Tad Williams: The Stone of Farewell review

The second part of the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy follows several separate stories in the world of Osten Ard. Simon, a former kitchen boy, now a dragonslayer with the mythical sword Thorn gets lost in the magical world of the Sithi and waits for them to let him back to his friends.
Josua, the rebel prince, gathers his followers on a long journey to a place called the Stone of Farewell, where they might join forces with others who are against the reign of King Elias and his evil minion, the wizard Pryrates.
The princess Miriamele is on her journey to Nabban with the monk Cadrach when she meets her own devil.
And Duke Isgrimnur is on his long path in search for the princess who ran away.

All these separate plotlines slowly form the massive epic tale of the three swords which together should fight away the incredible evil of Storm King Ineluki, a former Sithi who sends his snowstorms and evil minions across the country.

The problem of Williams' tale is still some characters and their plotlines which are not that interesting than the others. Simon's stay in the Sithi world starts to get boring after a while. The Hernystiri princess Maegwin is the most annoying character ever and you just wish you could skip the pages involving her.
But when the mysteries behind the swords begin to ravel you find yourself flying through the pages wanting to know more, wanting to get all the people together to start fighting.

Still, I recommend this to all who enjoy epic, classic fantasy stories.
