Drakendard 2

Drakengard 2 Action. Playstation 2. 9/10: Just like its predecessor, Drakengard 2 offers much more than the average gamer might expect. the storyline is set somewhere around 10-15 years after the events of Drakengard but, lo and behold, the world is almost worse off than you left it. Of course, new stories call for new heroes, and in this game you play the somewhat naive, but good hearted young lad named  and his dragon  . Your job is, of course, save the world! Get as many weapons as possible, and pick up a few new friends along the way.
Drakengard 2 is basically the same as the first for gameplay, just with different weapons, magics, levels, and, of course, characters. The plus is that the extra characters you pick up are now more useful! They each get their own sets of weapons and you actually play as them for reasonable amounts of time. You still level up your weapons, and your dragon, and have a good old heartfelt time doing it.
Of course, the problems still lie in that you have no happy characters, and the only endings I've seen haven't been all that cheerful either. It'd be depressing if they weren't so fun to play.
So, as with the last, go ahead and try it out. It'll be fun.
