History: Mardonius Heidenreich came from a poverty stricken family who was forced to steal just for survival. At the age of thirteen Heidenreich's father was arrested for theft and killed. He was then elevated to head of the house and labored to bring food home to his mother and 3 younger siblings. When raiding a grave Heidenreich stumbled upon a necklace that bared a rune of unknown origin. Heidenreich kept the rune, sensing some sort of power he couldn't explain. The power of the rune became apparent when Heidenreich survived a barrage of bullets in a shootout. With this knowledge at hand, Heidenreich claimed a vast amount of wealth in a short amount of time by stealing from wealthy members of the city. However instead of wasting the money Heidenreich invested it in an education in political sciences. After graduating from school Heidenreich was offered a job in the cities defense administration. Heidenreich worked hard to scale the ranks of the administration and ultimately was seated second to the governor of the city as czar administrator, granting him the power to do anything he pleased. With his power Heidenreich made sure to please the cities people to stay in good favor, but the power of the rune still stumped him. By accessing the cities libraries he pieced together the origin and discovered the history of Rafe's Tomb and that the rune was part of the ancient magics used to keep him locked away. Obsessed with the unlimited powers of Rafe, Heidenreich created a secret organization called the Cult of Rafe and hailed himself as a prophet. With so many high officials at his disposal, the love of the cities people, and the ear of a very timid governor, Heidenreich's power was virtually absolute.
Other: Heidenreich's both strength and weakness is his rune, but getting to it is easier said than done. Heidenreich's never mentions his family history. To ensure that his origins were never discover, Heidenreich ordered his families execution.

2009-10-01 [Artsy]: Seems fine.. but having that power, Heidenreich, when discovered, would have been put in prison, or become an outlaw. To do what he did, he would have had to convince the police, convince everybody, that he hated those 'freaks' as much as everyone else. (Rafe is a freak, yes, but power is tempting in all forms to the power hungry...) Anyway, my point is, having that power, would have made him a felon, of sorts. I'll tell Aina you have a character, though, and have her check this out.

2009-10-01 [Thunder Cid]: Sounds good (also no one knew the power except him...he used is a a method to steal after he got what he needed he changed his ways to make himself look more like a "model citizen"

2009-10-01 [Artsy]: Still, they would notice bullets didn't work, and they would recognize the man who had been stealing. Doesn't matter if he told people or not. They would notice.

2009-10-01 [Thunder Cid]: You would think that thieves would run and hide, change appearance, and lay low until everything died down wouldn't you? If you play the scene in your head you can imagine being hit but the character would still run because at the time he didn't know what the rune was doing. Plus if you think about it modern day thieves do wear masks to hide their identity.
