We walked the railway tracks for about 2 miles, to survey the neighborhood. The road was completely cut off.

There was more than a foot of mud left over after some of the water receded at about 10 am.

the bridge that was covered by water in the 5th photo where my dad is coming through the water. This bridge would have survived but, about 5 feet of the road gave way.

2009-11-03 [Cillamoon]: OMG! This is incredible! You live in a gorgeous area, but damn!!! This was May of this year? WOW!

On a different note, slightly, my dad grew up in Kentucky! A lot of my dad's family lives out there. ^_^

2009-11-03 [Lothuriel]: It flooded in early May and then again two weeks later, and then pretty much small flooding almost every weekend through August. Eastern Kentucky is just like that I guess. We have lots and lots of rain. But, I have never seen it flood like this since I was around 7 or 8 years old. It was incredible.
