Alright.. I had a very useless list of things and stuff here, but - apart from having some kind of media to work with at all - you also simply need to feel good and comfortable with all the stuff you use. When I work on a real painting, my working space looks like this:


I don't use high quality stuff usually, because it's simply way too expensive, but I use things I can operate with. That's all you need. Feel relaxed with the media you use and don't try and push yourself to do stuff you just don't have a talent for (me and oilpastels is one of these examples for "doesn't work").
