Not the real title, just something I thought up.. it'll do for now..
or maybe I'll keep it, who knows! :)

The Ghoistly Dream

Kiara sat on ger bed in her room with her nose buried in her favorite book. Her tv hummed quietly in the background , the calm, assuring voice of Ryan, leader and narrator of Paranormal State talking on his director's log about their current case.Kiara loved anything paranormal and desperately wanted to have a ghostly experience. Something thumped in the back corner of Kiara's room. She jumped, then glared.
"BIJOU! Seriously!" she exclaimed, rolling her eyes at the hamster now standing up against the bars of it's cage looking at her. She shook her head and started reading again. She could almost quote the book from cover to cover. It was her 7th time reading it, yet she never got bored of it.
After about an hour, Kiara was fast asleep, her book covering her face. Something wet stroked her face and she woke up suddenly. Thinking her dog had gotten into her room, Kiara sat up and opened her eyes. She looked around, then rubbed her eyes and looked around again.
"What the...?" she muttered, standing up. she was in a fairly dark room. A dim light filtered in through ripped drapes that covered smudged windows. Dust covered everything, and the room seemed to be a touch foggy. Kiara frowned slightly, then walked toward the door, stepping on old crumbled papers as she went. She got to the door and put her hand on the door knob. As she did, it turned. She jumped back fast and slid down the wall she had just been sitting by. She stared up at the door as it slowly opened.
"I heard something in here" a man's voice said softly. A few footsteps were heard before a young man about 20 years old came into view. Kiara ducked down abit more between the open door and a small end table. She watched the young man closely.
"Come on Sean, we have to find the ghost" another young man's voice said. The first man turned, the light from his comrade's flashlight lighting up all his features completely. He had soft looking dark brown hair and dark puppy brown eyes. He had fair skin and a cute puppy face. He carried a small handheld camera in one hand and a large handled flashlight in the other. His hands were covered by black gloves with the fingers cut off them.
"I know, but I swear I heard something" Sean answered, turning and flashing the light around the room. The light caught Kiara's eyes. Sean stopped, shining the light on her fully.
"Helllo!" he exclaimed, glancing at his friend still hiding by the door. "I told you I heard something in here!" he smiled and leaned forward slightly, holding his hand out to her. Kiara slowly took his hand and stood up.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?"
"I-I'm Kiara and honestly... I don't know why I'm here.. I-I don't even know how I got here" Kiara explained, looking around cautiously.
"Well, hey! You haven't seen a ghost around here, have you?" Sean chuckled. He glanced at his comrade. Kiara also looked at Sean's friend. He was slightly taller and had dirty blonde hair. He had light green/blue eyes and tanned skin.
"No, no I haven't... you're looking for a ghost?" she asked, her eyes sparkling lightly.
"Yea, I'm Sean and that's Coley. We're paranormal experts investigating many ghost sightings in this old abandoned building" Sean answered, sounding more professional then he had before. Kiara stared at Sean in awe.
"A paranormal investigator? Like the group on Paranormal State??!!!?!" she exclaimed excitedly. Sean and Coley looked at each other, then at Kiara confused.
"Paranormal state?" Coley asked wonderingly, his brow furrowed slightly.
"You guys have never head of the Paranormal Research Society?" Kiara exclaimed again, flailing her arms. As she did, a loud thump sounded across the room. Sean lifted his hand to shush everyone as he pulled out his EMF. He pointed it toward the opposite side of the room, them grinned as the EMF squealed, showing there was some sort of activity going on in the room. He looked at Coley, then motioned for him to follow. Coley nodded, pulling out a handheld thermal camera as he followed Sean. Sean stopped in the middle of the room and looked around.
"Is anyone in here? Give us a sign if you are here!" he said in a strong, calm voice. A shuffling could be heard, followed by the lamp on the end table near Kiara moving fast, flying to the floor and smashing. Kiara squeaked in surprise, and rushed over to Sean and Coley. Sean smiled widely, thoroughly excited. He took a deep breath and went toward the now smashed lamp that had broken in about a million pieces on the floor. Coley followed, then stopped fast, holding the thermal camera up toward where Sean was standing.
"Sean... Sean, I'm getting a handprint" he said in a low voice. Kiara looked over Coley's shoulder at the camera. Sure enough, there on the blue and green screen was a bright orange, red and yellow handprint forming on the wall. She smiled widely.
"This is so cool!" She said with enthusiasm.
"Where's the print?" Sean asked in a hushed voice as he stayed perfectly still.
"Directly in front of you..." Coley answered. "Hang on, everyone stay perfectly silent" he pulled out the parabolic microphone and listened closely, hoping to pick up something they hadn't been able to hear without it. He held still, moving only his hands and the parabolic. Footsteps right near him could be heard. He took a deep breath.
"We aren't here to hurt you! We're sorry to intrude on your space, we just want to know more about you" Coley said in a soft reassuring voice. A book moved from the bookshelf and landed on the floor with a bang. Sean watched the book, then looked at Coley and Kiara, then moved over to the book slowly and knelt beside it, picking it up.
"Johnston Family Record" he muttered. "Must be an answer to you" he smirked, holding the book up for Coley to see.
"Wow, they weren't kidding when they said there was ghostly activity going on here!" Coley answered, glancing at Sean before looking at that thermal camera. "Uh, Sean..." he said cautiously. Sean looked up at Coley.
"What?"
"There's three hands on the wall moving down toward you fairly fast!"
Sean grinned and shifted his position slightly.
"Get ready for an experience of a lifetime!" he said, pulling all his equipement off and sitting against the wall. Kiara watched, slightly confused. Coley looked at Kiara and half smiled at her confusion.
"He's a medium.. spirits use him to talk to me... they're naturally attracted to him because of the energy he emites"
"Wow... that's so coool" Kiara answered excitedly. Coley nodded and looked at Sean again.
"See? It's happening!" he pointed at his friend who was now completely limp, sitting against the wall. Coley went over and knelt beside him. He switched on his handheld video camera and motioned for Kiara to come and hold it.She obeyed, taking the camera and standing behind Coley.
"Make sure you keep it on him the whole time!" Coley instructed. Kiara nodded and pointed the camera at Sean. Coley looked back to Sean. Everything was silent, eerily silent.. too silent.
"Are you here to get us out of your house?"
Sean's head moved slightly, signifying 'no'.
"Are you mad we're here?"
Again, Sean's head shook softly.
"Are you a demon?" Coley continued. Sean's head nodded gently this time. Coley glanced back at Kiara, then looked at Sean again. He took a deep breath and continued questioning the demon inside his friend.
"A-Are you having trouble moving onto the next world beyond life?"
Sean's head slowly lifted, his eyes closed and mouth agape. Suddenly his eyes shot open and had a glint of red in them. He stared, without blinking at Coley, nodding slowly.
"W-what's your n-name?" Coley asked cautiously. Without warning, Sean shot forward, his hands around Coley's neck, the demon forcing him to choke his best friend. Kiara gasped and jumped up fast, backing a few steps away.
"In.. in the name of the Lord, leave!" Coley yelled through the choking. Sean fell back against the wall, limp once more. Coley sat clutching his throat as he tried to catch his breath. Kiara stood a few steps away, frozen in fear. after a moment of complete silence, Sean slowly opened his eyes and blinked. He looked around, then at his best friend.
"Co-Coley? What-what happened?" he asked in a soft raspyish voice. Coley didn't answer, staring down as he continued to try to catch his breath. Sean looked over at Kiara, who's eyes were nearly bugging out of her head. She still had the camera pointed at him, unable to move.
"Are you alright?" Sean asked, standing slowly and going over to her. Kiara nodded and sighed.
"Y-Yes" she answered shakily.
Sean took the camera from her gently and rewound the tape. He watched what she had captured, his eyes lighting up part way through.
"No way! No freaken way!!" Sean exclaimed, overexaggerating his enthusiam. He looked at Kiara, overjoyed and grinning. "You're such a gem!!"
Kiara smiled weakly, still shaken from the whole experience.
"It.. It was crazy" was all she could answer. Coley stood up and stood beside Kiara, putting a hand gently on her shoulder.
"You sure you're ok?" he asked, his hand strong, but gentle on her shaky shoulder. "You looked pretty shaken there for a moment"
Slowly Kiara nodded.
"Yea.. Yea, I'm fine.." she answered. "Are you ok?"
Coley nodded.
"Yea, it's all pretty routine... I can't count the number of times he's choked me" he smirked slightly. "Come on, lets go scope out the rest of the place" he turned and headed for the door. Sean smiled and followed along, looking over his shoulder at Kiara.
"Coming?"
"YES!!! I'm not staying in here alone!!" she answered fast and loudly, scooting forward as fast as she could so she was between Coley and Sean.
This is getting strange she thought, following Coley out of the room. Is it irony that these two have the same jobs, and same names as the guys in my book?
"Stop!! Shhhh!! Listen!!" Sean exclaimed, grabbing Kiara's shoulder to stop her, bringing her out of her thoughts. Footsteps... fast footsteps were coming down the hall toward them.
"Get out" a low almost incoherent voice demanded. Kiara grabbed Coley's arm and half hid behind him.
"Someone really doesn't want us here" he muttered.
"GET OUT!!!" the voice, a man's voice demanded slightly louder then before. The footsteps stopped right beside them. Kiara hid fully behind Coley, her face buried in his back in fear.
"What's going to happen?" she whispered. She had wanted a paranormal experience, but this.. this was way too much.
"Don't know... but we're about to find out" Coley answered. There was perfect silence for a moment before something hit Sean hard, knocking him backwards. Coley jumped back, as did Kiara. Sean hit his head rather hard against the wall and fell unconcious. Coley's eyes widened as Kiara gasped.
"Sean!! SEAN!!" Coley nearly yelled, dropping down beside his unconcious friend. Kiara watched in fear.
"Cole.. Coley...?" Kiara gasped again. "Some.. something's cho-choking me"
Coley looked at Kiara, his eyes wide.
"Ju-Just relax!!" he exclaimed.
"I can't!!!" Kiara exclaimed in response.
"Okay, okay.. hang tight for a second" he answered, picking Sean up with ease and slinging him over his shoulder. He reached his free hand out to Kiara. "Come on.. come with me!!!"
Kiara grabbed coley's hand, relaxing some as they moved fast down the hallway. As they got outside, Kiara sucked in the crisp evening air. Coley laid the now semi-concious Sean on the ground gently.
"Sean? Come on Sean, wake up!" he slapped Sean's cheek gently. Sean opened his eyes slowly and looked at Coley. Then he sat up.
"Man, why does my head hurt so bad?" he asked, holding his head.
"Something attacked out" Coley answered. Kiara nodded.
"Then it attacked me"
Coley looked at Kiara with concern in his eyes.
"Are you ok?"
Kiara smiled and nodded.
"Yes thanks.. I can breathe normally again" she answered, looking at Sean. "Something was choking me in there while you were out"
"Wow, I can't believe that happened!! It was so awesome!" Sean slowly stood up, grinning a wide grin. "Come on.. lets get back to HQ! I wanna see everything we got!"
Coley nodded, standing also. He looked at Kiara.
"Coming with us?" he asked, smiling a friendly smile at her. She nodded fast.
"Definitely!!!" she answered, rubbing her neck. "Man, my neck really hurts now" she informed plainly. Sean stepped up close to Kiara and tilted her head back. He looked at her neck closely.
"Bruising... fingermarks.. you really WERE getting strangled!" he said excitedly. "Amazing!"
Kiara grinned jokingly.
"And you've got a black eye... you were really hit by a ghost" she teased jokingly, as Sean put a hand to his eye. He shook his head in amazement.
"Wow.. hit by a ghost" he smirked widely at Coley. Coley rolled his eyes and shook his head before turning. "Come on you two. We'll get you guys looked at back home!: he started off, followed by Sean and Kiara.
