Jeesum Crowe]
Character Name: Pierpont Laude
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Appearance: Pierpont is a rather short fellow, measuring only 5' 6 1/2, and he's not a particularly thin or well-built fellow, but he's very springy and light on his feet. His hair is cut short, and looks, generally, as though it was at one point meant to be slicked down, rounding into his forehead, but at though in frustration, anger, or excitement, he's mussed it all up. He has two clear, darkly circled eyes - just naturally dark on the lids. His irises are a green-grey. His brows are not very prominent, his nose is the teeniest bit sloping, followed, in profile, by some pretty mousy lips and teeth with a gap between the two top front teeth and a bit of an overbite. His chin and jaw are strong and upheld, and he has two adorable, very deep dimples in his cheeks. He gives off, overall, the impression of being a very playful character. In dress, he wears linen dress shirts, no tie, and varied mixmatched vests and dress pants wich never seem to exactly go quite right, but manage to look very Pierpont. Over all of this he generally wears the same, worn, comfortable subtle brown houndstooth suit jacket tailored much like a double-breaste
d pea coat, and falling to the upper thigh.
Profession: Pierpont is whatever he needs to be by profession. He's not very well qualified to be anything of importance, and he has a great deal of faith in luck, so he simply goes on his way, and finds odd jobs tend to fall in his lap.
History: Pierpont was born to two loving, kind, patient, faithful, poor parents who raised him to the best of their absent-minded ability. His mother had an awful lisp, and his father had an awful stutter, so it's a wonder any of their 3 children can speak at all. His entire life has been devoted to odd jobs, so his attitude is more or less bred into him. His parents, though poor, had very optimistic dispositions. After receiving a very limited and home-granted education, he was sent with his father at the age of 10 to start helping his father perform his own odd jobs in attempts to help the family. At the age of 18, Pierpont left his home to pursue his own life, living out of his old, beat-up leather suitcase. He actually intended to find a wife, settle down and basically live the life his parents had - which he never saw anything wrong with. But he adopted from his parents a certain wandering, absent-minded, optimistic demeanor which has prevented him from staying anywhere long enough to meet a fortunate enough lady to marry him. Far from stupid, Pierpont has always been very curious and a very quick study and though his odd jobs are at times sketchy and at other times purely ridiculous, he absorbs what knowledge he can from the life he leads.
Personality: Pierpont, as mentioned above, has a curious, fairly intelligent, optimistic, occasionally absent-minded, roving, playful, springy kind of character. He is humble, knows his place, but at the same time doesn't believe doors are necessarily closed to him to be more than what he is. He allows his life to play itself out, and considers himself just along for the ride. Although these characteristics may lead one to believe he is flakey, he is actually a hard worker, and knows when to roll up his sleeves and get something done.
Appurtenances: On his person: Pierpont only has the clothes he's wearing, the sturdy shoes on his feet, his pocketwatch, spare change, identification, and a travel guide in his breast pocket.
In his suitcase: 2 pairs of slacks, 2 clean shirts, 2 vests, a couple changes of underwear, changes of socks, an umbrella, a hat, a picture of his family, a toiletry kit (with shaving gear, toothbrush, nail clippers, &c.), and an Emergency Can of Sardines - in case he's ever starving to death.
Other Fascinating Information: He's English.
