She Who Remembers by Linda Lay Shuler

Genre: Historical Fiction
Length: 470 pages

Setting: Prehistorical American Southwest
Warning: Spoilers in here.

Summary:Kwani lives an extraordinary life. Accused of being a witch she's driven from her home and her family, eventually meets a trader who leaves her amongst another clan of the Anasazi where she makes new enemies, falls in love with not only the trader but another guy as well, and finds an inner strength she never knew she had.

Review: I always start these reviews thinking “This was a great book!” but by the time I finish writing the summary, I wonder why the heck I liked the book. :/
All in all, She Who Remembers is a nice little story, a good diversion from the problems of your real life. Based loosely on history, it's pretty interesting to read how the author thinks people lived back then, and Shuler paints a vivid picture of the places in her book. It isn't hard to become immersed in the story, but I found the main character a little hard to sympathize with. To me she seemed to alternate between a frightened child (understandable given the crap she was going through), an arrogant bitch, and a fraud. **Shrugs**
