Mists

The mists of time come up to meet
every little child's feet;
It makes its way along the streets,
passing people by unseen.

The mists of time rise up above
the heads of every tree and shrub;
It rises high, into the sky,
then dissipates like fog.

In the mists of time forever,
caught between lost and remembered,
our cloudy memories reside,
never seen because they hide.

Something never truly dies
until forgotten, and it lies
hidden in the fog of time,
never to see us again.

So remember everything you've had;
Never forget that which you can;
For without you there to remember them
they're dead lost and forgotten.

Without you, they're nothing.
