Family:
Father: Demon. Inu no Taishou was a very powerful dog-demon who is about twice (or more than twice) the size that Sesshy is in demon form. His fangs were used to make powerful swords like the Tetsusaiga and the Tensaiga. Inu no Taishou is also Inu's father.
Mother: I'm not sure but I am led to believe that she is a demon as well.
Siblings: His half-brother Inuyasha is a half demon (hanyou) and is the star of the anime.

Name Meaning: "Sessho" means "cruel" while "maru" is a suffix for masculine names. "Sesshoumaru" however, literally means "killing blade" or "the killing perfection" . However way you look at it, it still has the word kill in there somewhere.
