Above Some sort of dragon.. ~~ A shingleback lizard ~~ a Death Adder ~~ Fairy Penguins! These guys are less than a foot tall, and they're adorable!

Above A black necked stork, also known as a Jabiru ~~ Some kind of duck.. ~~ An Australian Darter ~~ And some sort of cormorant, I think..

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0253rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0254rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0256rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0259rsz.JPG>
Above Egrets, and a black necked stork ~~ And a really big croc! This photo unfortunately does nothing to convey how big he is. He's over 8 feet long and weighs over 1000kg!

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0260rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0263rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0264rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0265rsz.JPG>
Above Don't those teeth look like they could do some serious damage? Yipe! ~~ A Barramundi that was in with the corc. Nic tells me they're some of the best eating in Australia.. ~~ A spoon bill, and a green tree frog.

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0267rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0269rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0273rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0277rsz.JPG>
Above A dingo ~~ Kangaroos! ~~ And a neat little bird who's feathers I liked.

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0282rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0284rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0288rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0289rsz.JPG>
Above Rainbow Lorikeets, they're wild there. There was some at the resort at Bunker Bay, but I couldn't get any decent photos ~~ An emerald dove (I think..) ~~ More kangaroos *grins*

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0291rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0294rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0295rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0296rsz.JPG>
Above And yet more kangaroos.. *grins* I love the face on that last fellow. He looks like such an old man!

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0297rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0302rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0306rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0308rsz.JPG>
Above More roo ~~ a Boab tree ~~ Numbat! He's about the size of.. hmm, a half grown house cat.

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0309rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0311rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0312rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0313rsz.JPG>
Above Fig tree with awesome roots, and a wallaby

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0316rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0323rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0325rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0329rsz.JPG>
Above Wombat hiding.. when we first got to their enclosure, they were outside and being quite active, but I didn't get a shot fast enough, before they hid.. :o( ~~ Gorgeous Siberian tiger, who apparently was hand raised, and unfortunately as such, shows no interest in female tigers.. ~~ And a sun bear

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0331rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0333rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0335rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0338rsz.JPG>
Above I was very impressed with the sun bear enclosure in particular. All of the enclosures were awesome, actually. Lots of enrichment for the animals, and places where they could go and hide from the people and get some privacy (very very important to their mental health) ~~ Gibbons. That one is actually holding a little baby, but I could never get a clear shot of it.. ~~ And a baboon

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0345rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0347rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0348rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0364rsz.JPG>
Above Koala, and very playful otters. We watched them for probably about 15 minutes before we moved on. Fascinating little creatures.

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0365rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0373rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0375rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0376rsz.JPG>
Above Orangutans; they had a really neat setup in their enclosure too ~~ Some kind of Lemur, I believe ~~ And a pygmy marmoset. Another one I wanted to take home. He was about the size of my fist, so tiny! And so adorable..

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0379rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0382rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0384rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0385rsz.JPG>
Above Another marmoset ~~ a meerekat (SP?) ~~ A young male hyena ~~ and another meerekat

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0388rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0391rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0397rsz.JPG> <img200*0:stuff/IMG_0399rsz.JPG>
Above That same young hyena. Apparently he was the only one of his litter to survive, and there were no families for him to foster with, so he never learned the proper social skills, and they're having trouble introducing him to the rest of the mature hyenas at the zoo because he won't submit to the alpha male. ~~ The best shot we could get of the Cheetah, as it was intent on it's dinner ~~ A Sausage Tree, who's fruit is apparently quite poisonous if not prepared correctly ~~ And a very contented looking lion. I was surprised that there were two males and only one visible female in the enclosure. Makes me wonder if they're siblings.

<img200*0:stuff/IMG_0401rsz.JPG>
Above And lastly, the ghost bats. They were about the only thing I could get a photo of in the nocturnal house, which is a shame, because there were a lot of neat things, like feather tail gliders. Ah well

So, that's as much of the zoo as we managed to see before it closed for the day folks. When I go back, I'll make sure to in the morning so I can see it ALL.
