Daylight breaks the morning sky
Pausing time for just a moment
Thinking life too good to die
Yet to see another indent
On the handle of the door
Be careful what you wish for

The sun rising higher still
Wakes the world from deepest sleeping
Brings about a morning chill
As the feeling starts the creeping
Across backs and up the spines
A weightlessness so divine

Clouds cover the lightened day
Casting shadows past all our feet
No matter what we do or say
And yet this darkness we must meet
The truth lies in reflection
Gone unnoticed in action

Sunset beams again this night
Colors erupt from this one thing
Creatively dimming the light
Allowing little birds a ring
Against the odds we have won
No matter what has been done
