Sir,Below is the tutorial for combat in
Motherland please review this carefully to learn the basics of combat.
First,the map:
This is were the combat will visually take place.Your squad is restricted to one square at a time, unless a secondary squad leader is part of the squad, allowing you to break the squad into seperate squares.
Your objective on the map is to either:
A)Elimenate or route all enemy forces
or
B)Gain control of all Control points on the map and to hold all checkpoints for atleast 5 turns.
To take control of a control point, you must be within the red square surrounding a control point, marked by a black dot and a title. After clearing enemy forces from a control point, the control point will fall under your control after 5 turns of holding your position there.
there are two ways to move your troops,in tactical or roleplay text.Tactical text merely displays your actions.Rolepl
ay displays your in character actions with your tactical actions in parenthesis, for immersion play in-game.
Tactical: Squad alpha=Move from A4 to A5,engage Squad Bravo with suppressing fire.
roleplay: Shadow huffed heavily as he lead Squad Alpha across the street, passing the bombed out building which served as a temporary shelter then halting behind a dumpster as he spotted the enemy squad of MEC soldiers that had been reported to be in the area just moments ago.He turned to the others and waved his hands to signal suppressing fire before turning to face the enemy as all the guns went ablaze on the enemy position (Squad alpha=Move from A4 to A5,engage Squad Bravo with suppressing fire.)
the rules of how combat is conducted is explained in the basic combat rules section.when defeated,a squad has two options, retreat or fighting to the death, depending on the severity of the situation. If a squad leader decides to retreat, they must keep moving for 10 turns before they are able to do any offensive or defensive actions.to successfully escape the battlefeild they must reach the edge of the map and choose to leave the battlefield. If the squad leader decides to stay, their squad will fight to the last man in a gamble for a costly victory.Elimenation of the Squad leader will cuase an automatic route of a squad.Higher ranked squad leaders can pass on command to another unit at death to prevent a squad route.
This is the basic knowledge of how to play Motherland.for more advanced rules read the basic rules and environment rules section, and the combat resources section.
