Mutant Name: Heatwave

Abilities/powers: Summer projects waves of heat. These heatwaves radiate out to cover roughly a 10'-15' radius around her. These heatwaves aren't severely dangerous and cannot cause combustion in anything but the simplest and driest of materials (i.e. aged, dried paper). Since the powers are relativly new to her, Summer can not completely control them, and sometimes, her emotions will throw them off, causing bursts of heat in moments of suprise or anger. When she is also very happy, it may cause her to raise the ambient temperature without her realizing she's doing it. Mostly immune to the higher temperatures that she produces, her best use of the power in an offensive way it to cause quick bursts of heat to startle her enemies, since the heat itself isn't deadly (unless someone is exposed to it for too long, then it can cause the same symptoms as heat stroke, since that is what it would be...). The longer that she controls a temperature change, the more physically exhausted she will become. Also, changing temperature in a colder climate will cause more strain on her. The hottest of a heatwave that she can create is roughly 160 degrees farenheit.

Age: 18

General appearance: Summer's a taller female, standing at about 5'9" tall. She's rather thinly built, yet still curvacious and not afraid to show it. Her hair is straight and sun-bleached blonde, hanging loosely back to her shoulders. Her eyes are bright blue. Her normal apparel is a plain colored tank top and a pair of blue jeans, though she also is quite fond of t-shirts and shorts, if not simply for the fact that she will often become too warm and tries to dress as lightly as possible.

Additional Appearance: Summer doesn't have many outstanding marks to mention, save for the freckles that she has dotting across her shoulders and lightly through her face as a direct result of being drawn out by sun tans.

Personality: Summer can be a little...hot-headed, if you will. She is a little eccentric and over-the-top with her mannerisms. She is what you may call a stereo-typical southern girl with her very flamboyant and outgoing personality. She's very bouncy and energetic, and really upbeat. She has a high energy level most of the time.
 
Special Skills: Being a bit of a tom-boy, Summer knows a little bit about car maitenence. She's also a decent shot with a number of different guns.

Weapon(s) of choice: When her powers just won't go the distance, she has no qualms about reverting to using whatever weapon she can get her hands on, be it a tire iron or crowbar, or whatever, but she is also always sure to carry a 9mm handgun with her at all times.
 
Medical information: Her body temperature runs high, about 102 degrees farenheit. She also has a slight case of hay fever.
 
Brief History: Summer was born in south central Texas in the middle of the summer on July 22nd. Her mother passed away giving birth to her. Summer's father, a ranch hand, raised Summer on his own, when he could. She would go to a daycare while he was working, and he would pick her up and do everything he could to raise her right. When Summer got older, her father would take her along with him to work some days during the summers when she was off school where she could help with the cows and ride the horses. Summer and her father were very close. She would 'help' him work on his old truck, and eventually, she became pretty good at doing some of the work herself. By the time High School came around though, Summer, like many other teenagers, hit a rebellious streak in her life. One day, Summer and her father got into a heated argument, which apparently sparked off her powers. During the argument, both her and her father noticed the room got extremely hot, and before much could be done, Summer passed out from the heat. Summer was rushed to the hospital, where she was treated and quickly released. Upon further inspection, Summer realized that she was the one capable of creating the heat, and began to work with the powers on her own. She had worked out how to manifest her powers and became accustomed to the heat she produced. However, one day, she was in her room practicing with her powers when she accidently raised the heat enough that she caught a paper lampshade that she had on fire, causing a small fire in her room. Embarassed that she caused the destruction but glad that she didn't destroy her father's house, Summer decided that it would be best for her to leave Texas and seek out others like her, which has led her to come to Professor Xavier's School for gifted Youngsters.
