Tangler
Info - Tanglers, also known as stranglers by the catfolk or Nozzles in the east are carnivorous plants that hunt by ambush. They have powerful feeding apendixes that are sensitive to touch, they hide these powerful spiked vines amongst regular hanging vines and as soon as an animal touches them they coil around, using hook like spines to hang on to their prey, they slowly drag it up to its main body growing as a parasite on a host tree. Its body uses powerful acids to feed, then it discards the bones and sets up its trap once more. The tangler's grim seudonyms come from the fact its vines hang at about the height of an average humanoid, meaning that when it traps a human, the vine'll coil around its neck and strangle the victim (if the spines don't sever the throat first).
Appearance - Tanglers look like giant bulbous plants that grow off the side of large trees, they adopt the bark and color of the trees they attach to. The lower part of their bodies have a tubular mouth lined with spines as well as several long, powerful vines that hang down, disguised amongst regular vines.
Areas - Tanglers can be found on the deeper areas of forests or corrupted places. They usually require thick vegetation and tall trees to survive and hunt.
