was Evan's turn to smirk. "I have no plans or goals to control the gods. I learned from my father's mistake, which caused his own death. The power I gain as king will not be from a selfish god, but of my own hands. I side with Corus for a reason."

"Be careful what path power takes you Evan, i've whached the same power cause the rise and fall of many, and Corus is one such individual who it will lead to his own undoing....be careful lest you fall with him" He turned towards the balcony, opening the door as noislessly as he had before.

"I'm often amazed at how people seem to think Corus want power, when all he his trying to do is the opposite." Evan shook his head.

"He tampers with somthing that is better dealt with being ignored...never tamper with somthing unless you understand it, and i doubt Corus, though he is an immortal even understands the gods"

Evan's eyes twinkled. "He knows that, which why there are people and powers involved that you or anyone else knows about. You'd be suprised; however, that is all I can say on the matter."

Abarhi vanished out of thin air back to the ball room.

"He...thinks Corus is evil?" Lyenisa asked softly.

"Many people think Corus is evil; however, they're wrong." Evan said.

"But...Corus is helping me....he... he sees that I don't like just being Kept in my room...in the castle...." she replied softly.

"I know. You you like to return to the ball, or go for a walk in the courtyeard?" Evan spontainously said.

"The courtyard....I...don't feel like going back to the ball..." she said.

"Then lets go. Maybe you could tell me a bit about your family." Evan said, as he headed towards the door to Phoenix Courtyard 2.

Lyenisa left with him

When Evan opened the door he sat the princess on her bed, and whipped the hair from her face. "You truey are beautiful, I just wish you were in better health."

Lyenisa looked up at Evan blushing. "I...want to be better, Evan.....Corus has been trying to help me....but I still get over whelmed... I...you are truly handsome....."

"Thanks: Evan said. He lean down towards the princess. "Then hoefully you'll agree to your father's idea." He said cripticaly. "May I kiss you good night?"

Lyenisa blushed and nodded.

Evan leaned and placed his lips in hers. "Goodnight my lady" he got up bowed to her then left the room.

Lyenisa laid back, resting.

Sage came through his hidden panel. "Lady Lyenisa...." he said softly.

Lyenisa sat up on her bed. "Sage... did you enjoy yourself at the ball...? Oh I hope you did..."

Sage nodded.

Kari came into the room quietly, and the first thing he saw was the princess. He tried not to stare at her, but it was hard; she was so beautiful.

"I'm glad Sage...you're always so quiet....and you're my friend, I would like to see you happy...." Lyenisa said softly.

Sage nodded. "My Lady...being allowed to play for you gives me happiness..."

"Oh Sage...." Lyenisa stopped what she was going to say. "Who are you?" she asked softly, staring at Kari.

Kari bowed to her. "Call me Kari, milady."

Lyenisa looked at Sage. "Sage...why did you bring him here?"

Sage bowed his head. "I..." He had never been lost for words before, and a bard is never lost for words. "Lady Lyenisa..."

AS Evan walked into the room He gkared at the unknown man named Kira. "Leave us!" Evan demanded to both sage and Kari. Kari Left right away.

Sage looked over at Evan. "I....yes Lord.... I will head to the inn...." he said. Looking at Lyenisa, he bowed. "Lady Lyenisa..." Sage quickly left the room, quietly closing the door behind him.

Lyenisa looked over at Evan. "I didn't know one of the men.... but don't talk to Sage like that again... he is my friend...please Evan...." she said, looking over at Evan after watching Sage leave.

Evan sighed as he sat down on the couch in the room. "I'll not apolize for the way I spoke to him, but I will keep it in mind that you caare for him. That's actually why I came here. We have several problems arrising and I need to borrow him if you'll let me."

Lyenisa sat down next to him. "I do care for him... but please no I don't love him.... he has been a kind and caring friend since my illness....but..." she looked into his eyes. "What problems, Evan? What's going on?"

Evan looked at her, searching to see if she was strong enough for the truth. "Your father has ordered the murder of all wereanimals in his kingdom, including Sage. He has asked me to lead the massacure, and if I do so I can have your hand inmarrage. If not I'm to leave this kingsom and return to my own, without a bride. The problem is the Luminecent Council."

Lyenisa looked at him in shock. "You're to murder all were-animals...? Including Sage....? No... no...that's wrong.... I love you Evan.... but why at the cost of so many lives.....? What is the Luminecent Council? And why are they the problem and not my father's misguided order?" Lyenisa looked at him pleadingly.

Evan looked at her pledingly. "I'm going to attempt to spare as many as I can, but I wont be able to save everyone. Someone is controling your father and we have no idea who. Corus is furiated my this, and the fact this puts Maddy in danger. As for the counsil, once a year the leaders of the Wereanimals gather with other creatures of the world talk and solve problems. However, I was supost to go this year, but I think it'd be better to send Sage in my place. One I can trust him. Two, It'll get him out of the kingdom safely. I have other buisness I need to take care of."

"You're going to send Sage to this council? But...father....." Lyenisa looked down. "Evan....I... I can't just sit here....this is wrong....I don't like this at all....."

Evan grimenced. "I know, I don't like it either, but My hands are tied." Sighing Evan went to hold one of her hands. "No were is safe in Tyradias at the moment, expecially the council. Promise me you'll remain at the palace were I'll know your at least a bit safe."

"I...I'll..." Lyenisa started, placing her other hand on top of the hand that was hold her hand. "Evan....just promise me that you will keep yourself, Maddy...and Sage safe....please...."

"I'll do my best, but I need you to promise me Lyenisa." He shifted to face her all the way. "I need to know that you are safe."

Lyenisa looked up at him. "I...I promise Evan... I don't like it... but...I know I'm not strong enough....I'll stay here, Evan...."

Evan let out a breath thathe didn't realize that he was holding. "However, there is something I'd like you to ask and talk about with your mother."

"My mother? What about my mother...?" Lyenisa asked concerned.

"While I'm gone I'd like it if You and your mother could keep an eye out around the palace. Don't put your self in danger, but see if you can find the puppet master behind all of this."Evan said

Lyenisa nodded. "Alright love.... but please you be careful too...." she said softly.

Evan smiled down on her. "I will, and when this is over we can be married. Would you like to do it here or in my kingdom?"

Lyenisa blushed. "I...I've never been to the Academy.... I do hear it is beautiful...what do you think about there?"

Evan smiled at her. "I'd like that very much. That way we could invite everyone we care about with out having to worry about politics."

Lyenisa smiled back. "Oh I'd love to not have that worry...."

Evan sighed and stood up. "I have to leave for a few day's, but I'll be back. "He leaned to kiss her forehead. "Talk with your mother and becareful."

Lyenisa nodded. "Be safe...." She stood up as well, and walked Evan to the door of her chamber.

Lyenisa rushed into her room, falling down on her bed crying. After what seemed like hours, Lyenisa stood up, wiping her eyes. "I'll...see you all sometime..." she said softly to herself. She changed into a simple dress, pulling a cloak over her shoulders and the hood over her head, and as quick as she could, she quickly moved through the castle, leaving it. She headed off to the Luminescent Forest.

Aren't love triangles just wonderful? There wouldn't be any good, decent drama in movies, books, anime, or anything if great love triangles like this didn't exist.

I especially love it when the girls fight over a guy. ^_^
