Somewhere at port in the Mediterranean, Captain Chava, Typharius the first mate, Demona the navigator, Xuan the smith and Reina the doctor are attacked by Commandor Zap of the Imperial ship, the Interceptor, and his soldiers. The crew wins against the soldiers, but two Imperialist ships are spotted coming towards them. Demona has some sort of disease and after the battle, she steals some of Typharius's blood for Reina in an attempt to find a cure. Typharius finds out but forgives Demona shortly after. A new crew member, Lex, comes aboard and causes a fight between he and Typharius later on. Xuan sneaks off the ship and unsure of whether he plans on coming back, Chava gives Lex Xuan's job. Chava orders the crew to head to Tortuga to follow a pact that she, Deo and Lanza had made 6 years earlier to reunite in Tortuga at this certain time.
