-Got nickname "munky" from his feet: they look like monkey's feets when they spread
-Plays 7-string before he joined the band
-Became Black Sabbath's big fan when his brother, Patrick, introduced him to heavy metal
-His index finger caught in the chain of his bike and sliced part of it off when he tried to quiet the chain as he snuck off to a late night party. The doctor suggested he take up an instrument to rehibilitate his injured finger
-He felt out of places, teachers hated him cause he had long hair but got along with them when they got to know him better. Lots of miscommunication at home, he'll steal properties to get attention from his parents. He found himself frustrated and angry as a kid
-He was there when Jon's drug and alcohol level was its height... "I wanted to help him so bad, but nothing I could say or do would make him come out of it. I'd tell him I loved him, and hold him and hug him... but it just didn't matter.". Jon appreciate what Munk did.
-Closet to Jon in the band
-Was seriouly Ill during Lollapalooza 1997 and almost had to quit from the band.
-Had a great crush on a girl during High School
-Used to go to Head's house to have lunch and save Lunch money to buy an amp
-Feels like he gets out everything he doesn't like about himself whenever he gets on stage which is why he dress up trashy on the stage
-Hurt himself badly every 6 or 7 months

-Gave up drinking during the making of Untouchables. He gets really angry when he drinks, according to Head
-Has a small studio in his house just to record any random sound that he came up with... and he enjoys it
-Never so scared in his life than playing at Woodstock 99.
-His mother, Lillian Joan Shaffer, died of cancer in 2003. Munky dedicated his work on Take a Look in the Mirror to her
-once dressed up as Niki Sixx during Halloween
