Lucas poked his head around the shop, staring at all of the old vases and other antiques. "Can I help you?" the woman asked. She stared at him with a warming smile.
Lucas shrugged, "I have this problem..."
"We have magical cream for that," she said dismissively.
Lucas blinked. "Well, not
that kind of problem. I'm referring to my addiction to women who mostly hate me."
"Go on."
"And I have all of these fantasies that I want to play out, but I repeat that they mostly hate me..." Lucas explained.
The woman grinned. "Ah, I have just the thing for you!" She ducked behind the counter, returning with a small yellow pencil. "Here it is!"
"A pencil?" Lucas asked blankly.
"Do you believe in magic?"
"I guess so," he shrugged.
"Well, this will show you whatever you write," she explained. "Watch this," she grabbed a piece of tablet paper and made a squiggly line. The line broke free from the paper and began dancing in the air before them. "See?"
Lucas stroked his chin. "What if I wanted to use a specific person? Say, somebody from my school?"
"If you have a yearbook, stare at them while writing their full name the first time it appears in your 'story' and watch it play out," she shrugged. "Works like a charm..."
"I'll take it!" Lucas grinned maniacally as he grabbed the pencil, slapping a fifty dollar bill on the counter, dashing out of the store.
Anka and Lulu walked into the store, watching in disbelief as Lucas dashed from the store, looking happier than ever. They met one another's gaze, shrugging it off and continuing into the store.
"Ah, my most valued customers!" the woman greeted them.
"Hey, voodoo lady," Lulu muttered, waving halfheartedly as she began exhuming the cloth that was hung up.
"That wasn't very nice," Anka frowned at her friend's mannerisms.
"Well she
is responsible for some freaking things that happened to us. Like the time we kept switching bodies, she sold Akira's dad that pen that altered reality, the time I kept having weird dreams that made me paranoid, that time your hair was blue..."
"Right, right," Anka laughed nervously.
"What's special about the cloth?" Lulu asked.
"Those are vanishing capes. Put one on and you're invisible, take it off and you're visible," the woman explained.
"I can see a good prank coming out of this," Lulu said as she grabbed two capes, taking them to the counter.
"I'm gonna browse some more," Anka said as she made her way to the charms that covered the wall.
"Mmmm! Nami..." Lucas moaned as he passed her, looking drunk.
"What was that about?" Nagi asked, staring after Lucas.
Nami shrugged. "I haven't been ignoring him any less than usual."
"Do you think he's developing a bigger crush on you?" Nagi asked.
"Please don't suggest that again," Nami muttered stopping at her locker. "I do want to eat and remain full..."
"Well, I've got a bigger crush on you," Nagi added.
"No," Nami argued. "You're obsessed with me. There's a difference."
"And yet you're still not creeped out by me or anything I do and say," Nagi said as he leaned against the locker beside hers. He watched her intently. "Why is that?"
Nami stood, closing her locker. "Remember that when a girl likes you she's ten times more obsessed with you than you ever could be."
"Duly noted," Nagi replied, smirking.
Nami blushed, "Let's just go to political science..."
Lucas walked in, wielding two pencils, his year book, and a drunken look on his face. "Hello, my beauties!"
"
His beauties?" Chloe raised an eyebrow, turning to watch him take his seat at the back of the room.
"Why does he look
satisfied?" Lulu asked. "I've seen that look hundreds of times!"
"So have I and it's the satisfied from great sex look," Chloe said in awe.
Anka sighed, "Even Lucas has sex before me..."
"I don't know anybody desperate enough..." Lulu muttered. "Even
you have standards."
"Even me?" Anka asked indignantly. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"That you don't get laid and most people would be desperate enough to do Lucas by now," Chloe answered.
"Well, I could have sex if I wanted to," Anka murmured. "But let's keep this focus on Lucas."
The three girls turned around to face Lucas who was staring at this year's year book. "Mmmm....seein
g a devil's threesome!" he moaned, making note of it.
"From the sound of it, our perv has developed a porn addiction," Chloe said simply.
"Not a big deal, but it could start to affect us..." Lulu offered.
"Or we can stay out of his pervy little world," Anka suggested.
"Well, what if it does affect us?" Chloe pressed.
Anka raised an eyebrow, "I fail to see how the perv's porn addiction can affect us since...and here's the crazy thing...none of us are porn stars..."
Lulu turned to watch Lucas drool over the air molecules in front of his face. "I can't believe I'm saying this but I am actually a little worried if he's that far gone."
"Well, there are plenty of reasons for him to be so loopy," Anka commented.
"Like?" Chloe tilted her head to the side as she continued studying Lucas.
"Like drugs, lack of sleep, insanity and porn addiction," Anka replied.
"I don't know..." Lulu frowned.
"Yeah, he's even scaring me a little," Chloe shivered for emphasis.
"Okay, okay. Fine. We interfere if he starts affecting us somehow," Anka suggested.
"Like air groping?" Chloe chuckled.
"Sure, we can start...there..." Anka turned around to find Lucas pretending to grope her via the air.
