Love and war
All is said to be fair
Fair in love and war
But not in my life
Nothing is fair anymore
A place in my heart
Sitting empty and all alone
Left alone to fend
All on its own
Battles won
But most are lost
Why should we fight
If love is the cost
Shells of a former love
Living within dreams
Life isn't glamorous
Not as much so as it seems
So is all fair
In this game of love and war
If no one finds it to be fair
In that game anymore

Shame
If I let you past
The barriers I've built
But then you tore me down
The way you did those walls
If I let you in
And past all my defenses
Would you let me down
And hurt me all the same
Would you tell me
The same as all the rest
That you loved me
And how much you care
In a simple lie
In the time that you were there
So as you push me into the dirt
And rub my face around
You can continue to roam
And do this to another
So my barriers are up
Rebuilt and defended
And your lies are respread
To those of the weak
I bid good night
To your sad soul
And you can go on
To let down another
