The proper uses of the 'your' group

More commonly used as:
Your-
ur, or yor

You're-
ur, u r, yor

At least that's what I've seen

Now, most people seem to have a lot of trouble figuring out when to use each of the two 'yours'. I'm here to help you out.

The definition:

Your
-Used as a modifier before a noun: your boots; your accomplishments.
-A person's; one's: The light switch is on your right.
-Informal. Used with little or no sense of possession to indicate a type familiar to the listener: your basic three-story frame house.

You're
Merely a contraction of the two words "you" and "are". With this contraction, you MUST use an apostrophe, between the 'u' and the 'r'.

Now let's see what can be done about your horrid spelling 'techniques'. It's quite simple to decide when and where the proper 'your' should go. If you're not sure, say the sentence you're writing with saying 'your' then saying 'you are' if 'you are' sounds funny, it's probably the wrong time to use it.

We shall run my oh so scientific test again. First, type 'ur', then type 'your'
Repeat this test with 'u r' and 'you're'

Ready-Set-Go

Finished? Now, again how long did it take? For someone who's on a computer, you should be able to type, maybe not well or fast, but you know the correct spellings of things. Of course if you don't, this wiki is here to lead you down the right path. The path of correct spelling and punctuation, your teachers will love you dears.

2004-08-09 [Augury]: Non, Foamy, you're the stupid one FOR putting that IDIOTIC comment onto a decent, intelligent page like this. I loathe you already! ^.^

2004-08-27 [Shining light]: "a apostrophe", eh? I know the emphasis on this wiki is (supposedly) spelling, but the grammar could be better. when used in conjunction with a vowel, the 'a' becomes 'an'.

2004-08-28 [Blackshire]: Could be a typo.

2004-09-01 [Seamless]: It was a typo, I'm not perfect. Jesus -_-

2004-10-02 [YourAdHere]: o, i thots u were. ^_^

2004-10-15 [Ukia]: Hey, use "you" instead of "u"

2005-03-30 [manwe]: it's very obvious who are the "stupid" ones here. hahahahha i LOVE this page and the other related grammar pages... perhaps some of you "wannabegothettes" should take a lesson from this.... (just a thought, and probably beyond you.....)

2005-04-03 [Kayne]: What the hell has gothic to do with spelling?

2005-04-03 [Seamless]: I'm not sure exactly, but *shrugs*

2005-08-06 [I'm her Georgia *Peach!*]: I like this wiki! ^-^ it's full of sarcastic goodness!

2005-08-08 [Nicoda]: i love this its neat.

2005-08-28 [Seamless]: Aww, thanks ^_^

2006-02-01 [sezmo lex]: See that gets me, [Foamy] will spell shit with a "Y" not an "I", same amount of letters and we all still know she is using bad language! Why would she do that?

2006-04-19 [Dominus]: Sticklers unite! Forward, in the name of the Apostrophe! Together we shall build a brave new world of correct grammar and general legibility!

2006-05-26 [Mr_McEwan]: You're just crazy! lol. Shame people on here don't know about this wiki

2006-05-30 [Seamless]: Well, I suppose I could...advertise, that would take work though. This wiki is for legibility as well as laziness =D

2006-08-13 [Sabbe Fhtagn]: lets put it practice: your wiki pages are cool
you're a cool person to make such wiki pages

2006-08-13 [Seamless]: Yes, yes I know...I'm just amazing >_>

2008-12-31 [RebellionMarch]: well, im not certain I'm bothered when people forget their apastrophe's, i think the biggest problem is people who shorten words and use l33t speak, with the exception of n00b, because that's the only name there is for people who think english is different on a computer.
