Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu review
Written by L. Neil Smith, this novel tells a tale of Lando Carlissian, gambler, con-artiste and an old "friend" of Han Solo. The story situates in a time before he's met Han and just after he's won the famous
Millennium Falcon in a game of Sabacc.
Lando is tricked into a planet to come after a massive treasure, but little he realises that someone is actually conning him.
I found this book from a secondhand store and all the time thought the name was
Mindsharp not
Mindharp.
The book is quite thin and quick to read. The problem is that contains a lot of description of the Sabacc games and as I don't really get the rules, it was a bit boring to read from time to time.
It was nice to read about Lando's past, even though there were times he reminded of Han Solo a bit too much, but luckily the author made a clear disctinction between these two scoundrels as Han is more eager to grab the blaster and Lando relies on his charisma.
This book is for the Star Wars (and Lando) fans, it's a nice pastime, but it doesn't bring anything new to the Star Wars universe.
