Jade Tsuki is a normal high school girl who just happens to catch the eye of the new student who is hiding something and when she finds out what that is, how will she feel about it?

Chapter 1: Meeting her

Jade Tsuki was walking through the hallway of Naru Kokoro High School when s thought came to her.

‘Why is my life so incredibly boring? I mean come on nothing exciting ever happens in my life’

Jade is an 18 year senior with long black hair that ran all the way down to the bottom of her butt, and it strangely had natural silver streaks in it. She had the bluest eyes anyone had ever seen and when she was mad, which was often, they got darker well as far as she knew anyway. She wasn’t a tall girl, but she wasn’t short either and she had a thin frame, but she also had many toned muscles from all the sports she did. All in all Jade was a very pretty girl some might even say beautiful, but even though Jade was on many sports teams and was very pretty, she only had one true friend. 

Kanojo no Yokeiue, is Jade’s best friend. His name is really long because he lives with his grandparents who follow the ancient Japanese ways and named him like that, but everyone just calls him Yokei for short. He, like Jade is an orphan taken in by his grandparents. Yokei’s mother died in child birth and his father killed himself shortly after not being able to bear the lose of his wife. Yokei has short brown hair and dark green eyes which is uncommon for Japanese, but his father was American. Unlike Jade Yokei is really tall, like almost 6 feet tall; that’s why he’s the star of the basketball team. 

Jade met Yokei in kindergarden because some boys were picking on her by throwing dirt at her that unfortunately had small rocks in them, but instead of Yokei being the valiant knight in this tale, he was one of the boys throwing things at her. The reason they’re friends is because Jade socked Yokei in the face and when he started crying, she comforted him saying she was sorry; that’s when their bond formed and from then on they were inseparable.

Unlike Yokei, Jade had no family at all. Sure at one point in time she had a mother, but she had died of a rare disease leaving Jade alone in the world with only a small jade necklace to remember her by, which she wore all the time.

I had just finished getting all the books I needed for her next classes out when suddenly; my locker door was slammed shut.

‘Oh great it’s him again’

“Hey baby what’s shakin’?”

Urusai Hito has got to be the most annoying man that has ever walked the planet his name literally means ‘annoying man’, but he is possibly the bravest guy ever. He is one of the only guys to ever come up to me and ask me out without pissing his pants in the process because apparently I scare people. Urusai has been after ever since we were partnered for a science project 5 YEARS AGO in the eight grade and he still can’t take a hint.

“What the hell do you want Urusai?”

“What do I want? Well there are a lot of things that I want and they all include you, me, and a bed.” He said suggestively

“Too bad you’ll be getting none of that” I said as I walked away

“Aw come on Jade some girls would kill to go on a date with me”

“Then go find one of them and leave me alone”

Urusai stood in front of the young girl and whispered into her ear seductively

“Never, you will be mine just you wait” then the bell rang and he walked off to his next class.

‘What an ass’ Jade thought as she made her way to history

She walked into the classroom and looked around for Yokei, seeing this was one of the few classes they shared together. It’s not that Yokei was stupid or anything, it’s just that Jade just happens to be a genius and is in all the advanced classes.

“Hey Jade over here” she heard a yell from across the room

Jade turned her head and saw her best friend waving at her from their spots in the back. She walked over and sat down while saying hi back to him.

“Jade are you alright you look annoyed?” he could always tell how she felt

“It’s nothing just Urusai trying to get me to go out with him again”

“Again? Geez Jade this guy is never going to leave you alone”

“Tell me about it, he won’t even look at any other girl, but me and it’s kinda creepy”

“Don’t worry if he gets out of line me and the team will take care of him”

Jade smiled at that thought; even though Yokei knew Jade could take care of herself, he still protected her like she was some kind of priceless jewel.

“Thanks Kei I don’t know what I’d do without you”

“Oh you would probably be nothing but a sad little girl wandering the halls looking like death” he said sadly. They both cracked up laughing at a thought like that.

As class went on Jade began staring off into space, she can because she’s so smart, and finally she fell asleep. 

Dream

Jade finds herself in a field full of different flowers all of them so beautiful. That was Jade’s favorite thing, flowers; she and her mother used to grow a garden with lots of rare, beautiful and exotic flowers that is before she died. As Jade began looking at all the flowers, trying to identify them, someone stood over her causing their shadow to loom over her. Jade saw this and turned around quickly ready to fight off whoever was there, I mean was good is a black belt if you don’t use it; but when Jade saw who it was she stopped. There standing in front of her was her mother in a beautiful kimono. 

“My sweet Jade”

“Mom… is that really you?”

“Yes my darling it is”

Jade ran and hugged her mother as if she would disappear if she let go.

“I thought I would never see you again”

“I’m sorry my dear, but I am only here to warn you”

“Warn me? About what?”

“About he who walks the night with soulless black eyes. He is coming for you and I am sorry that I am not there to protect you, but someone who can is coming. Let him help you my darling and together you will able to destroy the man with soulless black eyes.”

“Mother I don’t know what you’re talking about”

“Be safe my beautiful Jade stone and be happy” and just as quickly as she came, she left in an instant.

“Mom… Mom where are you? Please come back I need you. Mama no please come back” Jade screamed between her sobs of despair.

End of dream

“Mama no please come back” Jade murmured in her sleep

“Jade… Jade wake up”

“Huh? What’s going on?”

“Class is over come on we have to go to math”

Jade realized that it was Yokei who was speaking to her and that he was right, class was over.

“Guess I slept through the entire class huh”

“Yeah you did, but you were talking in your sleep about your mom. Are you ok?”

“Yeah I’m fine I was just dreaming is all. Come if we’re late again Ms. Mahoney might just eat us” she said with a smile hoping to convince her friend as they left the classroom.

“Good idea last time you were late she tried to get you suspended from school”

“I know and I had a perfectly good excuse too” she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding thankful that he believed her lie.

“Eating breakfast at McDonalds because you woke up late does not count as a good excuse”

“It does in my book” they both laughed as they entered the dreaded math room
