So far Paulo Coelho has never failed me. And he doesn't this time either. Valkyries is yet one autobiographical novel by Coelho and it deals with finding oneself and discovering one's personal demons.
Paulo and his wife travel to Mojave desert in search of the Valkyries, the women who ride motorcycles. Paulo believes that it's the only way to help him to see his guardian angel.
This novel is about love and finding one's strenght. It is told in third person which is one way to make the reader doubt the autobiographical material. Paulo's wife is also in important role as she learns much of herself in the process.
Coelho's books are not for everyone. If you don't enjoy philosophical questions and debates, or deep conversations about the world and its essence, perhaps Coelho is not for you. But in case you want something to think about, you should definitely take one book from Coelho. You won't be disappointed.
