An interesting war this one was. America versus America. Well, basically, the South wanted to be separated from the North because of an issue concerning slavery. African Americans started escaping to the North where they knew that they would be safe, but only so far North would have gotten them their freedom. Eventually, the war ended with President Lincoln signing a treaty that freed all of the slaves. The war ended, also, with heavy casualties on both sides.
