The stars glistened in the midnight blue, the moon shone high in the sky, like a grey candle in the night. The palace stood, rebuilt, reflecting the light from the moon. The city of Antheaon lay silent, sleeping in the warm night. All was peaceful, the idylic setting not ruined, simply perfect.
From one of the windows in the palace their hung a rope of sheets, a rather short figure slid down it, landing on the ground silently. Looking about herself she ran to the wall, climbing over it effortlessly like she had done so many times before. When she reached the top she looked back at the palace before leaping off it into the almost deserted streets.
{~}
In the night a shadow watched the girl, it was perched on a tree not far away. Blue eys followed her shadoy figure that he had yet to make out properlly. He knew nothing of this Chimsay, he hardly ever did about his targets. He slowly leapt from tree to tree following her every move without making a sound.
{~}
Chimes swept through the winding streets quickly, hoping that no one in the Palace would check on her during the night. Walking through the cobbled streets, she looked into the darkened shop windows with a smile on her face. Her she always enjoyed her midnight escapes. Hopefully she would make it out of the city gates this time.
(~)
Caden leapt from rooft to roof following her every move, he needed her to go somehwere more isoalted, it would be dangerous to atempt it here even at night.
{~}
Famed for her use of shortcuts, Chimes slipped down a back alley hoping none of the people roaming the streets saw her face, they would surely recognise her if they did, then she would be forced to go back to the palace. Again. this was one of the few chances she got to look for her brother, she wasnt just going to let it go.
(~)
Caden lept onto the roof near to Chimes, he scaled a pipe that lead diurectly above her, he looked down trying to judge her. She was around 5'4 and looked like a normal size, she probably wasn't much of a hand to hand fighter. He wondered what she had done to cause herself to be watend dead.
{~}
Chimes was humming slightly, though she had no idea what the tune was, it was one she'd never heard before. She was looking ahead of her, deciding on which turning to take.
{~}
Caden stopped just above her, he looked down, once she got out the castle walls he would strike.
{~}
Chimes ran forward remembering something one of the mages showed her a while ago, she placed her fingers on the wall and said something in a strange language, stepping backwards a opening appeared, she walked through the wall and smiled looking up at the sky happily.
{~}
Caden with ease lept ontop of the wall, he stared down at her, it wouldnt be much longer now. He raised his hand at the ready, finger ready to flick the blade out at any given point.
{~}
Chimes walked slowly, admiring her surroundings, now she had passed through the wall she wasnt sure where she should go. She had no leads on her brother but she refused to just sit and do nothing. Though it would be hard and like searching for a needle in a haystack she was just going to try and search for him, in which ever towns she came across.
{~}
Caden slipped the blade out and with a click it snapped into place between his two fingers. He jumped down towards chimes his fist balled so only the blade was out, his hit was direct for her neck.
{~}
Chimes heard the click and spun around, her hood falling, revealing her face, her eyes widened and her mouth was poised to scream.
{~}
Caden's eyes widened slightly as the hood fell down to reveal a much younger person than he expected, he skidded to a hault a mearmetre infront of her, hand postining the the side bent inwards, the dagger a few cm's from her neck.
{~}
The scream that she was holding never came, in its place was a gasp. Her eyes were even wider than before as they flickered from the blade to Caden and back again. She was almost too scared to move, almost. She took a step backwards getting away from the dagger.
{~}
Caden retracted the dagger into it band, he stood still just staring at Chimes. He hadn't been told his target was an assassin, and such an innocent one at that. By the look on her face she had no idea what was going on.
{~}
She stood blinking, looking at him. a look of confusion and slight hurt across her face, he was going to kill her, but why? She didnt remember doing anything that deserved her death, except maybe surviving, she frowned slightly surpressing the painful memories once again. she started backing away from him.
{~}
"You are Chimesay, yes"? Caden finally spoke, his voice was smooth and mono toned yet it wasn't threatining, it was infact quite calm.
{~}
"...Yes..." She wasnt surprised he knew her name, she hated the fact that she was so well known, but that was what came from being royalty. Sometimes it was a burden. She looked him up and down, not trusting the man who had just tried to kill her.
{~}
Caden just looked at her, blue eyes could be seen visible from his cloak. He looked aorund too see if she had been followed by any of the gaurds.
{~}
She looked thoughtful for a second, entwining her fingers infront of her, frowning slightly. The sixteen year old was contemplating his motives, so far she couldnt think of any, she almost wanted to ask him, but couldnt bring herself to do it. She is was only half sure whether she wanted to know or not.
{~}
"Why does he want you dead". He looked at her as if she knew the reason. He could hardly think of a reasonably explaination as to why a man would want to kill a young girl.
{~}
"He? He who?" She tilted her head slightly, hearing slight murmurs of shouting coming from the palace, they had noticed her absence. She sighed slightly.
{~}
"I'm afraid i do not know the answer to that Chimesay but what i do know is that i was hired to kill you under faulse information". Caden bowed his head slightly. "I apoligise".
{~}
"Hm... Well I suppose thats not your fault.... could you kindly escort me back to the palace, I fear they are getting restless." Chimes smiled slightly, she could hear the yelling clearer now, she could hear things like: 'Where is the Princess?!'; 'The Princess is gone!'; 'Where is she?'; 'Find Her!'
{~}
"Of course". caden turned to the side and waited for her to pas him so he could walk next to her.
{~}
She started walking but stopped at the wall, "Hmm, I've heard the charm only works one way... over we go." She was more talking to herself than to Caden as she leapt up gripping the wall and climbing over it.
{~}
Caden jumped over and landed softly before Chimes, he looked at her waiting for her to come down. He didn't exactly know what the guards would think of him.
{~}
She gracefully jumped down, landing perfectly she smiled at him before walking back to the palace.
"PRINCESS!! What were you doing outside at this time... and alone??... Who may I ask is this?" A rather portly looking advisor was walking up to them two guards at his sides.
"I was not alone... Lord Banthor... And this... is my new... Bodyguard." She smiled, glancing up at Caden appologetically.
{~}
Caden raised a hand slightly in a weird sort of greeting manner, he then let it drop. He stared at Banthor and the gaurds.
{~}
"When was this decided? I do not remember being informed..." Lord Banthor narrowed his eyes.
"I decided, and when... is confidential. Now if you please its getting cold out, I would like to return to my room. Goodnight." She made a small courtsy before walking passed him through the palace gardens and into the palace.
{~}
Caden folloed Chimes giving Banthor an intimidating look.
{~}
When they were out of Banthors hearing range Chimes started laughing, "Oh my god! I've always wanted to do that!!" She seemed geniuinnely happy about standing up to one of her advisors, she'd never done it before and she had to say: it felt good.
{~}
"Bodyguard..". Caden looked at Chimes, he was confused, a few munets ago he had just tried to kill her, how could she trust him let alone hire him within such a sort space of time.
{~}
"...Yeah about that... The position is open if you want it. But you can decline if you dont want to be my bodyguard." She smiled, walking through the halls until they came across a grand staircase.
{~}
Caden just stared at her. "No, i see it as a way to make up for the mishap earlier". He bowed slightly looking around the corridoors, he glanced up the stair case.
{~}
She shrugged slightly, "Fair enough... Though its water under the bridge now." She smiled once again, suddenly raising her eyebrow at the advisor that was coming towards them at an alarmingly fast pace.
{~}
Caden's eyes flicked like that of an eagles, he spun around, grabbing the poor man by the neck, flinging him into the wall holding him about 2 metres off the ground. This had all happened in a matter of secounds. Caden's arm was outstretched, the blade digging into the mans jugular neck but not enough to draw blood.
{~}
The advisor was speechless, dangling against the wall with unmatchable fear in his eyes.
"Put the nice man down... He may be annoying but he isnt likely to hurt anyone..." Chimes was rather calm it seemed. Her eyebrow was still raised slightly as she looked at Caden.
{~}
Caden dropped the man to his feet, he flicked the knife back inwards with a click and turned around walking towards the stair case. He looked up as if expecting someone to be there, there wasn't.
{~}
The advisor slouched off muttering words like 'menace'.
Chimes walked up the stair case, three doors met them, she walked over to the door to the right and the openers opened it for her, openers stood by every door to the palace. She walked through coming into another hallway.
{~}
Caden followed, eyeing the openers slighty, he didnt know whether this girl was just spoilt or what?
{~}
She turned her head, noticing his look, "They are customary. The advisors insist." She carried on walking until she got to the only door without openers, she opened the door and walked into her suite, this was her private space. She waited for Caden to enter before closing the door.
{~}
Caden walked in, he looked around slightly inspecting the room for any windows and other doors.
{~}
Chimes watched him for a second before walking out to the balcony, she often sat out there watching the stars.
{~}
Caden leant by the door leading to the balcony."Why did you run away". It was an honest question.
{~}
She sighed slightly, "To find my brother... " She did not want to leave her duty but the need to find her brother gripped her more than the need to stay. She would have came back, after she found him of course, true she didnt trust some of the advisors but she was sure they would do a good enough job while she was away.
{~}
"I see". Caden looked up at the moon, the light bounced off his face slightly and for the first time part of his face could be seen. His skin was a normal if not slightly tanned colour, he was obviously from somehwere hot. His eyes were a dull blue, he features were considerably handsome.
{~}
Chimes looked over at him, studying his form for the first time since they met. She smiled slightly, he looked like a nice person and certainly seemed like one so far, despite trying to kill her earlier that night.
{~}
Caden looked over at her."Why are you not out serching for him right now". He wondered why she was here and hadn't continued looking. It must be hard, being without family with such a young age, in some ways he emphasised with her. He knew how it felt to be alone.
{~}
"...Because they noticed I had gone... and by the time I got to the city gates the guards would be there." She folded her arms on the Balcony wall and rested her chin on them, seating herself in a chair.
{~}
"Then, if i am not mistaken, couldn't you just order them to let you go and leave your city in charge of someone else in your absence". Caden looked at her with a raised eyebrow, wasn't it in her power to do that.
{~}
"Well I could... but then I could be called reckless and have my crown taken from me... and there are some... not so trustworthy people in the council of advisors.... I do not want the fate of my people in hands that I do not trust." She seemed very grownup when she said this, it was clear that she loved her people. She sighed slightly.
{~}
"Then, i guess you will have to wait for either your brother to return or you to find out where he is". Caden leaned back once againstr, his voice drowned off to the end of the sentence.
{~}
"Both highly improbable." She said as she slowly walked into her room, she walked over to a door which was barely visible, walking inside the small room filled with her special things, no one other than her normally came in her room so Caden was the first person to see this certain room.
{~}
Caden looked in the small room, he didnt walk through the door he only looked on. He looked down, if it was him, he would serch the world over, but he didnt know what it was like to have to manage a city so he decided against talking.
{~}
Chimes was taking out a bundle of papers, she accidentally knocked into a shelf, making one of her many music boxes start playing its tune. She walked out putting the papers on the floor, leaving the door of the small room open. "This is all the information I've been able to gather. The Advisors do not approve of my searching, they would burn this if they knew it was here. They believe that I must put my duty before EVERYTHING."
{~}
Caden looked at the papers, he knew inside that he could probably help track him for her, it was his job after all to collect information and hunt people down. He looked at Chimes and then to the music box, the sound was soothing, reminded him somewhat of his own locket which only he had ever heard.
{~}
She sighed slightly, "He was taken during the massacre, the creatures or beings that took him covered their tracks. I dont really remember that much of that day, I never saw them take him, but I know he isnt dead, the fact that his body wasnt there shows he isnt dead..." She had a frown set on her features as she sifted through the papers.
{~}
"You have no clue as to what these beings were"? Caden looked at her, it must be hard to run a kingdom at such a young age.
{~}
"I'm not sure... they reminded me of Goblins, but thats not what they were... I know there was a dark figure... but I may have imagined that..." She closed her eyes as she spoke, as if recalling the memories.
{~}
Caden wondered if the man who had hired him to kill her had anything to do with it, it would make sense, the pieces fitted together. However he choose not to say anything, knowing someone wanted you dead wasn't a nice thing.
{~}
She pulled out a certain piece of paper, it had a picture of a ten year old boy on it, it was unclear whether it was a photo or a painting, "He would be 18 now." She looked up with a sense of determination on her face, "Hmmm..." She had never thought to try this before, but maybe if she could tune into her brothers Song of Memory, then maybe she could hear some sort of clue as to his whereabouts.
{~}
Caden was just leaning against the door frame, he didnt say anything so as not to interfear with her current train of thought. The look on her face made him think she had a plan.
{~}
Chimes closed her eyes, concentrating with all her might, however it seemed there was another song trying to get her attention much more potent than that of her brothers, it was a sensation she could ignore, like it was calling to her. She realised the only way she would be able to have any hope of finding her brothers Song would be to see what this one entailed first. She started humming a tune, it was not familiar to her, she knew that much.
{~}
Caden stiffened up slightly, he looked at CHimes with a strange sort of grim stare. "How do you know that"? Hiw words while very serious were not threatining at all.
{~}
"Its yours? So thats why its so resonant..." She opened her eyes and looked at him, she felt slightly guilty, sometimes she did not like her power, it was like prying into someones secrets.
{~}
Caden didnt say anything, he simply looked away glancigng at the picture of her brother when he was younger.
{~}
"I'm sorry." She looked at him sincerely, the looked towards the floor.
{~}
Caden just looked at the papers more."It doesn't matter". He picked up the picture staring at it.
{~}
She closed her eyes once more, the task seemed impossible, there were so many different songs, it was hard to pin point just one, and she may not even know whether it was the right one. She held a concentrated look on her face.
{~}
Caden dropped the papaer and walked back over to the balcony door. He breathed in the air and sighed looking at the city below.
{~}
Chimes could not concentrate, mainly because of the light source, she walked over to every candle blowing out the natural orange flames and replacing them with her own blue ones before sitting down and trying again. After a few moments she made a loud gasping breath.
{~}
Caden looked at her, he wondered what she was doing but choose not to pry.
{~}
She opened her eyes looking geuinnely terrified, she looked up at him. She had glimsed someones future, and she did not like what she saw; it scared her to no end.
{~}
"Whats wrong". Caden's eyes slanted slightly as he stared down at her.
{~}
"Someone is going to attack... I dont know why or how... or who or when... I just know...I saw it.." She was staring at the floor now, she did not know what to do, she had never had any form of conflict between her people and anyone else, but it seemed that someone or something somewhere wanted to hurt her people, hurt her.
{~}
"Then, maybe you should warn your people, highten the amount of gaurds". Caden didn'tfear an attack, but then again Chimes had so much to lose.
{~}
"...I've never done this before... " She bit her lip slightly, not sure how to go about doing what he suggested, she looked out at the sky, it was the early hours of the morning, the advisors would not yet be awake.
{~}
Caden just closed his eyes and rested his head against the frame of the door once again. His mind was thinking through what had happened putting the pieces together. The man who hired him would expect Chimes to be dead know, maybe that what would cause the attack. If the thought the queen was dead then obviously they city would be in a state of weakness.
{~}
Chimes closed her eyes again, hoping to hear more of this unfortunate future, maybe a way to stop it. Or just some more information. Her face was concentrated, her mind was not wandering; dead set on its task. She let out a sigh of frustration when nothing would come.
{~}
"Maybe if you rest it will come to you in your dreams". Caden spoke quietly from the door way.
{~}
She looked over to him and nodded, she hadnt noticed that she was tired, it crept up on her like a fog. She went into a small room to change, coming out in a white night dress, the feather and chain still around her wrist and the choker and necklace still hanging from her neck. She sat on her bed looking at him for a second, "Would you like to sleep on the bed? I can use the sofa..." She looked over at a large sofa leant against the opposite wall.
{~}
"I do not need to sleep, i am fine". Caden walked out onto the balcony closing the doors behind him. He leapt up onto the balcony railing and perched there like it was nothing to him. He looked up at the moon i awe, he didnt move from this position.
{~}
She raised her eyebrows and blinked at him for a few seconds. Climbing into bed, she rested her head on the pillow and almost amedietly sleep took her.
{~}
Caden watched the sun, he waited for it to rise, dawning a new day, a new life for him.
{~}
Chimes tossed and turned in her bed, her mind muddled with some many songs, so many lyrical meanings, it was like her power was in over drive. She new if she did not calm herself she could end up setting the room on fire. She knew she was dreaming, she just hoped her dream kept her calm enough to keep her other power in check.
{~}
Caden opened his eyes, gods knew when he had closed them and drifted into a somewhat dazey sleep. He was still perched on the balcony railing, just at the end with his back to the wall. He stared at the sun in the sky, his hood shaded his face.
{~}
Chimes woke up to, thankfully, unsinged sheets. She sat up stretching slightly, sifting through what she could remember of her dream.
{~}
Caden leant forwards resting his head on his palm, he flicked the blade in and out, a sign of obvious boredome. He couldn't help but feel a ping of uneasyness, he had failed a mission, spared a target, something he had never sone before.
{~}
Chimes stood walking over to the double doors leading to the balcony, opening them quietly, "Good Morning..."
{~}
"Maybe..". Caden didn't turn to Chimes, he was staring outwards to the sky, a look of distatse on his face. It looks as if he didn't like the sun, or was just put off by the blinding light almost shinning in his eyes.
{~}
Chimes was now wearing one of her more normal outfits, she looked up at the sky, "Pretty.." She turned her head as she heard a impatient knocking coming from her door. She walked over answering it, "Yes?"
"Your majesty, the council said they do not require your presence today." The messenger courtsied, Chimes let a frown fall onto her features never before had they requested her absense in one of the meetings.
{~}
Cadens keen hearing allowed him to lsiten to the conversation, thought it wasn't very intersting Chimes's body langauge seemed to dipict something aloof.
{~}
"Why?"
"I dont know m'lady, one of the seers requested it."
Chimes frowned again but gave the messenger and indication that she could leave. Chimes was muttering to herself, still frowning.
{~}
Caden glanced at her, then turned back to the sky, he wondered what there was to do around here.
{~}
Chimes walked over to him, "What would you say if I was to ask you to help me spy on a important council meeting?" She grinned slightly.
{~}
Caden glanced at her."Are you sure thats wise, if they caught you, what would they do"? He raised an eyeborw.
{~}
"That is a good question actually... I dont know. But I dont understand why I am not allowed in this meeting.. they cant do anything without my consent anyway so why would they want to cut me out of the proceedings?" She was frowning and thinking deeply as she said this.
{~}
"How about, we go for a walk". Caden looked out over the city, he wasnted to get mvoing again. He was never usualy so still for such a long time.
Benoni ran through the city looking from shop window to shop window, he was very excited. A couple smiled at him as they pass, he walked over to a stall and stared at soime stuff.
{~}
"Huh? Oh... sure." She walked, backing into her room, closing the secret door then walking out of the main entrance, waiting for Caden outside.
{~}
Caden followed her, he sheilded his eyes with his hand and stared down the street."So, is there anywhere nice around here, maybe with a view of the stars at night". His voice drained off to the end of the sentence like just talking about it made him feel at ease.
Benoni knocked over a part of the stand, he paniked and ran towards the grave yard. The stall owner chased after him, within good reason mind. you. "BLOOD KID GET BACK HERE"! Benoni stopped and turned around."I'm sorry i..i..". He didnt have time to finish his sentence before the man was promptly sliced down the middle by something invisible.
{~}
"Well there are a lot of nice places here, there are many gardens and the grave yard is very serene, a serene sadness almost. I spend a lot of my time there... my parents.." She didnt finish the sentence, hoping that he would understand.
{~}
"I see". Caden didn't ask any more questions, he started walking down the street.
Benoni sort of flopped to the floor croushing under a tree, he could here a few people talking and pointing over.
{~}
She led him down the streets, the cloak she had picked up on the way out draped around her shoulders. A small smile placed on her lips she was absorbing the scenery as she walked, almost in a day-dream.
{~}
Caden walked after her, there was soemthing strange in the air, he couldnt put his finger on it so he choose to ignor it.
A few people, two woman and a man walked down."Hello..is anyone". Benoni freaked. The womans head sliced clean off, the mans body was severed in half one half falling one the the other falling the other. The other woman went to scream but her thorat seemingly expldoed outwards, she crumbled to the floor her body sliding over a tombstone. It stayed there, blood watering into the grass.
{~}
The guards had been alerted some how, they always seemed to know when something was going badly, no one knew how, it was a mystery. Six guards rushed past Chimes, swiftly knocking her over as they did so.
"Ugh... what the..."
{~}
Caden watched the gaurds run off, he held his hand out to Chimes to help her up."Are you alright"?
Benoni began to panik, there were splatters of blood al over his face. He began to cry covering his eyes with his hands, he didnt know what was going on. He thought maybe there was some invisibly monster or something.
{~}
"Yeah I'm fine." She took his hand getting up and brushing herself off, "Come on we'd better follow, it looks like they are going to the grave yard anyway." She continued walking down the winding streets.
The guards ran into the grave yard, fierce looks on their faces.
{~}
Caden nodded and followed her."Do you often get knocked over like that". He smiled at her slightly, this had been the first time hed smiled in a while, though it was just a faint one.
Benoni didnt look up, he didnt want to see the bodies and the blood, even though it pooled around him and was splattered over him from head to toe. He continued to cry into his hands.
{~}
"No. Usually I am just bowed at," She pulled a weird expression at the word bowed, "Being knocked over is a first actually, fallinging over... now that is a different story." She continued walking they were nearing the gates of the grave yard, she scrunched up her nose when a weird, salty, coppery smell drifted about her consciousness.
{~}
"Blood". Caden's eyes slanted slightly, i smell blood, its from that direction". Caden pointed towards the graveyard.
Benoni looked at the gaurds, he paniked as his vectors began to rip them apart as well.
{~}
Chimes' eyes widened slightly, she rand into the grave yard, stopping dead nin her tracks when she saw the mass of blood and destruction that lay before, bodies strewn all over the place, what looked like almost a lake of blood and the smell, a smell that she recognised from the massacre, the smell of fresh death.
{~}
Cadens eyes slanted, he looked around, other people were coming over but he told them to go, the killer could stillbe here. "Chimes, is this sort of, action normal around here"?
Benoni whimpered slightly, he had moved and was hidden behind a gravestone, knees tucked into his stomach head in hands crying.
{~}
"No..." Chimes looked around this certain area of the once beautiful grave yard was now desolate.
{~}
"Someones crying". Caden looked around."Someone survived i beleive, maybe they know who did this"? He looked at Chimes, he walked into the graveyard stepping through the blood without a care.
Benoni heard footsteps, he peeked out from behind the gravestone and saw Caden and Chimes. At first he was a bit scared but then he saw Chimes, she looked nice, thus his vectors remained calm and didnt attack.
{~}
Chimes stepped, light-footed, managing to dodge all the blood. She shook her head slightly then turned to Benoni, crouching at his side, "Hey... are you alright?"
{~}
Caden was examinging the bodies, tyhe cuts were weird, it was as if they were sliced in half by something very sharp and very powerful.
Benoni had covered his face with his hands, he looked, teary eyed up at Chimes, blood splattered over his face. "Are they all dead"?
{~}
Chimes nodded, a grim look on her face, "Do you... do you know what did this?"
{~}
Caden looked at the bodies, it was strange, he looked at the guards as well. They had only arrived a few mineuts after them and they had already been slaine. He wondered who or what did this.
Benoni shook his head trying to stop crying.
{~}
"Come on, I'll take you somewhere safe." She stood up holding out a hand to Benoni, "Caden...any Ideas as to what did this?"
{~}
Caden whipped some of the blood off the tombstone with his hand, he rubbed it about with his fingers."Whatever it was, it was strong and quick, most of these bodies suffered a one hit kill".
Benoni stood up, he tried to whipe some of the blood off his face but just ended up smudging it more.
{~}
"Hm." She frowned, she then looked down at Benoni, "Lets go get you cleaned up." She held a soft smile as she led him out of the grave yard.
{~}
Caden followed, he glanced back once more at the graveyard, he doubted it would belong before another act like this happened.
Benoni reached up and clapsed CHime's hand in his own, he smiled slightly while walking.
{~}
Chimes walked to the palace, not letting go of Benoni's hand, she led him up to her room's private bathroom, "You can clean yourself up in there, I'll get you some new clothes.." She walked into her brothers old room, she sighed slightly before pulling out some of his old clothes and taking them back to her room.
{~}
Caden waited in the doorway, doorways seemed to be his thing for some strange reason.
Benoni washed the blood off his face and arms.
{~}
She walked over to Benoni holding out the clothes, "Here." She smiled down at him, the clothes would fit, no doubt. She looked over at Caden, eyebrow slightly raised.
{~}
Caden looked back at her, he then looked at Benoni, his mind was still on what had happened a few mineuts ago. He wished he knew what had done it, not knowing things seriously annoyed him.
Benoni put the clothes on, he smiled tugging at them.
{~}
"You look like a prince." Chimes smiled. She then turned to Caden, "Things like this dont generally happen here... Its strange."
{~}
"Yes but im sure we will knopw in good time". Caden clehcned his fists cracking his knuckles as if they felt stiff or something.
Benoni just smiled looking around.
{~}
"I say we pay a little visit to that meeting I'm not supposed to go to, the people are more important than anything they could be talking about." Chimes looked determined before marching out of the door.
{~}
Caden followed, he looked at Benoni who was too busy playing with a pillow to follow them. caden was by Chimes, he wondered how often she was locked out of meetings like this.
Mr.Hydea crossed his arms, usual scowl evident on his face, he stared around the room at the other people in the meeting, awating for another of them to talk.
{~}
The doors swung open and Chimes walked in, her posture was one of grace and poise, exactly what you would expect from royalty, she had know entered her 'zone', a time at which she acted older than her years and much like her parents.
"Y-your majesty, we do not need you in the meeting today, didnt someone tell you?" One of the advisors stuttered out.
(~)
Caden walked in, though he was quiet and stayed in the corner, alert and ready. he glanced around the room scanning the figures.
Mr.Hyde's eyes snapped to Chimes, the bore into her as he tensed slightly, what was she doing here.
{~}
"While you were all sat here, some of our people were dying. We do not know the cause, but I expect you to do your upmost to find out, as I will. I'm sure whatever you were doing here can wait. The people must come first. Always." Chimes stood waiting for someone to speak against her, as she knew they would.
"You cannot just stop the proceedings..." Another advisor spoke up.
{~}
Mr.Hyde sat up, he got up off his chair and looked like he was going to leave."Since the matter of our discussion has been changed i assume i am not needed". Mr.Hyde instantly assumed that since Chimes wanted to handle another matter it would be done, he saw her as the spoilt brat type.
{~}
"Well that all depends Mr. Hyde? Is it? Whether you would be able to help with this problem we seem to be facing." Chimes looked at him, awaiting his reply.
{~}
"People dying, now what makes you think i would have any idea hoiw to help with a situation like that"> He glanced coldly at Chimes.
Caden frowned, he didnt like this man already.
{~}
Chimes kept her composure, "You are well travelled maybe you have seen something such as this before, and thus can help us find out who or what the culprit is."
{~}
"I don;t have as much time as you royals do, so spit out whatever it is and i'll help in any way i can". Mr.Hyde crossed his arms, while his choice of words were rude he had accepted the offer to help them.
{~}
"The people were slaughtered within minutes, ripped to pieces. What ever did it was gone soon after. Leaving a pool of blood and a trail of devastation behind it. Only one was left alive." Chimes looked up at him.
{~}
Mr.Hyde crossed his arms, unfazed by what she had just said and seemingly uncaring about the fact epople had died."Sounds simlare to a case of murders that have been happening in towns near here, the killed has never been seen so i can't help you".
{~}
"You have helped, slightly." She turned to her advisors, "Send some of the guards to investigate the neighboring towns. Inform me of any leads or information. Good day to you." She then looked at Caden and walked out of the door.
{~}
Mr.Hyde simply looked aside, out the window, he detested this place.
Caden followed Chimes.
{~}
"Well they were a boat load of help... some advisors they are..." Chimes was no longer in her happy go lucky mood. It had since diminished.
{~}
"What about that man that informed us about the simliar murders near by, i didn't notice a present like him in the castle last night". This was a strange statment since it meaned that while Chimes was alseep Caden had wondered around susing out where everyone slept and who they were, he certainly was a very good body guard.
{~}
"You suspect him?" Chimes looked up at Caden with interest.
