Sherlock was laying on the couch in his smoke filled office, plucking at the strings on his violin. Watson was supposed to be coming over! Oh the excitement... However, Sherlock's mind was somewhere else, trying to think of what was happening with Moriarty. The bastard was still alive somehow, though he didn't know how.
A firm knock was at the door. But it seemed a little too firm to be Watson's. Another man maybe? Could it be the paper boy? Maybe the post? The police? A new burly Russian that he would have to electrocute? No. Not at all. This firm knock came from a small, brown haired woman with ruby lips. She was clad in a brown day dress, a top hat resting kindly on her head.
The woman in the flat below, Mrs, Hudson, answered the door. "Can I help you dear?"
The young lady smiled sweetly. "I'm looking for Dr. John Watson and M. Sherlock Holmes?"
Sherlock suddenly sat up and scrambled for something on a nearby table. It was a plant of some sort. He looked at Gladstone and whistled over to the dog. "Here Gladstone, here boy.." he said. The lazy dog got up and waddled over. Sherlock held out the plant to the dog and let it sniff. Almost immediately, the dog fell over, looking as if he was dead. Sherlock stood up and stared a moment, before nudging him with his foot. "... he should be fine."
Mrs. Hudson let the young lady in, leading her up the stairs. "Be careful, the man is a bit... Eccentric."
"Not a problem, my dear madame." The woman knocked at the door, slowly opening it. "Holmes? You have a visitor."
"Obviously it isn't Watson. He would just walk in without knocking. Though he should knock sometimes." Sherlock said and looked at the door to see who came in. "Hello, welcome. How can I be of assistance?" he said in a droned voice, as if he was used to saying such things to strangers.
"Actually, good sir... I'm here to assist you." She said in a sweet voice. The kind of sweet voice a dominatrix would use. She bowed politely. "Miss Felicabeth Margery Stewart Baxtor. You may call me Felix. At your service, sir."
Sherlock looked at her in every detail, trying to figure her out. "I have help already." he said.
"Yes, well... Dr. Watson called me here. He thinks you don't know how to take care of yourself while he's away so I'm here as a filler.
Sherlock rolled his eyes and threw his hands up slightly. "Great, so another Nanny." he said. Gladstone made a noise, so he nudged the dog with his foot. "Wake up already, won't you? I need to test this theory on you."
"Is Watson your nanny?" She raised a brow and knelt down, pulling something from her pocket. She snapped a small tube from her pocket and waved it in front of Gladstone's nose. The dog snorted and wobbily got up. "He also informed me to take care of the dog, seeing as you repeatedly attempt to kill him."
Sherlock looked down at the dog and shrugged a bit. "Hmm. As for Watson, no. I guess you could call him my friend... though it is odd."
"Well then, that's what I'm here to be. A replacement friend." She looked him up and down. "Now then. I have a case. He's told me to make sure you look... Um.. Presentable."
Sherlock wasn't sure of this whole idea as a replacement friend. What was Watson doing that was so busy that he couldn't come himself. Something uncharacterist
ic happened. "Watson isn't hurt, is he?"
Felix paused and glanced over at him. She chuckled dryly. "He warned me that you were clever. "Yes, he's hurt. But he's going to make a full recovery. They just need to remove a few bullets, fix a few ribs and he's be as right as rain in no time."
Sherlock stared at her and slowly started to figure it out. "Moriarty.. am I right?" he mumbled darkly.
"Now now, Mr. Holmes. How's about we go to lunch, hm? Calm our nerves for a tad?" She unlaced her corset and began slipping off her dress.
Sherlock was snapped out of it for a brief moment. "... might I inquire.. what exactly are you doing...?"
"Changing to look proper, of course." She said simply. Her dress fell around her ankles to reveal a white dressshirt halfway unbuttoned and black slacks. She buttoned the shirt completely and reached into her bag, pulling out a bowtie and a suit jacket.
Sherlock watched her, then shrugged and turned away from her and walked behind a screen as he took off his robe. He was in a sour mood knowing something had happened to Watson.
"Don't be such a worry wart, Holmes. I personally got him out alive and well and stayed with him for the day." Felix said, readjusting her top hat and slipping on a pair of circle glasses.
Holmes came out in an actually nice suit himself, adjusting his scarf with an annoyed look on his face. "I still do not like the idea of him being alone now W-" he stopped and stared at her with an odd look. "It isn't the same. I almost called you Watson."
"If it makes you feel better, you may call me Watson. That would be my last name had my mother not divorced his father." Felix shrugged and adjusted herself in the mirror. "Not to worry. I've hired only the most proper men and women to protect my brother."
Sherlock stared at her intensely for a moment. "So... you're Watson's.. sister?" he asked.
"The one and only, sir." Felix tipped her hat and pulled out a false mustache from the bag, smoothing it over her face. She twisted the ends up a little, making them into a nice curl.
Sherlock looked at her and couldn't help a chuckle. "And should I be going into disguise as well?"
"No no. They are expecting Sherlock Holmes. But it seems the people around here don't think a woman can handle herself, especially not around dead bodies or the sort." She stood straight up as a man. "You will refer to me as Dr. Felix Baxtor. A colleague of Dr. Watson."
Sherlock nodded. "Right... Dr. Baxtor then... if I do end up calling you Watson though, it is not my fault." he said and grabbed his hat, putting it on his head.
"Dr. Watson works just as well, sir." Felix smiled and spoke in a slightly deeper voice. She grabbed one of Sherlock's canes and led him to the window.
"Are we taking the window route? Oh I love those." Sherlock asked, hopping up onto the window sill.
"Why there is no better route than the window route. Tally-ho!" Felix jumped out, making an odd noise, then tumbling down a slope and landing on her feet. She brushed the dust off herself and smield up at Sherlock.
Sherlock took a deep breath and jumped down as well, but he wasn't so lucky with his landing. He went crashing into the trash cans.
Felix looked over and chuckled. "Keep your legs bent."
Sherlock popped up and brushed himself off, looking unphased by the fall. "No worries, I am fine." he said and swaggered over.
"I wasn't worried." Felix smirked and walked out of the alleyway.
"Telling me to land with my knees bent.. I do not need to be told how to jump out of a window, Watson." Sherlock mumbled as he followed after the woman.
"Apparently you do since you can't do it right." She scoffed with a grin.
Sherlock looked at her. "I beg to differ. I just miscalculated where the trashbins were. Nanny must have moved them again..."
"They are in the exact same place they had been since you last checked them which was yesterday, specifically yesterday evening and precisely at 7:43 and 33 seconds." Felix said, continueing her strut.
Sherlock looked at her and smirked. "I take it you've been following me Ms. Watson."
"Following? Or observing?" She smiled politely, leading him through the town.
"You have to follow in order to observe." Sherlock pointed out as he followed her through the crowded street.
"Do I? Following implies that I watch you constantly, no. I only watch long enough to pick up significance." Felix weaved in and out of the crowds, leading him towards a graveyard.
Sherlock followed after her, and knowing the old streets of London, he knew exactly where he was heading. "Now.. you haven't told me much about this new client..."
"A benefactor. My benefactor to be precise. More so, my boyfriend." She shrugged, stepping down the stairs. Moriarty stood before them, a nice suit on him and a top hat sitting on his head. He was in a good disguise, might have been good enough to fool Sherlock. He glanced up and smiled brightly. "Ah! Felix, my love." He pulled her close, kissing her tenderly. "This is a wonderful outfit..."
It would have been good, if the man hadn't spoken. Sherlock glared, but said nothing of it quite yet. He needed more evidence to see if it was really Jim. He stood proudly enough, looking at them both. "Goodday." He said.
Moriarty smiled charmingly at Holmes. "Good day. I've come to hire you about a case. You see, my dear friend Mr. Hank Stone went missing a few days ago. They recently uncovered his body, and now we are wanted to find his killer. I hear you're the best in town."
Sherlock nodded. "So, are you a witness I take it?" He said and waited for a response. This man, Sherlock could feel his blood starting to boil.
"Indeed, kind sir. I'm almost certain that the man that killed my friend is none other than the doctor John Watson."
"John Watson?" Felix asked.
"Yes. I don't know much about him, but he seems to have pulled the wool over all of our noses. Including yours, Mr. Holmes."
Sherlock's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Now I know that is a complete and utter lie." He said bitterly and gave Felix the same glare.
Felix gave Sherlock a look to stay quiet for a moment. "Do you have proof, Alexander?" "Not yet, my dear. But soon."
Sherlock looked away, being completely silent now. He was very irritated with the situation.
"Do me a favor love, and talk to the police. Have them report everything they know to Holmes. We'll be in touch." She kissed his cheek gently and nodded to Sherlock, leading him away.
When Sherlock was out of hearing distance, he snorted. "Alexander... is that the best he can come up with? That bastard..."
"He heard me say it before we first started talking and used it." Felica chuckled. "He's trying to be charming."
"Well he failed." Sherlock said bitterly. "As soon as words started spewing out of his mouth, I knew who he was." He mumbled.
"Indeed. Follow me a moment." She led him into a shop. The owner looked up. "Ah, Felix. Pleasure to see you. Have you tried my newest ink?" "I have, but it's invisible." She responded. He pressed a button under the counter and the back door opened. She led Sherlock in. A man that looked oddly like her whiel she was dressed as a male was waiting. "Greetings Felix." "Hello Felix." "Do I have a date?" "4 o'clock at the tavern." "Very good." He nodded and walked out passed her. Felix waited til he was gone, then began stripping out of her suit.
Sherlock watched her and leaned against the wall comfortably. "Seems like you have a very intricate system."
"Intricate and delicate. I'm a woman of many talents." She flipped through a rack until she pulled out and outfit exactly like the one she was wearing when she went to visit Sherlock. "Now then. Lunch, or a visit to the hospital?"
"I would very much prefer a visit to the hospital." Sherlock said, looking at everything else in the room as well, soaking up all the intimate details.
There was nothing in the room besides the clothes, a table, a sewing machine, and a picture of an old man. "Come." She led him towards the back of the room instead of where they came in.
Sherlock kept the image of the old man in his head. Her father? Grandfather? Perhaps. Sherlock followed after her quietly and started studying her now.
"Uncle, if you must know." Felix said, not looking at him. He hailed a carriage and hopped inside. "To the hospital, Benjymin." She said to the driver.
"Ah, uncle." Sherlock said with a snap of his fingers. One thing that annoyed the man was that he couldn't read this woman. No matter how hard he stared, nothing came up. It was most annoying. He looked out the window and started fiddling his hands in his lap, obviously anxious.
She glanced at Sherlock and smiled softly, placing a hand on his leg. "Don't be nervous. He's fine. He'll probably kill me for letting you see him while he's injured, but he's alright."
Sherlock looked at her and managed a twitch up of the corner of his lips. Words didn't help. "Just.. tell him I forced you to bring me to him." he suggested.
"That wouldn't be fair." she chuckled. As they pulled up to the hospital, Felix straightened herself out. She led him inside. "We are visiting Dr. John Watson." The nurse nodded and led them to a room, where Watson was slowly making his way into the bed. "Johnny!" Felix smiled and walked oer, kissing his cheek.
Sherlock came in after her and couldn't help but to chuckle at the nickname. "Watson.. I see you're already getting out of bed when told to stay."
"I am perfectly fine." John said just before stumbling a bit and hissing from the pain. "There is much work to be done."
Felix gently coaxed him back onto the bed. "The nurses said you need to rest... You won't heal if you dont, love."
Sherlock walked over and put a light hand on Watson's shoulder. "Just glad to see you're still full of piss and vinegar."
"thanks." was all john said to sherlock as he looked up at his sister. "I'll be fine." He smiled a slight smile to reassure her.
Felix caressed his cheek gently and smiled. "I brought you a gift." She reached into her bag and pulled out a small box. "It's a scone from that little shop down by my house."
Sherlock sat down in the seat next to the bed and laced his hands with his elbows propped up as he studied John.
John smiled and took the scone. "Thank you." He sat on the edge of the bed and sighed. "When can I go home?"
"When they are sure you won't be stressing yourself. Your ribs need to heal, dear brother." Felix smiled
Sherlock nodded. "And we need to make sure you're protected... so you and Mary are moving into the flat with me."
"Sherlock we talked about this." John said looking a little more then unhappy. "I moved for a reason."
"Sherlock, that's... Another reason I came over. John wants me to be your new flatmate." Felix said.
Sherlock looked at Felix with eyebrows pulled together. "Oh really. And how is that going to protect him?"
"I am fine you two." John said a little annoy that they were talking like he wasn't right there.
"I told you, I have the best men and women protecting him." Felix said happily.
Sherlock shook his head. He didn't believe it would be enough, with Watson already injured. He looked at his friend and stared at him. "You're not fine."
John just rolled his eyes and picked at the scone.
Felixa sat next to him on the bed and caressed her brother's cheek. "John, he's just worried."
Sherlock nodded in agreement. "Where is Mary?"
John looked up in mid bite looked around and noticed she wasn't with them. "I thought she was with you."
"Safe and snug with my Nanny." Felica said sweetly.
Sherlock sighed and took put his pipe, despite it being a hospital.
"Put that away Sherlock." John said hushed. He didn't want to alert anyone else to the situation. He turned to his sister and smile. "Thank you."
Felica kissed his cheek. "Anything for you." She quickly snatched the pipe. "Behave."
Sherlock looked at her, since he was about to light it. "This is a stressing situation. I need to think deeply."
"Well then you and I will step outside and smoke." She rolled her eyes.
"You to can go kill yourselves on that stuff." John said as he went to stand again. "I will attempt again."
Sherlock got up and gently pushed John down himself. "Watson... please." he said. That was something he never said.
Felix rolled her eyes and quickly pulled the straps to keep John down like a mental patient.
Watson watched and struggled a bit as he was strapped down. "What... what is the meaning of this?"
"If you won't listen to him and you won't listen to me, I'm strapping you down." Felix smirked
Sherlock watched and merely shrugged. "You brought this upon yourself, Watson."
"Sherlock... Felix... let.me.go!" John struggled again the strapes and managed to pull a few of the stitch. "Ah!"
Felix rolled her eyes and saw a nurse walked in. "Is this a sedative?" she picked up a syringe. "Yes, but EEP!" The nurse covered her mouth when Felix injected it into her brother.
Sherlock watched, then looked at the nurse. "Could I have some of that to run some tests?" he said.
"Are you a doctor?" The nurse asked looking at Holmes as if he had ten heads.
It was not long before John was out could.
"No, he isn't." Felix took Sherlock's hand and kissed her brother's forehead. "Good night, Johnny." she led him out. "Must you have drugs where ever you go?"
"Is that a rhetorical question?" Sherlock asked as he was dragged out.
"Yes." Felix said, sighing as they stepped out. The sun was already going down. She took his pipe and lit it, taking a puff for herself, then hadning it to him.
Sherlock took the pipe and took a long drag from it, letting out a pleased sigh.
"You are quite the man. I see why John is always so worried about you." She chuckled, pulling a pipe from her bag.
Sherlock seemed a lot more relaxed now that he had the pipe between his lips and the smoke in his lungs. "There is nothing to worry about when it comes to me. Everyone else need others to worry about them, not I."
"That's what friends do, Holmes. They worry and care." She lit hers and inhaled calmly. "Now then. How's about lunch."
Sherlock nodded, taking a deep breath of pipe smoke. "Sounds delightful, then after perhaps we can go see a show." he said, but what he really meant was a fight.
Felix looked him up and down and nodded. "Only if I can join in." She smirked.
Sherlock looked at her now, up and down. ".. I do hope you know what type of show I mean..."
"The kind which involves physical contests of strength and durability. Such as a fighting club. Yes, I know what type of show you mean." Felix took another breath of smoke.
Sherlock raised a brow. "That isn't the proper place for a lady to be, in the ring."
"Ah, but I am not a proper lady." She grinned. "Besides. It's fun to make men think I'm weak."
Sherlock shrugged. "If you say so." he said and took another drag from the pipe. "Food first."
"Agreed." Felix led him down the street, humming merrily to herself. She entered a cafe, nodding tot he waiter and sitting down at corner table.
Sherlock followed after her and sat down with her at the table. His eyes wandered around the cafe, looking at the few people that were in there.
Everyone in there were all classy looking gentlemen, and not one, besides Felix, was a woman. The waiter walked over. "The usual, Miss Baxtor?" "Yes, thank you Kenneth." "And you sir?"
Sherlock nodded to the waiter. "The same please." he said and tried to figure out the background stories of each man.
Felix glanced at him and smirked. "Why would you get the same thing I'm getting without knowing what it is?"
Sherlock gave a shrug. "I can handle whatever it is you're having."
She shrugged. "Alrighty." The waiter came back out with a bright red soup. It was a ghost pepper soup.
Sherlock stared at it, but he wouldn't back down from the challenge.
Felix began to eat hers quietly and calmly. It was as if the soup wasnt hot at all.
Sherlock took merely one bite of his and almost choked on it.
Felix glanced up and called over a glass of milk and a piece of bread.
Sherlock coughed, tears whelling up in his eyes. "Good lord.. what is that?"
The waiter placed the bread and milk infront of him. "Drink and eat that, it'll make the burning lessen. That is ghost pepper soup." She smiled, eating another spoonful.
Sherlock made sure to eat the bread slowly despite the burning making his eyes water. He then drank some milk and felt immensely better.
Felica smiled sweetly and chuckled. "I guess you can't handle my fire."
"Not that fire I suppose." Sherlock said and cleared his throat. "Could I order some mutton??"
She laughed lightly and waved the waiter over, who nodded at the request.
Sherlock sipped at the milk, letting out a sigh. He watched her a moment.
Felix glanced up at him, spoon in her mouth. She gave it a slightly sexual lick as the waiter brought over his food.
Sherlock raised his eyebrow slightly at that and smirked, then dug right into his mutton.
Felix smirked back and finished her soup, sipping her glass of wine.
Sherlock soon finished his own meal and let out a sigh. "Well, that was delightful."
Felix nodded her agreement. "That it was. Next time I should ask to put shreds of mutton in my soup." She chuckled.
Sherlock nodded. "I will ask for no... whatever in hell made it that spicy..."
"Ghost peppers. Hottest peppers in the world. I have them imported." She smirked.
"Not my cup of tea." Sherlock admitted and watched her as if she were the most intriguing person in the world.
"It is mine." She chuckled. "I fancy things that are spicy." Felix folded her fingers infront of her mouth and watched him with the same look.
"Even your tea? I know an excellent one that I think you would like." Sherlock suggested.
"I've never had spicy tea. Pray tell." She smirked.
"I can handle it." Sherlock said. "It's imported from India. Absolutely divine." he chuckled and took another sip of his milk.
"Heh. I must put that on my to-do list." She pulled out a little black book. "Try... Indian... spice tea."
Sherlock watched her write in the little black book, and a more important matter came into his mind. "So.. what are we to do about Moriarty..?"
"I'm currently trying to lower his guard. That's why "Felix" is his lover. "After that, I'm going to sneak lye in his soup."
Sherlock nodded. "Do be careful going that route..." he said.
"I have nothing to lose." She smirked. "And if that doesn't work, I'll try somthing else."
Sherlock took her hand suddenly. "If it doesn't work.. you won't be able to try something else... and you do have something to lose. Moriarty is a heartless bastard, and will kill you with no hesitation."
Felica jumped slightly at the sudden motion, then chuckled lightly. "Sherlock, Sherlock, Sherlock... you underestimate me."
Sherlock wasn't convinced, and looked both skeptical and nervous. He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the back lightly. "I don't want to see any harm come to you."
"My, my. You've known me for less than 5 hours and already you're so protective?" Sh rested her chin on her free palm. "Why?"
"Not protective... worried. I know how that man's mind works." Sherlock said darkly.
"As do I. I've dated him for the past 3 months." she shook her head and sighed. "He's disturbed. Completely deranged. And I'm so close to hunting him into his grave.."
"And that's why I'm worried." Sherlock said.
"Why? You hardly know me." she pointed out.
"It doesn't matter if I know you or not. You're putting yourself into reckless danger." he pointed out right back.
"And you don't do that every waking second of your life?" She countered.
"You know. Contrary to popular belief, I know exactly what I'm doing." Sherlock interjected. (Had to do it.)
"I never argued that. But you know that you are exactly putting yourself in reckless danger." She smirked
"I know, but I know how to handle it." Sherlock argued.
"As do I, thus you have no reason to be worried about me." She crossed one leg over the other and folding her hands on the table.
"It's Moriarty... I'm still going to worry." Sherlock said defiantly.
"As will I with you. So we're even." Felica sipped her tea.
Sherlock nodded and took a bite of bread that was still left from the incident with the super spicy soup.
Felix smiled and got up, placing her money on the table. "Come Sherlock. Walk with me."
Sherlock didn't hesitate and put the money for his on the table as well, following her. He did offer her his arm though, just to be polite.
Felix raised a brow to the offer, but chuckled and took his arm. "Such a gentleman. Now then. How's about that show?"
Sherlock wriggled his shoulders slightly. "Hmm... yup, I'm feeling up to it for a good fight." he said.
"As am I. Need a quick change though." She led him back to the shop and smiled at the clerk. "Ah, Miss Felix. Pleasure to see you. If the ink didn't work, did you try the pen?" "I did, but the quill works better." She responded. He pressed the button once more and she led Sherlock inside. She flipped through the outfits and changed into a womens suit.
Sherlock followed after her, and once again, he turned when she got changed. He started whistling a small tune.
"Such a gentleman." She chuckled to herself and buttoned up the jacket. "Come along." This time, she led him out of the front of the store.
Sherlock smirked and followed her out. "To the game it is then." he smiled charmingly.
Felica grinned excitedly. "Can't wait..." She led him to the warehouse where it was held and looked around. "Oo.."
Sherlock let out a chuckle and took off his coat, getting his shirts off. "Alright then." he said and walked over, putting his name in.
Felix slid off her own coat and hung it up, undoing the blouse and being left in just a wrap. She signed her name in as well. "Oh, little lady, you don't wana sign that... This is for the big boys. We wouldn't want you hurtin' yourself.." A man chuckled. She looked up an gave a polite smile. "I'll take my chances."
Sherlock recognized the man as the one he beat before. "How's your jaw? Spit on anyone else lately?"
The man glared. "I'm going to c-" "Ah, ah, ah boys." Felix grabbed the man's pulled back wrist and gripped it tight, making him freeze. "No need for hostilities. Save that for the ring."
Sherlock smirked and hopped into the ring, giving him the motion to come at him.
The man gave a grunting growl and hopped in, growling and circling him. Felix leaned against the edge. "Make me proud, SHerlock."
Sherlock didn't pay attention to her however. He wasn't formulating a plot yet. He wanted to disorient him, by slapping the shit out of him.
Felix noticed him contemplating and grinned, having heard this story from John. The man reared back to punch him.
That's when Sherlock attacked. He caught the guy in the jaw with his elbow. The guy was going to stumble a bit and try to do a left. Blocked it. Hit him in the diaphram. As man chokes, Sherlock punched him in the throat, then kicked him in the chest, rebreaking the same ribs as before and sent him through the ring's wall. Again.
Felix clapped for her new friend and laughed. "Bravo, my friend!" She held out a towel and a bottled beer. "Lovely show. I do say I enoy the shirtless version of you." she winked.
Sherlock smirked and wiped his face, then took a sip of the beer. "Why thank you. I've kicked his butt once."
"Poor dear. Getting beat twice by the same man." she pouted and clicked her tongue in psuedo sympathy, then smirked. "And now it's my turn." She walked into the ring. Von Gusto walked into the ring, smirking down at the girl. "Zis is my opponent? Mon ami, you will bruise too easy." "I'll like it, don't worry love." she winked.
Sherlock's face turned a bit pale when he recognized the overly large Frenchman. Sherlock walked quickly to the edge of the ring, ready to jump in if she needed any help. After all, this was one of Moriarty's men.
The croud cheered for Von Gusto, and practically everyone placed their bets on him. Felix hopped from one foot to the other and ducked quickly when he took his swing. She moved behind him, holding her body up backward with her hand and kicked his knees out, causing him to fall. One he was down, she climbed ontop of him and hit every pressure point she could until he fell over.
Sherlock watched anxiously at first, but then relaxed completely when she took him down, letting out a sigh. If someone pointed it out, he wouldn't have even recognized that he was worrying.
Von Gusto twtiched on the ground, and Felica gave him a final wack on the back of the neck to knock him out. The people around her were now silent as she walked out of the ring and grabbed her shirt and coat.
Sherlock walked over and took the money he did bid for her. "That was brilliant."
Felix patted his cheek with a mischievous smile. "Why thank you. Got to love when they think themselves strong.."
"Hope he won't remember what happened. That was one of Moriarty's men." Sherlock pointed out. He draped his shirt over his arm, then wrapped the other around her waist and escorted her upstairs.
She giggled lightly, draping her shirt and jacket over her shoulder. "Most likely not. I figured he was one of them, that's why I took a shot at his neck."
"Very well played." Sherlock said and opened the door to his specific room. He let out a sigh and stretched out. "Mmmm. So many fond memories here."
"Oh? Plenty of ladies in here I'd guess?" she chuckled.
"If you call experiments ladies, then yes." Sherlock said, grabbing his extra violin.
Felica smirked and picked up a second violin from the floor. "Mm... Scientific expieriments?"
"Playing atonal clusters." Sherlock said, then stopped and continued, "If I played a chromatic scale, there's no measurable response from the flies in a tube. Now, and this is remarkable, I switched to atonal clusters... they fly in synchronized, counterclockwise, concentric circles, as if a regimented flock. It was extraordinary. I, using musical theory, created order... out of chaos." he said with a hearty sigh. (I tweaked the quote from the movie a bit to make it fit.)
(You're adorable) Felica nodded comprehending every word. "Beautiful. I'd love to see." She smiled warmly, starting to play in the manner he spoke.
Sherlock's attention snapped to her. "Would you really..." he said, then quickly went to the table and picked up two mason jars, handing one to her. "Help me catch them."
She nodded and put the violin down, grabbing the jar and sneaking around, quickly catching the flies."I've got three!"
"I got seven." Sherlock said and put a little honey at the bottom of the long tube, and made an opening for the flies to go in. Slowly, all of them went into the tube, and he quickly sealed it off so they wouldn't get out. He waited until they were all moving around, trying to find a way out. "Watch." he said. At first he started playing a chromatic scale, and nothing happened. "Nothing... now watch this." Sherlock said and started doing the atonal clusters. Sure enough, the flies started flying in synchronized, counterclockwise, concentric circles.
Felix quickly got a few more and got them into a separate tube, placing it near Sherlock's. She watched carefully, entranced. "Order out of chaos.." she mumbled to herself.
Sherlock nodded. "Precisely. You try."
"Lovely." She looked at him and smiled, then knelt down and began playing as he did.
Sherlock watched her and the flies, smiling. No one ever actually did his experiments with him. It was new, and it was interesting to see someone else doing it. He knelt down next to her, and eventually he stopped paying attention to the flies all together.
Felix loved the experiments he conducted, eventually coming to a stop. "That was lovely.. I want to try other things now." she chuckled
Sherlock grinned. "Let's do it." he said excitedly and jumped up. What he was doing though, he had no idea.
Felix stopped playing and hopped to her feet. "Okay! Hm...Lets see..." She looked around, trying to thin of what to do. ".... Perhaps an electricity expirement?"
"Oooo, those are always fun." Sherlock said. "Now, where is Gladstone when you need him."
”nooo Sherlock. John made me promise.” Felica chuckled and crosed her arms.
"Made you promise?" Sherlock asked as if it were the oddest thing. "He's out dog. I'm entitled to treat him to a little relaxation." he said.
"No, he's entitled to be treated like a dog and fed, and watered, and walked, and loved." She tapped Sherlock's nose. "John wishes for this to be so. His dog. I'm his sister. Now he's mine."
"He's our dog, and so he's... our dog." Sherlock argued. "And he loves it! It's like playing a game."
"Well then I have a decision in this. And he can't love it if he's unconscious the entire time." Felix rolled her eyes with a chuckle. "Now, you are going to be a good boy and listen to me."
Sherlock sighed. "Fiiiiine." he gave a small pout. "Who are we going to experiment on, then?"
Felica eyed him up and down, then smirked. "Me." She grinned soon after.
SHerlock had to stop and think of what she said, then looked at her with a strange look. He wasn't sure if she was joking or if she was serious. "What?"
"I love being experimented on. Johnny always got mad about it... What kind of tests shall we do.." she looked around curiously.
Sherlock caught his eyes wandering for a brief moment, but looked away quickly. "I'm not exactly sure..."
"Electricity, different medications.." She mumbled lightly to herself, tapping her lips. "Or we can mix the two."
"I'd prefer those done on me." Sherlock said. He didn't like experimenting on people, only Gladstone.
"Come now, Sherlock. Or are you afraid?" She teased. "Perhaps John was right..."
Sherlock's interst was caught. "Afraid? Afraid of what."
”Of hurting people. Because you are actually a Sweet and loving man.” Felux smiled.
"...it sounds odd when you say it out loud." Sherlock said and cleared his throat, feeling a little less manly. "I think I need a drink."
Felix snickered. "Yes,yes. I'm stealing your masculinity away." She went over to the cupboard and pulled out two glasses, then filled them with Brandy. "Here."
Sherlock wasted no time knocking back the golden liquid, a pleasent sort of shiver running down the length of his spine, warming his soul. "Mmm."
Felix downed hers as well, sighing out her contentness. ”Lovely drink.”
Sherlock poured himself another glass, this time sipping at it. "It is." he agreed.
She glanced over. "So are we experimenting or not?" She smirked.
Sherlock stopped mid sip. Oh right, she wanted to be experimented on. "I do not think it's a wise decision... Watson will surely murder me in my sleep."
"What John doesn't know won't hurt him." She grinned mischievously. "Come come. It'll be a barrel of monkies!"
Sherlock put down his drink and cupped her face lightly in his hands. "No." he said simply and pulled away.
Felix pouted her bottom lip and stared at him, then smirked and pulled out a bottle, still staring. "This bottle contains a medication, the effect of which I am not sure. I've concluded most likely hallucinations and a higher sense of euphoria."
Sherlock looked back at her. "Ah, yes. I've had that before."
Felix popped the pill out of the bottle and into her mouth, swallowing. "Okay good. Now the effect will start in 5 minutes. Electrocute me when it does."
"What? No, I'm not going to electrocute you." Sherlock said. "I didn't even agree to this."
"You have no choice." She grinned and hurried over to a small machine in the corner of the room. She dragged a chair over and plopped down, hooking herself up to said machine.
Sherlock looked at her and crossed his arms. "I don't have to do it. You can't reach the switch."
Felix looked at him and raised a brow. She got up, pulled the chair over to the other side where the switch was, her eyes never leaving his in a defiant manner. "Oh?"
Sherlock's eyes narrowed. He didn't like the thought of this at all. He walked over and put both hands on the arms of the chairs, pinning her in the seat. "I can't allow you to do this.... theres that thing nagging at me... called morals."
"Morals are for those who are scared. It is a simple experiment. I hallucinate, you turn on the device, then turn it off soon after. Simple."
"No." Sherlock said firmly.
"Yes. The bumble bee buzzing about your head agrees with- Oop! It's starting. Press the button, Sherlock. Just a little zap first. I imagine the bee will turn silver or blue."
Sherlock couldn't help but to smirk at her seeing things already. "You're not being zapped, darling."
"You have to. Now the elephant won't come to the party if you don't." she pouted. "And we have to conduct more experiments with the flies. I have to see what happens when I light them ablaze with rubbing alcohol."
Sherlock chuckled. "No, I am not electrocuting you." he said and picked her up and brought her away from the chair.
Felica flopped in his arms and pouted. "The mole men say you have to agree with me."
"I do not particularly care what the mole men have to think." Sherlock said and laid her down on a cot gently.
Felix yanked him down with her with some force. "I care about the mole men. And they want to see blue as well. So why don't you be a good boy or I'll make sure you can't experiment on anything." she smirkd
Sherlock made a "gack" noise and stabled himself on the cot so they both wouldn't flip it over. He settled down next to her though and stared at her. "No seeing blue. You're already seeing bees and mole men."
"I told you, Sherlock. The bees would be blue if you'd just let me." She chuckled and flailed to her feet, skipping over to to the stove and putting on a kettle of water.
Sherlock watched her with a bit of concern. "What are you doing?" he questioned.
"Making tea." She said simply and grabbed two cups from the cupboard.
Sherlock sat up and watched her, making sure she didn't burn herself or something.
She, somehow, was able to fully function, other than the fact that she kept stopping to look at her shoes. "Mmm... Milk and sugar?"
"Plain." Sherlock said and still kept his eyes on her. "...why do you keep looking down?"
"Hm? Oh, just looking at the beetles." she smiled sweetly, pouring him a glass.
Sherlock shook his head and got out of the cot, walking over to her in case she needed any help.
She handed him the cup, then began sipping her separately brewed tea. She popped a powder into it and sipped it, sighing
Sherlock watched her and raised a brow. "What did you put in it?"
"Antidote." She said simply, ipping it.
"You had the antidote this whole time?" Sherlock questioned with a chuckle, sipping his tea.
"Oh course. But it's fun to be out of your mind. You would know, Holmes." She smirked and glanced at his cup.
Sherlock noticed the glance and looked at him cup. He'd already finished about half of it. "...what did you do."
"Nothing." Felix finished her cup. "Drink your tea. It'll make you feel better."
Sherlock suddenly felt like he shouldn't trust her, but decided to finish the tea anyways. That's when he began to feel sort of... strange.
Felix grinned widely when she noticed him faulter and put her cup down. 'Feeling strange?"
Sherlock stared at the bottom of the cup. "... what did you do to me...?"
"Nothing." she giggled, plopping down on the chair.
Sherlock looked at her, then back at the cup, then sighed and put it in the sink. "I must be imagining things then..."
"You must be... Or maybe it was that slightly spicey taste to it." she grinned.
Sherlock stared at her. "... what. did. you. do."
She grinned and gripped the chair. "Make me tell you."
Sherlock put down the cup and walked over, putting his hands on the chair and leaned over her, pinning her there. "Felix..."
"Are your legs feeling wobbily, Sherlock? What about your eye lids? Are they heavy?" She chuckled and placed her hands on hips hips. "Does my touch tingle?"
Sherlock jumped slightly when she touched him. "Yes..." he mumbled softly.
She grinned widely. "They shouldn't." She relaxed back against the chair. "It was a mind game. If you can make someone believe you've hurt them, they'll feel pain whereever you said it was. I didn't put anything in your tea."
Sherlock sighed. "I hope so..." he mumbled and kneeled down in front of her, staring at her. "... I've been feeling like that even before the tea... have you drugged me?"
"No, I've been putting mental hints in your head that you were drugged. I tricked you." She chuckled and kissed his forehead
Sherlock closed his eyes and let out a sigh. "You're cruel." he said and smirked.
"Am I?" She chuckled and got up, walking over to get more tea. "You were the one who wouldn't electrocute me."
Sherlock had to sit down in a chair, since he still felt off. "That's not cruel, that's being protective."
"It's cruel because you wouldn't like it if I stopped you from doing experiments." She sipped the tea.
"Ah, but I don't do them on people. Only Gladstone." Sherlock said and pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh.
"What if I dress up as Gladstone?" Felix gave a cute grin.
Sherlock had to imagine it for a moment, and the thought made the gentleman blush. "That would be highly inappropriate."
"But it would work." She stared at him mischievously. "You're thinking about it."
"Indeed, that I am." Sherlock admitted.
Felix grinned slyly and heard the phone ring. She went over and picked it up. "Watson and Holmes, Felica speaking? Yes. Uh huh. Ah! Well then, I'll tell him. Good bye." She hung up. "They found the bullets used to kill Hank Stone. Does John own a SMith and Wesson?"
Sherlock had to look up thoughtfully. "Not that I recall.."
"I figured. Jim was wrong then. John can't be the killer.
Sherlock broke out into a smile. "Excellent! I knew he couldn't be telling the truth."
"He's still going to try." She nodded and put the cup down. "He'll find a way to plant a weapon."
Sherlock shook his head. "I know it's a lie. He won't have my allegiance. I'd rather jump off the falls with him again."
"Don't do that." Felix rolled his eyes. "We need to keep his allegiance in order to get him back in jail."
Sherlock let out an annoyed sigh. "I hate him... I wish I could put the noose around his neck myself."
She smiled sympathetically and walked over, sitting on the arm rest. "He does have your mind.."
"Then he wants to do the same to me. I know this very well." Sherlock said, pinching the bridge of his nose.
She ruffled his hair. "Oh calm yourself, Iago." She smiled. "You'll catch him. From what John tells me, you always put the bad guy away."
Sherlock let out a sigh. "Not this bad guy."
Felix leaned down and kissed his cheek. "You will..."
Sherlock looked up at her with a tilt of his head. "You think so?"
"Mhm. You're the great Sherlock Holmes. Of course you will." She grinned. "Besides, you have John and I on your side. You can't lose."
Sherlock smirked. "I have a lot more to lose though."
"Like what? John?" She smirked. "John can take care of himself. And I told you, he's being protected by the strongest and smartest people I know."
"You as well." Sherlock said with a sigh.
She raised a brow and crossed her arms. "Why me? You've known me for a day, sir."
"Yes, and already you've managed to weasel into my heart." Sherlock said.
"Oh no! I've weaseled again?" She groaned. "I hate it when I do that."
Sherlock chuckled. "Don't worry, you haven't gotten too far yet."
"So I can still get out?" She grinned hopefully.
"Hmmmm... nope." Sherlock said simply, looking at her with those dead gorgeous brown eyes he had.
She pouted her lip and groaned, flopping into his lap. "Not fair."
Sherlock grinned and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm not that horrible to be around."
"Yes, but that means I we have to care about each other." She rolled her eyes jokingly.
Sherlock chuckled and nuzzled her. "I could get used to that."
Felix raised a brow at him and smirked. "Don't."
"Why not, hmm?" Sherlcok questioned.
"Because you never know when I'm going to vanish. They use to call me the Ghost. Come to think of it.. They still do."
Sherlock smirked. "I've been supposedly dead for almost a full year." he pointed out.
"And I don't actually exist except to you, John and the old man at the shop." she grinned. "Look up all the records. Felicabeth Margery Stewart Baxtor doesn't exist."
"That's quite a name." Sherlock said with a grin.
"It is. And it doesn't exist." She smirked. "Legend says that's not even my real name." she chuckled
Sherlock grinned. "And what would your real name be, hmm?"
"What makes you worthy to know?" She raised a brow, grinning back.
"I'm Sherlock Holmes." He said, as if it were reason enough.
Felix laughed lightly and kissed his cheek. "It's almost enough of a reason."
Sherlock smirked. "So tell me."
"I said almost." She smirked, getting comfortable back on his lap.
Sherlock chuckled. "I'll find out sooner or later."
"How if I'm the only one who knows it?" She smirked.
"Sooner or later." Sherlock repeated defiantly.
"More like later or never." She grinned and hopped to her feet. "Now what to do."
Sherlock watched her a moment and smiled softly. "What would you like to do?"
"I'm not sure. Today is such a droll day... Nothing going onn..." She pouted.
Sherlock gave a sigh and let his head roll back.
She looked at him, adorably confused.
"It's been quite boring, supposedly being dead to the world..." Sherlock said. "Only you and Watson know otherwise, and of course Moriarty. And of course.... Nanny."
"Nanny? The lovely woman that showed me to your room?" she smirked.
"Back at Baker Street." Sherlock said with a shake of his head. "Sometimes I think she's going to poison me one of these days..." (They're still at the bar.)
(right) She chuckled lightly and ordered another drink. "She's a dear. You should be nicer to her."
Sherlock rolled his eyes. "A dear that wants to murder me as I sleep."
"I'm sure that's poppycock." she chuckled. "You're a dear too. She would never wish for your death."
"It's not poppcock." Sherlock said defiantly. "She likes Watson more than I."
"That doesn't mean she wants you dead." she pointed out, drinking hr glass of scotch.
"You can't be so sure about that... she's plotting against me."
She sighed and bought over a glass for him. "I can be. She cares and worries about you."
Sherlock rolled his eyes and took a sip of the scotch. "Then she has you blinded as well."
"I think the only blind one is you." She pointed out, walking up the stairs and toa balcony.
Sherlock watched her for a moment, then got up and followed her quietly.
She expected him to follow, it was so like Sherlock to be curious... She leaned against the railing, looking out into the city. "Mmm...." she lit up a cigarette.
Sherlock walked up next to her and looked out over the city. "Look at it.. so much hustle and bustle."
"And yet, it never seems like enough." She breathed out the smoke. "I miss it so... I hardly ever get to visit anymore."
"I wish to travel more myself." Sherlock said with a sigh.
"I'll have to take you around some time." She smiled into the night. "It's a lovely world.."
Sherlock leaned on the railing. "I can imagine so."
"There are a few places to avoid, but no worries. I'll only show you the best of them." she winked.
Sherlock looked at her and chuckled. "And which ones are worth the visit?"
"Depends on the type of person you are." She smiled. "I enjoy calmer environments, so I stay away from big cities."
"I think that would be... hmmm... kind of boring actually. So much happens in the big cities of the world."
"Indeed. They are useful for get always though. If you want to disappear, find a crowd of people."
"Exactly." Sherlock said with a fond sigh.
Felix stared over the city in a longing way. "So Mr. Holmes... Do you ever go out and dance?"
"Not as much as I would like." Sherlock admitted. "Women usually can't stand me that long enough to get a chance."
"Really? I think you'd be a great dance partner." She chuckled
Sherlock looked around a moment, then hopped down to a flat part of the roof and turned, holding out his hand to her. "Shall we test your theory?"
Felix looked down and smiled, taking hos hands and hopping down.
Sherlock wrapped his arm snuggly around her waist and pulled her close. He slowly started to dance with her to the sound of the city, just a slow, sensual dance under the starlight.
Felix laced her fingers with his, then placed her hand on his shoulder. She smiled as they danced to the hustle and bustle of the world. "See? Wonderful dancer.."
Sherlock chuckled. "Indeed. It has been way too long since I've enjoyed a nice dance." he said as he twirled her slowly, then pulled her back in close.
Her dress flowed as she twirled and smiled warmly. "Same here. The last time, I think was... At the Yule ball at the academy." she chuckled. "And my date didn't know how to dance half as well as you."
Sherlock rolled his eyes. "That sounds like it must have been horrid." he said as he danced with her in tune with the song in his head.
Felix looked up at him, watching his dark eyes. ”I dont know what John is talking about. Youre very hansome.”
"What was John saying about me?" Sherlock questioned, looking down straight into her eyes.
"That you look like a weasel." She chuckled.
Sherlock had to think about it. "Yes, well... sometimes I do. But he looks like a drowned otter."
She giggled and twirled him around. "I don't think you look like aweasel..."
Sherlock chuckled. "You haven't seen me on the worst of my days."
Felix placed a soft kiss on his chin. "Oh pishposh."
Sherlock's cheeks turned a light shade of red when she kissed his chin. "I'm serious. I've had some pretty horrid days."
"Ah, but I doubt you've ever looked like a weasel.... Though I think you'd look adorable in cat ears."
Sherlock looked at her oddly. "Cat... ears?" he questioned. Why, he'd never heard of such a thing.
Felix gave a light giggle. "One of the times I was in China, they had a festival with men and women dressed up as cats and other animals and mythical creatures."
"As cats... I thought it was the Egyptians that worshiped cats?" Sherlock asked, just to verify.
"They do. But the Chinese love cats as well. They are actually really over populated over there, so they've restorted to eating them." She shrugged and nuzzled his shoulder
"Eating cat..." Sherlock repeated. "That actually sounds wonderful." he said and smiled down at her when she nuzzled his shoulder.
Felix sighed contently. "It's delicious."
Sherlock grinned. "We'll have to go together and try it sometime." he said as he continued to dance with her slowly, just enjoying her being so close.
The young woman nodded and looked up at him. She stared into his eyes fora moment before leaning up and kissing him sweetly.
Sherlock couldn't stop his face from blushing lightly, but he kissed her back slowly, his eyes shutting slowly.
Felix smiled lightly into the kiss, glad that he didn't pull away. However, she was a woman of impulse, so she quickly swung him down, dipping him and kissing him deeper.
Sherlock flailed as he was dipped, his eyes shooting open in his confusion and his sudden unbalance.
Felix smirked and held the kiss for a moment before standing him back up and grinned cutely. "One hell of a kisser, Mr. Holmes."
Sherlock cleared his throat and adjusted his scarf that he was wearing. "Same to you, Miss Watson." he said, glad to be balanced again.
She grinned and giggled. "Why thank you. I'm glad I was able to shock you."
Sherlock nodded. "Indeed. You've managed to do that much." he said. He cleared his throat awkwardly again.
Felix couldn't handle the cuteness. "Would you like a drink? I'm thirsty." she smirked.
"Yes." Sherlock answered quickly. "I am thirsty as well." he said and chuckled nervously.
Felix nodded and took his hand, leading him inside. She went up to the bar. "Double bourbon, Marius." She smiled, handing Sherlock his when he brought them over
Sherlock did something stupid with it and shot it down, shaking his head. "Mmmnn.."
The young woman raised a brow. "Now why would you do that?"
Sherlock made an odd face. "Thought it would be wise. Obviously I was wrong." he said. It was more a way for him to insert his foot into his mouth.
"You're going to keep talking if you get drunk enough." She smirked lightly.
Sherlock grinned. "Ah, but by then I will have forgotten what I wanted to say." he countered and took a seat, already feeling a bit wobbly.
"Or know exactly what you want to say and blurt it to the world." she chuckled and sat down next to him.
Sherlock looked at Felix with a raised brow, the alcohol slowly pumping through his system as they spoke. "I fear what I might say..." he said. "It tends to chase those I care about away."
"It is nearly impossible to push me away, love. Not when you're so interesting already." She smirked.
Sherlock stared at her. "Trust me on this, I tend to end up doing it anyhow." he said and took another shot, shuddering at it.
She sipped her glass and smirked. "Why not just say what's on your mind and I'll be the judge of whether I'm walking away or not?"
Sherlock looked her up and down a moment. "I still can't wrap my mind around why you're with Moriarty." he said bluntly, though it wasn't what was on his mind, not in the slightest.
"I'm not with Moriarty. Dr. Felix Baxtor is with Moriarty." Felix leaned back in her chair, taking another sip. "Now what's really on your mind?"
Again, Sherlock decided to be blunt, hell, he was drunk enough now. "Do you like me?"
"I do." Felix took another sip. "I didn't make that obivious enough?"
Sherlock stared at her, studying her more than he usually would. "Why." he asked, though it was more difinitive.
"You're an attractive man." She finished her glass. "Both mentally and physically. You can hold a conversation and keep things interesting."
Sherlock snorted. "Ah, I see then." he said and looked for a third shot, but saw he did not have one. "So you as Felix like me more than Moriarty?" he said hopefully.
"Well, Felicia, ergo me, likes you far better than anyone so far." She smirked. "But Felix Baxtor has to like Moriarty more. They are dating." She kissed his cheek. "However Felix Baxtor isn't just me." she winked.
Sherlock tilted his head slightly. "Not just you? So that other gent from earlier, that's what he was up to?" he questioned.
She nodded. "You see, as you have your little homeless army, I have a select few friends myself. All look very similar to me, or I can make myself look like them." She relaxed against the chair.
Sherlock nodded. "Ah, I see then." he said and stood up very wobbily, having to grip onto the table. "I think... I could use a drink now..." he said, but he actually meant to say a bed.
Felix shook her head and chuckled. "Bed time, then." She got up and helped him out of the bar and back to Baker street. "You'll be getting a good nights rest I hope." she led him in, laying him down in the bed and tucking him in.
Sherlock took her arm and pulled her down with him. "It'll be better if you stay with me."
She squeaked and looked at him. She gave a soft smile and stood back up. "At least let me get into my night clothes..." Felix went over to her briefcase and pulled out a simple silk gown, changing behind the divider. She walked back over and sat down on the bed.
Sherlock let her go, but tried to keep his eyes focused on the divider. While she was up, everything started to spin, and he had to drape his arm over his eyes with a loud groan. When he felt the bed dip a bit as she sat back down, he moved his arm slightly to peek out at her. "You look beautiful..." he muttered softly.
She looked down at him in slight surprise and smiled. "Thank you, Sherlock. You look handsome. Drunk, but handsome."
Sherlock wore a wirey grin on his face. "Mmm, why thank you." he said and pulled her back down again, just cuddling her in his arms and nuzzling his face into his hair. He was only ever good at these kinds of affections when he was drunk, which was unfortunate.
Felix could change that slowly. Maybe. She cuddled into him and sighed lightly. "John would murder you if he was here."
"Let him try." Sherlock said and breathed in her scent slowly. "I like you, and he's just going to have to deal with it."
"I hardly see why, since we've only just met." She said softly, nuzzling his hands.
"I guess this is what normal people call love at first sight." Sherlock muttered softly into her hair.
Felix paused and glanced back at him. She kissed his hands and smiled. "Go to sleep, Sherlock. You're drunk."
Sherlock nodded and pulled her close to himself, nuzzling the back of her neck gently. The man let his eyes drift closed, letting out a soft sigh.
Felix waited for him to fall asleep, then sighed. ~Hopefully he forgets this by morning...~ she thought and snuggled up to him, falling asleep.
Sherlock slowly let his eyes flutter open, shielding them against the light that was coming in with a groan. "Damn curtains..." he mumbled and sat up slowly. His head was pounding with a massive hangover he just didn't want to have.
Felix was already up and about, no hangover herself. She walked over with a plate of breakfast, a glass of juice and a small tablet. "Here. Eat up and take this, it'll help with the headache."
Sherlock looked up at her and realized he couldn't remember anything he had said the night before. "Did I do anything stupid?" he questioned as he slowly started to eat. He grimmanced slightly, since to him it made him feel queezy to eat. He took the tablet with the juice and put his head in his hands for a moment to keep things from spinning.
The thoughts of his words flashed back, but she smiled. "Not at all." She sat down next to him, rubbing his back.
Sherlock let out a soft sigh. "Good god, how much did I drink...?" he asked. Drugs was his thing, not alcohol. Anything but alcohol. Nothing else ever gave him a hangover like that.
"Whatever I gave you." she answered. "Which was about 4 glasses of whiskey.' She shrugged. "Though now I realize you're not much of a drinker."
"I don't drink whiskey for that reason." Sherlock said with a sigh and slowly lifted his head and blinked a few times. He was slowly starting to feel a little better, so he decided to try and take a bite of breakfast again.
"Yes, you're more of a pipe and cocaine kind of man... Or perhaps a "whatever you can find under the couch" kind of man.." She chuckled.
"The latter, I suppose." Sherlock admitted with a chuckle of his own. He wanted to remember what it was he had said or done, so he stared at her as if she had all of the answers.
Felix knew that look and couldn't stop a mischievous smile to spread on her face. "You didn't do anything stupid."
Sherlock didn't trust the smile. "Did I say anything stupid?" he questioned, still staring at her. "I must have done something, otherwise you wouldn't be smiling like that."
"Nonono. You're just cuddling when you're drunk." she petted his head. "you didn't do anything stupid."
Sherlock stared at her still. He couldn't believe that he hadn't said anything stupid. Usually he woke up after being with a woman with a red cheek or being handcuffed to a bed, naked.
Felix got up and kissed his cheek. "Eat up. I have to see Jim today so I want you to stay here."
Sherlock looked up at her and instantly looked worried. However, he understood why she had to do it and nodded. "Just... be careful, alright?" he spoke softly.
"Of course. He won't dare hurt me. Felix was with him all yesterday." She winked, applying some lipstick.
Sherlock nodded and wondered what he would do. "Well, I think I shall be sort of bored again." he said with a shrug.
"Took care of that for you." She placed a file on the bed. "There has been a homicide down in Fleet street in Oxford. They were wondering if you'd take a look?" Felix smirked
Sherlock picked up the file and flipped through it. "Hmm... sure, I can take a look, but it won't take long. I can tell from the photo that something is wrong." he said.
"I'll probably be back around three or three thirty. I stocked up on some food. Make sure you eat lunch, alright?"
Sherlock nodded, though he wasn't really paying attention now since he was looking through the file. Something had caught the detective's attention. "Eating... right."
Felix looked at him, then down at the file."... The victim's name was Irene Adler."
Sherlock didn't have to be told it out loud, he could read just fine. "... I know..." he said softly as he stared at the picture of his once former love. He'd thought she had died before, but he figured he was lied to by Moriarty. This time, though, it was unmistakable and right before his own eyes. Anyone looking at Sherlock could tell his clouded mood right off.
Felix sighed through her nose and knelt down in front of him. She closed the file and put it down, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. "I'm sorry, Sherlock... I know who she was. John told me."
Sherlock closed his eyes and buried his face into her neck, letting out a slow, soft sigh. He wouldn't cry. That just wasn't his thing.
"You don't have to go on the case if you don't want to. I can go. I'll reschedule with Jim.." Felix offered, petting his hair comfortingly.
Sherlock managed to shake his head. "No... it'll be alright." He said and pulled back from her, letting out a sigh.
Felix watched him carefully. She caressed his cheek, leaning up and kissing him lightly. "Are you sure? You might want support... And if I can't say anything to make you feel better, I can be a shoulder to lean on.."
Sherlock again managed to shake his head again. "I wouldn't want you to cancel with Moriarty. He would get mad about it."
"I can have one of my doubles go instead and report back to me." Felix told him, getting up. "Come." She walked over to the telephone and picked it up, waiting. ".... Mr. Jones? Hello! It's Miss. Baxtor. Are the top hats in?" "Yes, did you order two or three?" he asked. "Two. They both have white stripes." She hung up.
Sherlock watched her and looked a bit confused again. When she hung up, he gave a bit of a confused and sad chuckle. "Will I ever learn your patterns..."
"You're the Great Sherlock Holmes. You tell me." She winked and pulled on a jacket. "Now make yourself presentable."
Sherlock smirked. "I just might one of these soon days." He said and looked at himself in the mirror, fixing only one strand of hair. "There. Presentable."
She looked over at him, down at his clothes, then back up at him. Felix walked over and straightened and buttoned his shirt and tye, then his pants and gave him a pair of glasses. "There. Now you're presentable."
