~Luki's story page four~

Despite himself Luki found himself checking on Numori when ever Arthur went on a "soul journey". He didnt get much sleep he got to anxious at night. He didn't really like the church she was at. they pushed her so hard she almost passed out once, but she pushed herself and was determined. Luki was surprised, for all the begging she did she worked hard and did well. It almost made Luki feel like he did the right thing...almost.
He was on his way to see Numori, she had just been transferred to a big Cathedral in District Four.

"Ahh-Ahhhh-Ahchoo!!..ughhh I hate winter." Luki growled blowing his nose with a handkerchief. with his nose clear he picked up on the scent of blood.
"Crap....I'm going to be a do-gooder again." He sighed as Maline took that has his cue to hide and wait for him to come back.
"Sorry Maline, I'll be right back!" Luki called as he took off into a small line of trees as he emerged on the other side he could see a white Victorian styled house the smell of blood was definitely coming from that building.
Within seconds Luki was inside the building, nothing looked out of place down there.
Luki quickly but still cautiously made his way up the stairs that where close to the entrance.
His eye widened in shock as he reached the top and saw two young blond girls bloody and unconscious on the floor. The taller one looked to be around thirteen or fourteen, she laid half on top of the smaller girl around the age of ten or elven, she had a large, deep gash in the side of her head.
The younger's neck was bleeding lightly both of their pulses where faint.
Luki quickly and carefully picked them up trying to heal them as he hurried out of the house, he thankfully knew where a near by village was.

'Please, please let me get them there in time... '

Luki prayed, probably for the first time.
Luki got them to the hospital as soon as Vamperically possible.
Everything just kinda faded from his attention as the nurses and doctors hurried around and took the girls from him.
He answered each questioned they asked to the best of his ability before he was able sit between the two girls beds as this died down.
"Will they be okay?" Luki asked.

"I think the younger one should be...but the older has a serious head injury." The doctor replied.

"Oh..Okay thanks.." Luki replied feeling guilty he couldn't get them to the doctor sooner.

Luki glanced over at the girls, he could see they had strong souls, then he shocked to realize...like his parent these girls had tiny strings, no actually as he payed attention he noticed it was more like tiny ribbons that connected all three of their souls.
'What does this mean..?'
Luki thought looking between the girls he didn't feel the erg to kiss them or anything..infect that particular thought grossed him out..so that definitely wasn't it.
either way..he was connected to them some how.
Luki gasped as he realized, Numori was also connected to him he couldn't recall how though, he never paid enough attention.
"Numori...Da**" Luki muttered as he lowered his head here he was thinking about here again when there where two kids in critical condition next to him.
needless to say Luki didn't get much sleep, three days past and nether of the girls had woken up yet.
Luki's eyes fluttered open from his twenty six minute nap.
He looked over at the girls not to surprised at the fact that they where both still out cold.
about seven minutes later though he was shocked to notice the youngest's eyes fluttered open.
"Nngh...E-el....?" She mumbled something but even Luki's vampire ears couldn't pick it up.
"Good morning." Luki said turning towards her more.
The girl looked over at him, she had big brown eyes, some people say the eyes are the gateway to the soul this seemed very true with this child.
"Wh-where's Elly?" She asked, Luki leaned back so she could see the older girl.
"I-Is she..Is she alright?!!" She nearly yelled.
Luki had no clue but there is no way he'd admit that. "Yes...she was just alittle more injured she should be fine." Luki replied.
the girl narrowed her eyes as if judging his answer before she closed her eyes and nodded. "Alright...good."
"May I ask, what your name is?"
"Flo-Lilly."
"I'm Luki, its nice to meet you."
"did you..save us?" Lilly asked curiously
"I uhh....I kinda..I umm...I didn't do much..I just brought you here."
"That's a yes..dumb dumb." Lilly stated with a deadpan look.
"What did this little adorable kid just call me?!"
Luki wonder as his eye twitched.
"Uhh..okay then..anyway..how are you feeling?" Luki said looking more concerned and serious.
"One word...OOOWWWWWWW!!" Lilly replied clamping her eyes shut.
Luki cringed at the loud "Ow", as the doctor came over.
"Luki can please step outside we need to change her bandages."
Luki nodded and headed out.
after several minutes they allowed him back in the room.
He talked with Lilly for awhile, to his surprise she warmed up to him pretty fast.
The next day Elis woke up. she took longer to warm up to him, but she did.
From then on the Maestro was part of the wonderful trio of misfits~

"T-this is where you live?" Elis asked looking around the small clearing, (probably looking for a house).
".....there's no house.." Lilly noted looking almost horrified.
"Yep!! it not much to much people, but its actually a great home~" Luki replied with a large dumb grin.
"Oookkaayyy...so where do we sleep?" Elis said still looking around.
"Oh right over there!" Luki pointed at the huge hallowed out tree.
"okay...this will take some getting used to.." Lilly said noticing the lack of beds.
"So that's why we had to buy some futons..." Elis sighed.
"Exactly!...oh and the raccoon over there thats glaring at me, is Maline." Luki said still overly excited.

'Okay...its official. We've been rescued by a crazy hobo lunatic.'
Lilly and Elis decided.

A few months later

"That's it! I'm kicking your fu**in A**!" Elis exclaimed tackling Arthur as Luki walked up with food.
"Cthulhu said it not me!!" Arthur said trying to wiggle out from under her.
"Cthulhu said it my A**! you're just throwing your voice!" Elise replied readying her claws.
"HEY! BREAK IT UP!!" Luki demanded causing Elis to quickly scramble away from Arthur looking surprised and worried.
"He-He started it!" she meeped out.
"First off, I heard you cussing, and you know that's not allowed. Secondly, where his lips moving when you heard "Cthulhu'?"
"No...but he could be really good at ventriloquism..."
Luki gave her a hooded gaze as he crossed his arms.
"I should apologize huh?" 
Luki nodded as Arthur ran beside him. Cthulhu's voice came ."Devil girl..I say kick her out of our group."
"I'mma goin' to bite your head off you stupid squid!!" Elis growled stepping forward.
"Help, help! the Devil is PMSing!!" Cthulhu chuckled out.
"Enough Cthu. Let her apologize." Luki said calmly as he set their food on the picnic table, which he had stolen from the park of a near by village.
"Fine." Cthulhu mumbled.
Elis took a deep breath and tried to calm down. "I'm sorry, Arthur..." she muttered.
Luki looked at Arthur, asking if it was a good enough apology.
"Apology accepted." Arthur replied.
"Thank you Luki..those two have been yelling since you left." Lilly said climbing down from the tree she was watching from.
"No problem. Use some sanitizer and get over here to eat."
Lilly nodded and used the Hand-sanitizer, another stolen item.
"*sigh* I think I'm going to go on another trip soon..." Arthur muttered as he sat down.
"Oh yeah, cause you'll totally find paradise in the middle of an apocalyptic country." Elis stated getting food onto her plate.
"People can find happiness anywhere, they just need to work harder for it sometimes." Luki replied disinterested in the 'kids' constant disagreements. 
"I guess." Elis muttered.
"Have you found happiness, Luki?" Lilly asked looking up at him as she got a plate.
Luki stopped fixing his plate. He had never thought about if he was happy before.
He smiled and looked Lilly in the eyes as he replied. "I believe I have, all of you make me quite happy."
Lilly and Elis glanced at each other before looking back at Luki.
"That was mushy but...I have to agree..sure living in the woods isn't ideal, but I'm really happy." Elis hummed.
"You know what could make this better? A Hot babe!" Cthulhu stated loudly.
"Perverted piece of rags!" Elis hissed.
"What, I'm just saying that Hot babe that Luki stalks would be nice on the eyes, compared to you wannta be women, with your flat chests!"
Luki blinked rapidly at that interaction. "C-Cthu! that's enough!" He said,
"You're a stalker?!" Lilly asked somewhat horrified.
"What?! no!"
"Oh my god, is that how you knew we were in trouble?!" Elis asked with the most innocent betrayed puppy look she could muster.
"Of course not! I can tell by that look that you don't even believe that!"
"What is he talking about then?" Lilly asked tilting her head.
"Umm...just I girl I helped once..." Luki replied running a hand through his bangs, a nervous/worry habit he rarely showed.
"Then why do you still watch her?" Elis asked.
"Just making sure shes doing alright..." Luki replied combing his hair faster.
"You know you could've just said Cthulhu was lying." Arthur stated as Luki wince mentally hitting himself for not doing that.
"How did you even know about that?" Luki asked narrowing his eyes at the boy.
Arthur shrank slightly in response to the near glare before speaking.
"I fallowed you once..Cthulhu said it would be fun.
The Lady seems nice...we should kidnap her."
"Oh that's a great idea!" the girls agreed.

"No we shouldn't!! No it is not!" Luki stated.
"Why do you not like her?" Lilly asked.
"No..it's not that..."
"Then why not?" Elis asked crossing her arms.
"It's not right to kidnap people! besides, she has a live of her own.."
"Well can't we at least visit her?" Elis asked.
"Hmm...Yeah..I guess you two can come with me to visit her.." Luki replied, he was going to go see her anyway.
"Well lets go then!!" Lilly and Elis cheered.

It wasn't long before they were packed up and ready to go, Arthur decided not to go with them as well as Maline who decided to go with Arthur.

"Its been two days now! how far is this frickin place!" Elis asked.

"We should arrive tomorrow afternoon." Luki replied.

"Awww you have to suffer another day without your girlfriend." Lilly teased.

"She's not my girlfriend." Luki muttered.

"Uh huh, that's why we're going have way a crossed the frickin planet to see her!" Elis chuckled.

"You're being dramatic, it isn't that far." Luki replied.
the girls just smiled at him set in their mindset of this being his quest for his princess.
the rest of their journey went like this, the girls got more excited and teasing, Luki got more nervous and worried.

Finally they arrived in district four, Elis decided not to go with Lilly and Luki to the cathedral, instead she went to a cemetery. 

"I've never cared much for cemeteries..." Luki sighed as he continued with Lilly?

"Why? They honor the dead." Lilly asked.

"No they honor the body the dead once inhabited...once the souls gone, its just body."

"Bu-but it shows that the person was once alive." Lilly pointed out.

"Only to strangers, the true sign that they lived, lives with their loved ones & the actions they made." Luki replied as the Cathedral came into sight.

"well if you day I'll make you a simple grave then!" Lilly said trying to spark a disapproving reaction from him.

"Oh thanks! ...but I don't intend to die for a while..." Luki replied almost apologetically.

"And you're crazy..." Lilly giggled.

Luki smirked as he stepped up to the door, his heart sunk and his body felt so heavy." uhh.."

"knock!" Lilly chirped hopping with excitement.

"Yeah..I-I know..." Luki replied yet his body made no movement.

"want me to do it?"

"No, no...I've got it." Luki replied his hand reached out slightly before stopping.
then he heard voices from inside one was Numoris.

"Please, I promise I'll work harder, I-I just can't..."

A man now spoke. "You won't get better laying around! You most pray and work! if you're faith is true and you work hard god will take notice and cure you. You are ill because you do not believe enough!"

At this man's voice Luki growled in annoyance.

"I'm s-sorry." Numori replied fallowed by a thud then the man yelled for her to pick herself up.

Lilly was about to say something but Luki throw up the doors and rushed over to Numori who was on her knees, her coloring was awful, she was clearly sick.
"Let me help." Luki said not giving her chance to reply as he helped her up.
