"I'm alright" Ginny lied, as she settled into the barstool to wait for her drink, back to digging through her pockets. She didn't want to inconvenience Neville with her lack of expendable income.
"You don't have to lie" Lilly chuckled, taking a seat beside her. She ordered two more trays of pastries and butter beer all around. "I'll get yours too, yeah?" She offered. Ginny shook her head.
"It's alright. I know I have some left over somewhere. You were on the quiditch team with Harry and Ron" She noted. Lilly nodded her head.
"And your Alicia's best friend. In my opinion, she's our best player." She nodded her head, sage like. Ginny laughed a bit.
"Don't tell Ron, he would be crushed." She said. She waved the bartender off when she brought her the drink, unable to locate what she had been searching for.
"You seem a bit anxious, darling" Lilly noted. "And you look shockingly like your brother when you make that face" She lightly poked Ginny on the cheek as she scowled at her lack of funds.
"Have you ever been in love?" Ginny asked her suddenly. She knew this wasn't something her and Alicia could talk about. "Like, REALLY in love?" She emphasized the word really.
"Of course!" Lilly said, turning to face Ginny "It's a grave tale of heartbreak and all that, my first love died, you see." She wiggled a finger.
"Ironic" Ginny mumbled "Mine did too, in a way."
Lilly watched Ginny's face, the way it warped into an echo of pain. A lump caught in her throat. "After we leave here, I will show you something wonderful." She said, tapping her forehead with Ginny's. Ginny was surprised by the sudden contact but felt a warmth spread through her. "Now come on, lovely, lemme' buy the drink" She insisted, throwing Galleons onto the bar. Her money seemed endless. After that she grabbed Ginny round the shoulder and half-dragged her back to the table carrying a tray of pastries each "Happy Birthday!" She shouted, for no reason in particular before leaning into Rhi "What did you do to me?" She laughed, feeling giddy.
