RDM RP Page #20

Zhenjai curled in closer to Erador, most of the confusion of her thoughts subsiding as his blanket-like wing rested over her. Warmth ran through her body, and she made a happy prruming sound toward the fatherly dragon guarding her. Zhenjai relaxed enough to fall into a slight sleep...

The battle was before him. A flash of red scales flew out from the fire filled sky. The red dragon circled the heights above as the bronze dragon flew down. The man on it's back jumping off, and running towards him. A flash of silver scales   hit the man in the shin, breaking his bone. Flying hatchling feet...his own, lashed out in front of him, turning, dashing to the damp crevices of the cave. Too late. Darkness. A terrible scream from a dragon sounded in Zhenjai's mind - the cry for help.

A flash of silver scales and darkness never stopped. This intruder in her mind never let her rest. It faded her thoughts, made her dizzy-made her angry. She roared, trying to break free from the chains. They sawed at his body, and she felt his blood running down. There was blood everywhere - a crimson pool lay where the ground should have been. She saw his reflection - Sliver with pained blue eyes staring back at her. A spear was twisted into his haunch. Bright pain of the venom tipped spear brought the fire back up in her, though it faded in his life. His longing for the freedom gave her strength. The chains rattled and screams sounded. She breathed fire and closed her nostrils against the reek of burning flesh. Her mind and fury exploded at once. None should survive - the chains broke, rusted away by the dragon's blood. his vision turned red. The sky filled red blood darkened the ground. Men tried to stop his attack, only to be crushed on the ground. A moment later, as the fury drained, and the red faded from vision. The ground was stained with dragon blood and the blood of the dead. No one has survived-the pain sounded like a horn through his body. He could only collapse as he had been freed and his plea heard. "Not much time" an unfamiliar male dragon's voice echoed in her mind...

Erador and Erindor as well felt the telepathic buzz in the back of their minds. Erindor dismissed it as one of Zhenjai's siblings talking with her, Erador however recognized a certain foreign resonance to the echo of the mindspeech. "Zhenjai?" Erador queried gently, "talking with one of your siblings?"

Zhenjai felt Erador's mindspeach and brought back enough conciseness to relay the sliver scales.

As soon as he made sense of the mental image, Erador looked to Zhenjai in earnest, "Zhenjai, is there any more?"

Her entire memory of the event flooded it's story into Erador's mind, although the Silver One let only Erador's mind hear his plea.

Erador became livid, his eyes wide and pupils dialated. Erindor reacted in the same manner for the simple reason they were so connected. "Well, that complicates things...there's only two of us," Erador observed in conversation between Zhenjai and Erindor.

"Marthril, Theria...we shall go now, to tarry would be depriving a certain draconian induvidual proper attention. Zhenjai and Erador have picked up on a mental distress call...we shall intercept en route to the Shadow Castle...aye?" Erindor said, climbing up onto Erador's shoulders, strapping himself into the saddle. "Fly alongside us Zhenjai, Theria...climb aboard," he said from above.

Theria nodded with a certain fear. She wasn't sure what to do...she was still affraid of hieghts.

Erindor blinked, "'Tis alright dear, on Erador its like flying on a small hill. Your legs will be secured too," he added, motioning to the straps for the second seat.

"Need help up?" Erador offered, swinging his head close to Theria.

Theria shivered. yes...

"Its alright sweetie, I'll be gentle," Erador crooned, giving her a nuzzle before drying his mouth. The dragon opened his maw and turned it sideways, having Theria fall into the front of his mouth and carried her to the back of the saddle. "Climb aboard," he said, waiting for her to leave his maw and strap in.

Swiftly, Theria got out and strapped herself into the saddle. Closing her eyes, she bowed her head, hoping she would not see how far below the ground would be when Erador might take to the skies... even thought they were still on ground. "Thank...you..."

"Ridden before?" Erindor asked Theria curiously, turning part way to see her slightly stricken form.

Theria nodded. "Except I was on Ar'rias..." she said," but I guess... I could get used to Erador..."

"No worries there my dear Theria, Erador tames the sky," Erindor replied, rubbing Erador's scales at the dragon's shoulders.

"Come Zhenjai," Erador beckoned, standing smoothly and folded his wingns at his sides. "First, the silver one..." he said, watching the little one, waiting for her to rise as well.

Theria at last broke into a smile.

"Watch, Theria..." Erador said, extending his wings as far as the walls would allow. Erindor's emerald wing membranes were tanslucent, but not transparent, and ran from his shoulders to his flanks...a view of the ground straight below them would not be possible. "Can you see the ground when I do this?"

Theria opened her eyes. "Ugh uh...no... hehe..." She decided to look at Erador's wings and was filled with bliss. "Your wings are lovely!"

"Why thank you," Erador replied, folding his wings upon completion of the demonstration.

Erindor looked over to Zhenjai, then checked his leg straps and Theria's. "Don't be shy to lock your arms around my abdomen on takeoff and landing...we shouldn't be encountering anything worse than low grade turbulance."

You're welcome! "Okay... Are we leaving soon?" Theria smiled brightly.

Zhenjai was at Erador's side in an instant, though the silver one's calls still echoed in her head.

"Zhenjai, take off first, I will need just a few moments of time to get into the air," Erador said to her, looking from her to the infirmary doors.

Wind and dust swirls under Zhenjai's wings as she beats them and rose up into the air, now hovering on an up draft.

"Hang tight," Erin advised Theria, taking her hands gingerly and wrapped them around his belly so her hands met. He crouched low, grabbing bracing handles on the saddle as Erador broke out into a a gallop. The dragon's gait was powerful and smooth, heavy footfalls shaking the infirmary before he catapulted into the air, wings snapping open as they gained altitude with a few easy beats.

"That wasn't so bad, eh?" Erador said to mostly Theria, but Erindor as well.

"Not bad atall," Erin replied, slipping a black, form fitted leather face mask over his head.
