The first Ozzfest was in 1996 with such legends as Slayer, Danzig, Sepultura, Fear Factory, and Coal Chamber. It was criticized greatly but was a great success over all. As the years progressed, Ozzfest just kept getting better and better. It's now easily the best bargain show every year. A lot of people just stopped going to individual shows and started going to Ozzfest every year. Each city on the Ozzfest tour usually sells out with at least 19,000 people at each one. Some of the bigger venues can hold around 50,000 people, and they also usually sell out. Although Ozzy Osbourne blows everyone away every year, you can see the damage his career has given him and we all fear that his time may come really soon to stop doing concerts and retire. Hopefully his tour will still go on without him because it's something that metal fans everywhere look foreword to every year. Ozzy's wife Sharon just recovered from a horrible cancer drama, and if Ozzy retires, I'm sure everyone wishes the two of them the best.
