I found out about this book when going to buy 'Howl's Moving Castle' and I saw that there were two other books in the series...

I enjoyed this book, it was a bit of fun. I have to admit that I enjoyed 'Howl's Moving Castle' more then this book, but that is the status quo of series books.

The story is about Abdullah the carpet merchant who dreams of a better life. At his birth there was a prophecy over him, but Abdullah never cared to find out what it said. One day a road wary traveler goes to Abdullah's shop and sells him a magic carpet. Sleeping on the carpet Abdullah is whisked off to what he is dreaming of (a princess that he had been dreaming of for all his life.) Not believing that it is real Abdullah tells her that he is a prince who was abducted at birth (another of his day dreams). The Princess (Flower-in-the-Night) thinks that Abdullah is a woman sense she has never seen another man other then her father. Abdullah tells Flower in the Night that he will collect portraits of all types of men. In the morning he wakes in his tent thinking it was all just a dream but is missing his night cap... Thus starts a series of events that sends Abdullah on a wild adventure.


I am not going to give any spoilers for this one or even tell you how a story of Abdullah fits into the Howl's Castle Series. Call it a bit of fun of my own.
